Grown up in East Germany and found it normal that women got the same respect than men, we appreciated their work and honored them in the same way we does it with men. I was confused by the west German feminist movement, but I did understand why they fought and still fight for equality. Having sex back then and with women from the West was different, more "complecated" and less "free", because of the womens experiences within the society and their "given place" in it.
