Is any sound postprocessing was applied to raw audio stream recordings here? I also heard 8600 lite (with 1868f) in another video, but with worse sound quality.
There was no postprocessing used. The audio is directly recorded from the line-out of the sound card.
1:14:21 GAME21.MID - probably my favourite Descent track. I also like the sound of the Guillemot, to me it sound close enought to the SC-55.
Guillemot Maxi Sound 64 (SAM2634/SAM9708)
The TR-808 on this sound just awesome. The drums sounds on the MAXI card are awesome (as are the brass, syth and well, pretty much everything!). I'm assuming it's from the card, I guess it's possible it could be sampled; even with the limited RAM I found the sampling facility on the card another reason it stood way above all but professional audio cards of the time.
When I first started music back in 98 I think, I had one of these, man it blew me away with the fact I could install ram on the card. But alas, I had 0 idea of what I was doing. One of these with Cubase should've made a full on studio, but I had no musical knowledge and couldn't make things happen. I miss that card out of all my cards.
Would you elaborate on the software side of this setup ? Do you have links to tthe software and music files ? Cheers
