This is my apprentice slash off sider and were going to give him a crack at using this saw
because of the lightness of the saw ...and the fact is has a pretty aggressive chain it dose jump around if not seating against the dogs or if the wood is super hard like old gum
being a battery powered.. is a very light compered to petrol saws
as-well as it is basically from 100% plastic thou it dose feel fairly sturdy but that's probably because it dosnt have vibration mountings …
..
I would like to tell you the tork and the wattage but the manufacturers have decided not to release that information at lest not that I can find anyhow ..
it dose seem to have plenty of balls thou as I have never manage to stop the chain with out pinching the bar 1.. and well the size of some of the wood ive cut with it is nothing but impressive ..
a 4amp battery will last you 15 to 20 min depending on how hard you work it
it has a chain break thou that is a on off switch thou it dose work
The safety start witch is located in a decent place and dosnt brake ya dame fingers trying to push it like a shit load of other tools I have re viewed
now according to my top secret insider that works at Bunnings that I will never revile the identity of under penalty of death ( on ya mitch )says there are a full list of spears available ...now I haven't actually tried ordering such spear parts but if old mate says so then I shall be leave him
now sound .. well its un comparable to a petrol saw like if you woke up to this in the middle of the night you would prob think the wifey got some new batts and go back to sleep ..
why would u want a battery saw ?
a battery saw like this is almost live saving when camping so many places I have been say NO Chainsaws but if u have ever tried to get some fire wood off a 50yr old stump laying in a paddock with a axe then you know what im talking about …
when all u want is a fire so you can drink some beer and a razor sharp axe bounces off red gum trunk like a buggs bunny cartoon then you know what I mean ..
so im going to shut up for a sec so you can have a listen
Solid review, is pricey but a great saw! I’ve also got other AEG tools though so it was an easy decision. Only use mine for camping and fire wood, love it.
Cheers thanks for that ... I have reviews on the AEG saw as well as other AEG and ozito tools
🤣🤣🤣🤣 LOVE the review👍👍
Nice to get a straight up opinion with a bit of humour.
I needed it😂😂😂
Cheers Mate
I don’t think you give it enough credit. I have one and it’s a great little chainsaw and the battery lasts me forever. I have a big property and this comes with me everywhere. And yes I do have lots of aeg products so I bought skin only and it is very inexpensive for the quality. Love it.
i like the saw .. just a bit expensive
I have both this 18v & the 58V 16" AEG chainsaws & anybody that thinks it's too expensive doesn't understand battery tools. You don't need to keep buying petrol for it (need blade oil though). Sure, if this is the only AEG 18v tool then go & buy other 18v AEG tools to go with it, but don't think one battery will do everything for you, unless you love stopping & charging that 'one battery' each time you have used it up, but saying that, a fair bit of cutting is possible from one 6Ah battery all the same. This one is certainly the one to have in the car when camping though (with spare batteries).
Ohh mate it's a bloody good little chain saw I use it all the time ... But i still stand behind my stament the price is to dear that 58v omfg 1 of thous 2 batts and a charger ... A person can buy a nice little car for that ... Tell me I'm wrong ?
@@Gymjunnky I was buying most of their 58v gear about 5 years ago & couldn't wait for the 58v chainsaw to come back into stock after a recall (wasn't always cutting out if jammed if a dense user was still trying to drive it), but as soon as one came in I bought it., shortly afterwards I had a phone call to say production stuffed up with old parts & had to recall them again. I kept using mine until the replacements came. First off they were giving a spare 58v battery for those replacing the (original) recalls but because I was 'inconvenienced' I was also offered a bonus bit of gear ($399 worth) which would have been a blower which I already had so they offered me the 18v chainsaw kit. So what does one do with one 18v tool? He goes & buys more 18v tools. 😁 Anyhow, I'm pleased to have gone down that path now.
Which is better after 2 years the small or large saw?
@@carlmontgomery1971 Obviously the 58V larger 16" cuts larger diameter & at double the chain speed than the smaller 18V 12" saw, but both have their uses though.
Love mine.....no fuel or air filter carby....... .4 batteries 2x 5ah 2x 4ah....good for most jobs...
I have used AEG cordless for years but this review link below has convinced me not to buy the AEG 58 18 inch saw. It doesn't make sense
This is the best most honest review of the AEG 18" e-saw. Its warts and all and has put me decidedly off buying any e-saw. I only do hardwood firewood in Western Australia, such as Jarrah, Karri, etc.. Paying that price for only 7 minutes run time including constantly Li battery shutdowns! AEG are having a laugh with this. Then you have pay another cuppla hundred bucks for a second battery! "It's Ok for cutting branches and small greenwood"! So why would I buy an 18inch bar chainsaw for doing branches and twiggery? BTW - in 40 years of using a chainsaw I've only ever had a chain come off twice and that was because the bar was worn out. Here we have it where the chain comes off pretty often by the sound of it. I'm unimpressed, despite me being an AEG guy. I'll stick with my 20 year old petrol Stihl thank you.
But could you recommend it as a climbing saw. My sthil is too heavy. I need something light and not need pull starts is a plus
yeah its like a 1/4 of the weight of my MS180 and prob has about the same amount of balls ,,, its a bloody ripper of a saw i cunt down a 20inch round 8m high gum and it dint blink.. just the price is the problem with it saw is good ...
@@Gymjunnky yeah I ended up getting a little Ryobi 18v pruning saw it's 6in little one handed thing 300 but I got it for 200 not cheep but the Milwaukee is 650-800 😬. Good for hedges and for learning to climb
@@Gymjunnky I've already heaps of the aeg stuff so it was a very tempting buy but I trust sthil saws and aeg prices are going abit crazy
spot-on, price is the only downside - yet I've now replaced my small husky petrol saws with this (I have plenty of other AEG tools and batteries) and am now looking at the 58v to replace my big banger smelly saw.
Mate those 58v bitches are so expensive .. I would like to get my hands on one's to review but that's out of my budget So So Dear $$$
@@Gymjunnky Chainspeed is double though. 😊
LoL
What a review! Good on ya
Bastards increased the price
$329 for skin $429 for 6Ah kit. Only up by $30 though.
Like the promo,
well spoken
The fact that I just put a charged battery in it and it goes 100% of the time - FAR OUTWEIGHS the price. Had too many experiences pulling a pile of junk petrol saw for ages to get one going....... Battery all the way...........
Your review was fucking brilliant! No bullshit straight to the point....fuck the tree huggers, n dolphin strokers! I wish all reviews were like yours....keep up the bloody good work! I brought one of these fuckas today in NZ I got a $4 discount! What the fuck! The price is day light robbery. Buts it's a wicked wee saw!
LoL Cheers mate
PMG linesman???............you are showing your age Bro.
