There are rules. I still miss it. If only I was a few years younger.
Actually they do have a couple of rules in MMA. You can't poke them in the eye, bite them or kick them in nuts lol.

Young man's sport! Certain things are not accepted, like punching on back of head, kicking in the groin area, and jumping on unconcoious opponent. MMA is much more than just punching and kicking, though. Wrestling and controlling your opponent. Making them give up through painful methods. They do have a mouth guard in place so they will not lose teeth. Technique is more important than strength in many instances. Knowing how your opponent fights is a key. Many Americans watch this sport and enjoy it!

Much better content in terms of MMA and military. You should show other UFC content that utilize grappling, as this was more kickboxing. They also have a female MMA version. You should also explain to them that safeguards are in place, such as no eye gouging and hitting in the groin area and the referee is there to stop the fight once he realizes the losing opponent is going to get hurt too much. Also, they are not doing it for audiences; they are getting paid a lot of money; both the winner and loser… you should let them know all these facts.

If you want rules then there is boxing, wrestling. This has minium rules. Not to be rude .. I would not do this sport but the whole purpose of this version of martial arts is that it attracts as when you mix boxing, wrestling, Judo, Karate etc .. the rule book is going to be slim.

There’s far more to it than that. I can assure you, as someone who has trained for many years, it’s about showing that you have the best skill set and level of discipline in the world of martial arts. A lot of fighters don’t actually enjoy hurting people, but if you’re both aware of and willing to take the risk to prove you’re the best, then it’s a bit easier to get physical. I know I don’t like hurting people but I enjoy the competition aspect and showing my skills, although I’m most definitely not on this level. I can understand how it comes off as brutal, but if you look deeper, it really is a beautiful sport🙏🏻
My English is not good , fighting is come a long way , just remember that it's martial arts come from the culture of the people around the world , that's why it's often call self defense , maybe you never get bullied , robbed or just getting attacked by bad guy and you can't run then the only way to survive is violence , it's either you or the bad guy then mix martial arts or wanted to hurt someone is making sense to you

Good one, although to properly know the sport, submissions should be included. There are rules too; no eyes, gouging, biting, hair grabs, brain stem/back of head or the family jewels, for a start....and too right, female fighters would be interesting.
it seemed like it was painful for the man in the middle to watch. the old guy didn't believe it was real and the other guy made his tea a little to strong that morning and was fighting a bad case of the nods. you should have shown them full matches not blood thirsty ko highlights. you're gonna give them the idea that is is just human cock-fighting!

All right sorry to tell you gentlemen those weren't even bad those are just Knockouts knockout means the battle is over some of the worst are when they don't get Knocked Up I'll see some real killer fights clay Guida the carpenter that's what they called him the dude was a beast just bloody battles. And I'm with you when UFC first came out I was younger a lot younger and I was like yeah it's pretty cool and I just can't see wanting to harm another individual I guess I'm 20 years older now so yeah I hate watching these guys hurt themselves
I know it's your first time checking it up but there's rules but very very little rules because it's mixed martial arts karate is a lot of kicks Judo is a lot of throws wrestling is wrestling and boxing his boxing so if you throw all that together you're grabbing somebody throwing them putting them in arm locks rear naked chokes Kimora stuff like that the Jujitsu part is to or no Judo part is to try to submit somebody the boxing is to try to knock somebody out the wrestling is to try to tap somebody out too or just ground and pound the crap out of them
