    Minimoog jam to Strymon BigSky, out it's left channel to the MXR analog delay, right channel to Red Witch Titan delay with the fx loop to the Red Witch Empress Chorus. Minimoog also sent dry to the Electroharmonix Stereo Reverb in stereo echo mode for ping pong delay. There's a Korg MS-20 for some occasional bass too. I recorded straight out of the desk onto a Sony M-10 field recorder, no extra processing apart from the hardware. So much fun to play! Hope you like it.

    Bro I don't know what you did here lol but I come back to this video a few times a year...year after year. The mood of this video will hit me, and I'll look it up. I'm sitting at a gate at the airport right now, and for some reason I thought about this video. I watched planes land with the sunrise and New York City on the horizon... Amazing. Thank you for this one bro.

    The recording is so good, you say that you are coming out of the desk into a sony m-10, what desk? No audio interface then? Compared to many other videos this just sounds so much deeper and rich.

    • @EdZuccollo
      @EdZuccollo  9 років тому

      +Reagan Call Thank you! Yeah no audio interface - I guess it gets coded digitally in the Sony M-10, but it's mixed analog in the Mackie Onyx desk and what you hear here is what I heard in my room when I played it. I just recently got an EPIC custom recording console built by this guy Ekadek in New Zealand. I'm going to do a video using that soon. It sounds lovely.

    Love what the mod wheel is doing! Can you talk about what that's controlling?

    • @EdZuccollo
      @EdZuccollo  7 років тому +7

      Yep! So for this whole piece the mod wheel is assigned to filter modulation only. The modulation starts with a blend of a triangle LFO and white noise which gives it a furry quality. At 1:29 I change the LFO shape to square, and you can hear the edgier modulation it gives. Does that explain it?

    Beautiful and a lot of skill shown here! *Deep bow*.
    What type of reverb did you use on the BigSky? In the clip I saw bank 02 with a green light (instead of yellow) on "A". Is that the fabric setting or your personal Bank 2?

    • @EdZuccollo
      @EdZuccollo  7 років тому

      Thanks very much! I think that is the stock bank 2 A patch - although I can't be sure. I've made a lot of my own and I can't remember if I edited that from it's original but if so it's not far off. I remember liking that one straight off!

    • @etlee3326
      @etlee3326 7 років тому

      Yeah, I think it is "fabric" or close to it.
      Also, your signal chain (moog->REVERB->delay) I find "eye-opening". Started experimenting with it on a prophet 08. Very nice how the tail in the reverb doesn't get influenced by delay. Very nice. So thanks for the insight.

    • @EdZuccollo
      @EdZuccollo  7 років тому

      Cheers! I actually came across reverb->delay by accident when I was playing with some pedals and it just sounded so much lusher than I expected - and that's when I noticed I had plugged the reverb first and delay second. That was a happy mistake!

    The sound of the Minimoog is timeless! 👍🎹

    I can not tell you how motivational this is.
    I'm going to get my Minimoog out of my basement tomorrow (along with my old digital delay and reverb) and hook everything up again.
    (Yes, I know the digital delay and reverb pales in comparison to the analog units).
    Thank you for this!

      Keep in mind you will have to add on delay and verb to get this same type of sound.
