I would love to see a Stephen king reading vlog for The Outsider!
Gabby in reverse baseball cap mode = adorable. I love this video series ... added a couple more books to my TBR.
No way .. I just got to this and my comment is in the video!! lol so glad you liked camp Damascus !
42:19 Tank said, “excuse me, you must pay the food tax.”
Really enjoying your blogs, Gabby, as always. 😄

And FYI- I'm a bookseller at B&N. Especially with a newer book, if it's a hardback, it should be up front in whatever set of shelves it applies to (General fiction, Mystery/thriller/horror, sci-fi/fantasy, bestseller).
If it's not there, and it was supposed to be out a certain week, we do have specific books that we can't put out until it's supposed to be out on Tuesday (James Patterson, Jodi Picoult, etc. Usually the big ones that will get a LOT of sales). We may have copies in the store, but we cannot sell them until the specified day, per our corporate office. Great example: that new edition of Fourth Wing that a lot of people are wanting, the one with the red cover? That can't be sold until the day it's supposed to be out. No exceptions.
Your book should have been on the floor though (it came out 9/5). So, that tells me that if you can't find it on the floor, and you didn't find it in the Mystery/Thriller or Horror sections (at the beginning of those sections... That's where we have our hardcovers now, followed by paperbacks), that tells me that, if it's "in stock", it's on a book cart either on the floor, or in the back receiving area.
So, here's what you should do:
1. Look yourself first at all the areas I recommended.
2. Go to customer service, and tell them that you can't find the book on the floor at all. They'll try and hunt it down for you.
3. When they can't find it, ask them when it came in last. I know my store gets behind a lot with our receiving/shelving sometimes. When they look up the book, they can instantly tell when we received it (aka, when we checked it in). That should tell them whether or not it's out on the floor, or if they need to check in the back.
5. Above all, be patient. The booksellers are usually beginning their Christmas shopper surge about now. A lot more people gravitate towards B&N around mid-October. Also, many stores are short-staffed due to school, illness, etc. It's not too terribly bad yet, but the more patient you are, the more grateful the booksellers will be, and the better experience you will have.
I tried listening to Tell Me I'm Worthless and I had to DNF. I knew I couldn't handle reading it.
"I guess Chuck Tingle is kind a popular horror author" me: no, it isn't horror isn't the reason he is known
😂😂
THIS IS WHERE WE TALK THINGS OUT...1. I designed the cover 😜 2. The illustrations were done by the author herself. Caitlin Marceau is an amazing author.
No way that’s amazing!! 👏👏👏
THE BACKWARDS HATE A GABBYREADS AESTHETIC! WE LOVE!
🥹🫢💗
I'm so glad that the weather is feeling like fall definitely will be taking some walks 🍁🍂🍃
Your sister's reaction to her nespresso drink is so funny lol we got one recently and it's sooooo fun to make different drinks!!
The way that you explained Burn The Negative kind of gives me The Crow Vibes with what happened to Brandon Lee.
Pleeeeaaaaaase do a reading vlog of the Outsider! I enjoyed that one! It’s not top notch Stephen King, but it was good and very creeeeeepy! 🎉 you don’t need to have read the other series to enjoy this one.
I absolutely loved September house but hated how to sell a haunted house lol 😅
Great vlog! And yes, would love to see a The Outsider vlog 👻
I really enjoyed Camp Damascus, but I thought it would be set more at the conversion camp, so I was little disappointed that it wasn’t. I also enjoyed This is Where We Talk Things Out. I read Magnum Opus by her last weekend and it was also a strong novella with a good twist. I like her stuff!
I saw Tell Me I'm Worthless in the thumbnail and suddenly got really excited because I suggested that!
4:22 lovely lil cameo of my channel haha
DEFINITELY part 2 please!!!!! 🤗. I'm sorry you didn't like the one I suggested. Loved the vlog 🩷🩷
I enjoyed This Is Where We Talk Things out!! 😊👏 thanks for the rec!! 😊💗
The chai concentrate is AMAZING! I do like half concentrate half soy milk and it’s bomb. There’s a pumpkin version I am still trying to find! Also I love a good grocery store action clip sequence so thank you for that haha! Idk I find it so calming but when I’m grocery shopping myself I hate it haha
Thank you so much for being transparent about you thoughts about a book that you are struggling with. I feel like often times in the book community it can be looked down upon to stop reading a book to protect your mental state.
Love this! Also, add a splash of pumpkin creamer to your chai! It’s the best!
Your hair in this video is beautiful 😍
Thank you!! 🥹
Chuck Tingle is bisexual and autistic, so he put a lot of himself into Camp Damascus. It's also his first traditionally published book! He does talk about gender stuff on his pages too which has been interesting to me. His next book is coming out this summer called Bury Your Gays!
He is really most known for his Tingleverse niche erotica stories and hia online persona (especially on tumblr)
Just thought I'd share ^^
Great job with vid...spooky music and car rides were really cool 🎃
Lately, i am missing out all the content because of busy schedules, finally I am here for you Gabby and this beautiful community miss you guys... 😍💙
I love your vlogs soooo much ❤ Horror is my jam at the moment so i love fnding out your opinions on horror books 👻
Great vlog! 📚☕🪦☠️🦇👻🍂🍁🎃
Your Barnes and nobles horror section is double the size of the one in my area. I’m jealous
I love to see a Stephen King reading vlog ❤
I agree! I have read Stephen King since 1984. I love him so much as a writer and a human! All of his earlier stuff is fantastic to me but I feel he’s been hit and miss since the Tower books.
Me seeing Gabby listening at 2.8, boosts my audiobook to 2.5…😵💫🤯…goes back down to 1.75. 😂 I finished The September House this past week. I do mental ratings as I read and it started at a 3. Just past halfway, it was a 4. I give it a 5⭐️ by the end. Loved the gross stuff.
I loved September House too!!
Ugh that happened to me before with B&N for All Sinners Bleed and I was told the copy they had in stock was on hold for someone and it shows up on the online inventory as in stock and available. Super frustrated after a 45 minute ride. I call ahead now. LOL!
I've been curious about Camp Damascus, so really happy to hear the positive review! Adding it to my TBR! (and I'm currently reading Penpal!)
If you wanna try another chai concentrate my favorite is the good & gather brand from target! It’s soooo good
Good to know thank you!!
Great video. I thought I would mention that something with your footage seems like blurry - it’s happens when you move the camera (when your grocery shopping). I noticed in the Japan vlogs but thought it was a one off. Not sure if it’s a setting like stabilization or something.
I read camp Damascus in September and gave it 4 stars! I thought it was so fun
I have to say… I never read (in fact had never even heard of) the bill hodges trilogy before reading the outsider and I still loved it. I immediately read if it bleeds and im reading holly now and I still don’t feel like im missing out. I hope you love it too!
I really enjoyed the outsider I also enjoyed holly gibney in this one way more than in the mr Mercedes trilogy I can't wait to read if it bleeds and holly
Burn the Negative reminds me of the scary movie Stay Alive, where how you die in a video game is how the characters die in real life. The first horror movie I ever saw so now I’m intrigued about this book 🤗
I’m not sure if you’ve read it before or not, but you should read The Only Good Indians! I’m curious what you would think of it because I found it SO hard to get into, but once I did… wow.
I read it a few years ago and I vlogged it! 🥰
First, I LOVE your look in the beginning of this video, so cute! Second, that was the exact vibe I was worried The September House would have (I reallllllly didn’t like How to Sell a Haunted House), so I’m glad you confirmed that for me!
Aw thanks Casey!! 🥹🥰
The outsider is one of my favorites
I wasn't aware that the novel "Camp of Damascus" was inspired by the Syrian capital city, Damascus, which is intriguing. However, my question is, does this book give off vibes similar to "The Troop," especially considering the notable spitting bugs scene?
I'm not normally interested in horror books but I am interested in Burn the Negative
The Outsider reading vlog please 😊
You should try the tazo's pumpkin spice version, it's so good!
I just finished the outsider and I also watched the hbo adaptation a few years ago when it came out
Tell Me I’m Worthless put so much emphasis on SA as the main horror element. Whenever that is the case with horror it totally takes me out of it, and I don’t think it’s very creative either. I didn’t hate the book, but it is incredibly hard to read.
Both the poltergeist franchise and the exorcist suffered tragic deaths
Starbucks actually owns the Tazo tea brand 😁
I know you have read a couple of books by Jennifer McMahon and I was wanting to check out one of her books. I wondered if you could tell me a good starting point with her books or does it even matter which one I pick up first?
Hey hru, I'm not sure if you've already read it but I'd love to see you read and review "I feed her to the beast" before the month is over. 😊
Fun video! Did you custom make your bookworm sweatshirt? I love it.
The Booktuber i blindly trust❤❤❤❤❤
Omg but I actually loved Mr. Mercedes
I've added all these to The List. It's rather long lol
I read The September House and loved it. I found it creepy. Maybe something gets lost in the audio.
Katie Colson reviewed Tell Me I’m Worthless and wasn’t a fan if I remember
That's how I felt about Burn the Negative
Someone please tell me where I can purchase the Bookworm sweatshirt she’s wearing in this video. Thank you!
🎃👻
I agree w September House! I was so excited for September House but kinda disappointed. I was hoping more scary. You may like Legacy Witches by Cass Kay. I’m hoping to read Mark the wicked by Georgia Bowers, Delicious monster by Liselle Sambury, A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand, When Ghosts call us home by Katya De Becerra. These look so good!! Look some of these up see if they sound interesting to you
I just read The Outsider, it's good!
🥰🥰🥰
I dislike the B&N buy one get one 50% off because there's always that one book I want MOST that isn't included in the sale. 😂
Would love another Stephen king vlog please! I haven’t read many and always read more when you read them.
❤❤❤
I was really excited because I read 3 of these - Camp Damascus, Tell Me I'm Worthless, and The September House. I gave September House 5 stars, Tell Me I'm Worthless 4 stars, and Camp Damascus 2.5 stars - I even sent a voice message to a friend saying, before I saw this video, "I'm pretty sure she'll like Camp Damascus but not care for the others." And I think if anyone knows your tastes, that should have been obvious. I'm sorry you wasted your time, especially with Rumfitt's book, but it isn't a book I'd generally recommend anyway. Your fan base should know better....but great vlog anyway, thanks!
I DNF’d Tell Me I’m Worthless for the same reasons. I wanted to like it so bad, but just couldn’t.
😍❤️❤️❤️
If you really liked Camp Damascus so much then I highly recommend Camp Carnage by Elliot Arthur Cross. It’s just like the one you read in today vlog but kinda different and kinda the same to be honest and I think that you would really love and enjoy it as much as I did. I highly recommend it. It’s so good. I hope you check it out and read it. And I can’t wait to hear what all your thoughts and opinion are on it if you do end up checking it out and end up reading it. Much love. xxx >3 :)
Often I've said such and such book would be better if substantially shorter but what if the version I've been reading already is 100 pages shorter than it was. For some people the act of writing a story is hard and painful work and for others they'll keep putting words down until someone pulls them from the keyboard. Then we get to editors - some of whom could be represented as bearded dwarfs with big sharp axes, while others are the single most persecuted group since....well I don't know exactly but since a pretty long time.
Non fiction books reading vlog??
🎃🎃🎃👍
I dnfed tell me I’m worthless. I could not get into it. I bought it cuz of the title.
No ! Spoiler alerts!!!
AHHHHH you picked one of mine!!!! I'm freaking out right now!! 🩷🤗😂 I can't wait to finish this video and see how it went for you!!!
