Hi Ashley, been trawling through all your brilliant videos in preparation of setting up my own cleaning business....currently install fascia, soffits and cladding at mo but looking to get into something a little less labour intensive but will keep me out doors in the fresh air and bring some job satisfaction.
Just wanna say how much I've appreciated your posts and tips, I did window cleaning for 8yrs way back in the says of scrim n squeegee, you have shown how much more varied the work can be.
I'm in ya mum n dad's hall (although I know they are somewhere far more glamorous than Sittingbourne)
Cheers bud 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoy my content and find it useful.👍🏼 There’s even more tips for your business in my training courses:

Recently bought my first house & now looking to tidy up out side.
Drive didnt look too bad until everything around it got weeded/cleaned & cut back.
The new fence was the final nail in the drives coffin.
Can't afford to replace it & after watching your vids I feel confident that it can be made to look a little more fresh.
Many thanks bud.
Glad you found it useful. I hope it goes well.👍🏼
What a fantastic result. I didn't even know that asphalt could be restored this way (I can see our asphalt driveway being a test case as soon as I get myself a flat surface cleaner!).
Go easy on the pressure over the tarmac so you don’t damage it. It will clean up more easily if you pre treat it with a biocide first.😃👍🏼
It’s great at restoring a drive with no damage whatsoever yet any sort of damage and it don’t do anything
Aye. I'm unable to find a "tarmac restore" video that isn't on a seemingly good drive not needing to be restored 🤔👍
Yeah you clean that tarmac big boy, you show that tarmac who's boss
Thanks! …I think.😆👍🏼
Have to say mate, you are multi talented. What a transformation. Good job 👍
Graham Davies Thanks.😃👍🏼
Nice job!!. I have had lots of junk in my garage for years and lots of dust and debris has settled in their including spilt concrete, sand another building dust. I had my drivewat done in tarmac 3 months ago and over the weekend was walking in and out my garage to dump paint cans and trash to the skip. This has left creyish stains all where my feet have been. Fistly, can a pressure washer remove these stains or can a detergent be used and a good stiff brush? And partly why I am here is that if this scrubbing doesn't remove it, the resiblock can bring the drive back to an even colour again?
There are no 'lumps' of what I think is cement based dust, just footprints.
Great job! I’ve used this recently, great product from Resiblock. I also now have a pair of shoes I have dedicated just to resimac😂
Jimmy Woodward Good idea, it’s messy stuff.😃👍🏼
Hi did you paint your tarmac?
thanks having our drive done soon !
Great!😃👍🏼
Great videos, you're an inspiration to us newbies. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks! I’m glad you find them useful.😃👍🏼
really good video simple and straight to the point and the finish looks great
can i ask what is the finish like for grip. my tarmac drive is on a gradient, would application of Resimac make it more slippery? or are there different texture applications available for increasing grip?
thanks
Thanks. I wouldn’t say that it effects the grip, it doesn’t make it more slippery. You may want to give Resiblock a call directly, they have an excellent help line.👍🏼
Hi you did a nice job.
How many litres did you use.
Thanks jay
Thanks. I think this was about 30litres if I remember rightly. It can depend on the condition of the tarmac and how pitted it is.👍🏼
Another great job done Ash thanks for sharing.
kev masser Thanks for the comment.😃👍🏼
Looks very well, thanks for for sharing !💯
Thanks.👍🏼
Hi very good video. I have spilt concrete on my tarmac from when we did the patio. No matter what i try brick acid etc i cant remove it, any ideas? Cheers mate.
Not sure. You want to be a bit careful what you use on the tarmac really.
Looks amazing. Really good job.
Do you know if this or similar products can take to concrete / cement?
My old tarmac driveway has some sections of concrete and would look great if I was to have this or similar applied to the whole area.
Thanks in advance 👍👏
Resiblock have a really good helpline, they will be the best people to ask.😜👍🏼
Outstanding work❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Ash your doing a great job and another fantastic video keep them coming :)
JMS Window Cleaning James Thanks, I appreciate your comments. I hope my videos are helpful.😃👍🏼
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot the account password. I love any tips you can give me
@Cameron James instablaster :)
@Junior Fisher thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Junior Fisher it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
Can the resiblock paint be put on a smooth concrete base to black it out or only on tarmac
Not sure. I think it’s intended specifically for tarmac, but it’s probably best to cantact them directly. They have a great helpline.👍🏼
Hi am new to the industry please can you advise what size nozzle on your fsc and best pressure on tarmac ill be using a mosmatic 21 Thanks
It depends on the condition of the tarmac. You should use less pressure and maybe a jet with a wider fan nozzle. Don’t use hypo.
Great work ash, turned out great 💪
how long did it stay looking that new black for?
I WANT TO KNOW THIS ALSO
Excellent job I'll be getting some of this. 👍👍
Great! Nice one!😃👍🏼
Great video, been watching your videos for months now,all really good!! Was just thinking what does the drive look like now?
Karl Sinclair Thanks! I hope you find my channel helpful. This job is a regular window cleaning customer, so I visit the property regularly and the drive still looks great!😃👍🏼
Great if you have flat driveway, and how much square meter to put down
Sorry I'm late to the party here, just found your channel, I'm addicted, quick question, how long on average does the resimac take to dry before walked or driven on, many thanks
Thanks. I hope you enjoy the channel and find it useful. I think they say the resimac has a 6-8 hour drying time. I usually recommend that the customer doesn’t park on it for 24hours, but on a warm day it should be fine to walk on after a couple of hours.😃👍🏼
Bloody brilliant result, do you do training, or just research for all types of cleaning when you get asked?
Great video Ashley! How much Resimac did you use on this job???
Thanks. I think it was about 30l in the end. It can depend on the condition of the tarmac and how pitted it is.👍🏼
😹😹 can’t stop watching you’re video’s… xqp
😆👍🏼 I hope you find them useful.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh i sure do, thank you for all the great information. 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice job.
How do you manage to fit it in with you Windows and pvc work..
Spencer j I like the variety of work. I have my regular work, then I book in these additional jobs as and when they come in. I try to spread them out so I can keep up with my regulars.😃👍🏼
Hi ash
just a quick question please, I’ve a slipstream pro20x from spinaclean and I’ve a tarmac drive to clean and i was just wondering how much to back the pressure off on the machine so I don’t damage the tarmac as I understand it needs to be on a lower pressure for this type of surface.
Cheers buddy. 👍
You will have to use your judgement depending on how dirty it is and what the condition of the tarmac is like. You could just back of the throttle a little.😃👍🏼
Hi, great video! Just wondering how much this total job would cost? Thanks
pjmagennis I price a job by measuring up the area and I charge per square meter. I did a video on how to do it but I would prefer not to say how much this specific job was. I usually do a price for cleaning and an additional price for sealant applications.😃👍🏼
How many litres of resimac did you use please
What would you use on tarmac if the moss has a good grip and surface cleaner not able to moss it
Is 24 hours of drying enough time to apply sealer as it says 48 hours on the tin but is that slightly overkill?
It depends on the weather and the situation of the drive, but the directions on the tin will always be on the safe side.😃👍🏼
How long did it take to apply the resiblock?
Fantastic job well done 👍👍👍
The Crazy Man From Ireland Thanks!😃👍🏼
Hi. How many liters to paintvthis driveway?
It can depend on how pitted the driveway is and what condition the tarmac is in, but I think this was about 25 - 30 litres of paint.
looks really good. Looking to start my own external cleaning business and was wonder if you think its worth starting at this point in the year as summer is pretty much done or wait until next year after winter
marcus tandy I would get yourself ready to hit the ground running in early spring when there is plenty of work and you can have a good run across summer. Although autumn /winter can be good for gutter and roof cleaning so it depends what you are looking to offer.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh ok thanks, also when it comes to window cleaning i've heard it is bad to undercut existing window cleaners in order to secure their clients. Whats your thoughts on undercutting and do you think its necessary for building your client base?
I think that if you do a good job at a reasonable price, and you work hard at it, you will build a good reputation. If you go around undercutting people, you will upset the ones you are undercutting and ultimately make things harder for yourself.😃👍🏼
Hi ash is 1 coat sufficient and do you use the paintmaster drivemaster black
This is Resiblock Tarmac Restorer that I’m using. One good coat is enough.😃👍🏼
Ashley
What do you use to remove oil stains on tarmac
I normally use Resiblock oil remover on most oil stains. You might just want to give them a call to check on their advice for tarmac.😃👍🏼
Thanks Ashley
Great video, excellent result. May I ask how much pressure you used on the tarmac from the surface cleaner?
hvatifannar Well I don’t know exactly, but I use good judgement. As it’s tarmac, you want to be a bit careful, you don’t want to damage the surface. So I keep the revs a little lower, and you could always adjust the unloaded valve to a lower pressure also.😃👍🏼
What is the drive like after 1 year, can you share an honest update? My drive looks like yours did exactly before you stained it so I am really curious how long you get from it. If it is not long lasting it's a lot of work. Can you please share?
It can really depend on the situation of the drive: if it’s in a very shady spot or in a lot of sun. But it should last a good few years 3-5 maybe. But yes, eventually it will wear and need cleaning and another coat.👍🏼
Hi Ash. I do have the same pressure washer as you so my question is if i'm pressure washing a tarmac drive in the normal way how do I reduce the water pressure so as to not damage the tarmac? Sorry if this is obvious but i'm just starting out. Also I notice you have a double lance for washing and washing down where you control the flow. what is that lance called and where would i buy one? thanks for your time
You could just reduce the revs slightly to reduce the pressure it is putting out.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh thanks Ash. I did see how you did it on one of your videos when you lowered the revs to feed chemicals through washer to spray on a particularly dirty driveway.
Yeah, I think that was when I turned the pressure down on the unloader valve. They can be a bit temperamental so maybe it’s best not to fiddle with that. Just drop the revs down a bit and you will be fine.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh 👍
What did you find the coverage like? How far does a 20l tin go
It depends how worn and how pitted the surface is. I think this drive was almost exactly one 20litre tub if I remember right.👍🏼
Nice Job!
Thanks.😃👍🏼
Hi , thanks for your reply:), we’ve moved down to Barton on Sea in Hampshire from London . Would you be able to commute:)? X
Sorry but I’m so busy that I wouldn’t be able to fit it in. Probably best if you can find someone local. I wish you all the best.😃👍🏼
how long does it look new for
Great job,, 👍
Thanks.😃👍🏼
Will that pressure washer remove dead moss from tarmac ? Of what type is it ? May need to rent one
Steve Shorter Yes.You do need to be so careful on tarmac though, you could easily damage the tarmac with the pressure washer. Sometimes a chemical treatment in combination with gently pressure washing works best.😃👍🏼
If the drive has moss on it. What would your approach be
Joseph Kelly This one was a bit mossy at one side. The flat surface cleaner sorted it out.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh ok can I ask you would a washer 13l a min strong enough to use with surface cleaner to move the moss.
I think most flat surface cleaners require a minimum of 15litres a minute.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh ok I wonder is my washer not putting enough water out then. I have change the jets to suit the washer. Thank you am a big fan off your video. You seem to be nice and helpful.
Possibly, the fsc should be suited to the machine you are using. Since they can vary, I would suggest you speak to the people you are buying the equipment from to get their advice on which ones should work well together.😃👍🏼
Nice job.
reggie blinker Thanks.😃👍🏼
reggie blinker Thanks.😃👍🏼
Hi mate
How much restorer did you use on that job?
Great work.
SB Cleaning Services I think it was about 25litres. You have to be careful when calculating how much you need for tarmac. If it is very pitted and damaged it will absorb more, so you will need a larger quantity.😃👍🏼
Hi Ash, can ypu share your approach for pricing this job?
Paul Anderson Much the same way I price most pressure washing jobs, I measure the area and charge per square meter.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh hi mate I have a job like this I normally do just the cleans.. Could you tell me how much roughly pqm for a reseal please
This product will cover oil stains? Or you remove first oil stains from tarmac?
It’s good to remove it as best as you can first otherwise the Tarmac Restorer won’t adhere to the surface properly.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh pressure washing only or some chemical? Do you have your favourite chemical solution for oil stains on tarmac and asphalt?
W&W Window Cleaning Resiblock Oil Remover is what I normally use.😃👍🏼
If you don’t mind me asking how munch did you charge to do this I’m looking to do stuff like this myself for a business
I price these jobs per square meter. If you check out my channel, there is a playlist all about pressure washing and a video there on how to price up jobs.😃👍🏼
Can you do that over oil stains that I can not get out
You could get in touch with Resiblock directly for the best advice. They have an excellent helpline.😃👍🏼
Living these videos I have seen your estimate video but what would you charge for a service like this ? Thanks
A similar cost, price per square meter. Tarmac can be a little more labour intensive when it comes to the rinse, so maybe allow a bit more time and cost for that. It depends on the condition of the surface I suppose, but with each job you gain experience for the next one.😃👍🏼
There is loads of tarmac drives around. I find a lot of drive has a lot of moss on it what is the best way off cleaning it.
Joseph Kelly The flat surface cleaner should get rid of the moss. If not, a bit of spot cleaning with the gun but careful how much pressure you use so you don’t damage the tarmac.😃👍🏼
May I ask. How much would you get paid for doing that
Thanks
😎👍🏼
How times change. If you had said to a customer 30 years ago, would you like me to wash and restore your tarmac drive, they would think your on something 😂🤣😜
cns worx I think people realise the benefit of kerb appeal a lot more these days and how this can effect the value of their property. Another good one is roof cleaning, which I’m sure wasn’t around a few years ago.😃👍🏼
They still do 🤣
How much in litres did you use for that specific job ?
You should pour it first and then roll , good job though 👍👍👍
I wonder how long it lasts ?
It can begin to wear away after 2-3 years, it depends how heavily the area is used.👍🏼
@@aemackintosh thanks for letting me know.. great job btw 👍
Wats the name of the paint Yr using please
Resiblock
Hi Ash, did you use a cleaning solution prior to cleaning the driveway or just water thru the rotary cleaner ?
Rick Kozarits Just water in this case, I didn’t need to use any cleaning solutions.😃👍🏼
Do car wheels rub it off
...
?...?
It is very durable but I suppose it is going to wear a bit over time.
What did the client say... Tar Mac ( in tosh) !!
Lol 😂
Keith Baron He was pleased. I did a sealant application at his previous property which was block paving, and he had me back for this one.😃👍🏼
