  • What better day than Canada Day to celebrate the rich variety of cultural diversity that defines our nation?
Canada Day serves as a poignant celebration of the rich cultural tapestry that defines the nation. On July 1st, Airdrie CultureFest unfolded in Nose Creek Park, a vibrant celebration where South America, North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe came together to showcase their distinct cultures to attendees.
Kimberly Glass, Team Leader of Airdrie CultureFest, expressed the event's essence in an interview with Diversity Magazine: "We have Airdrie's diverse community coming together to showcase and celebrate what they have to offer."
In lieu of a main stage featuring performances from Mexico, Ethiopia, Korea, Nigeria, and others, various booths offered diverse products, foods, and traditions to attendees.
Mayor Peter Brown echoed this sentiment, stating: "...we are a multicultural community where everyone is welcome to grow and thrive." He highlighted the event's role in transforming Airdrie into an international city, emphasizing its multicultural spirit where everyone is welcome to grow and thrive.
Airdrie CultureFest not only commemorated Canada Day but also served as a testament to Airdrie's evolving cultural landscape, where unity in diversity is celebrated with pride and enthusiasm fostering inclusivity and community spirit on this auspicious Canada Day.
