On March 12, 2014, the DLSU Lady Spikers & the Ateneo Lady Eagles battled for Game 3 of UAAP76 Finals. This controversial call was made, extended the finals series to a deciding Game 4 and kept Ateneo's hope for 1st title alive. If this was today, what would most likely happen?

In my perspective, it was actually a good call but a wrong one. Instead of a double violation, it was supposed to be an overreaching for kim. Kim was a back-liner so since her set touched alyssa’s block, it will really be called a violation. It can also be as a lifting violation. Although in another case, alyssa can also be called for an overreaching violation.

That was rightfully Ateneo’s point. Fajardo was able to make contact with the ball and attempted to set it, however it was too close to the net that she actually set it into the blocker’s (Valdez) hands. With that being said, the call should have been an overreaching violation because Fajardo is in the backline, not double contact.

It was a double contact. Wrong hand signal lang sa ref pero it was Ateneo's point. Very crucial yang point na yan pero sa slowmo kita naman na nauna double contact ni Kim Fajardo.

I will not blame the ADMU for this, but will definitely call out the referees. Oh well 😊

Halatang pinaboran ang ATENEO😢 tapos pinagyayabang pa nila yan ditalaga sila marunong tumingin at tumanggap ng mali.

Medyo unfair nga yung call. Tie sana pero momentum kasi nasa Ateneo rin. Pero yun nga, it could've spelled a different outcome.

It was a good play, ang dapat tinawagan ng call eh si AV for over- reaching. 🙁

That's how I see it too. Kung lifting yung bashan baka mas acceptable kesa sa double na call.

i guess "double contact" ang tamang call.. tumama muna sa kamay ni kim yung ball (nang hindi sabay sa fingers ng left and right hand) before tumama block ni AV :D
though mali yung signal ni ref haha replay in slow mo..
