OMGoodness! I must practice to make the creation of flashcards fluid and seamless, but I absolutely love this! I immediately think of my ESL AND ELL students, but this cannot also be used to create flashcards for key words in literature and composition. What an invaluable resource! Thank you so much, especially as COVID-19 is pushing teaching in the traditional classroom to a virtual platform.
You are great teacher. It`s about one week that i been watching all your tutorials on youtube and i have been saving money beside i learned to make my owne webside for free. Thank you for your effort.
2:57 Here you can only select cell (and make it absolute by using F5 on keybord between number and lithera) where you type three litheras (or two, special case - is japanese and chinese languages) to define language. PS. GoogleTranslate() function sometimes give you a not correct translate (in case you translate the sentense or statement, clauses, phrases) you can compare it using Google translate in browser or you may try to make columns with sentense and paste it to Google Translate according to rows limit
Great. Thanks. I would like to have the ENG on one side and the other language on the other. But I can see how this could be done with something like business card blanks. Also, I think you could use a merge function rather than autocrat. But I am not familiar with Sheets so I maybe thinking of an Excel function.
This is great and really helps considerably. Thank You! Could you please describe how to add pictures to the flashcards? Do you add them into a separate column on the Google Sheets and match them in AutoCrat? Also, if adding vocabulary to the Google Sheet over time, can AutoCrat update that? Thanks again.
Great help! I’ve never been able to use sheets very well and you’ve solved many other questions with Mail Merge, along with utilizing Google Translate in a So many ways. Thanks
Wow, great tips thanks a lot. I wasn't even aware Google had Office like tools. I will make a lot of flashcards for my kids to teach them new words in a vast array of languages and introduce my wife (who is a teacher) to those new tools as well. Again, thank you, this is really helpful!
That's great to hear! I hope you enjoy my other videos as well. Many more tips for educators and I post new ones every week. So great to have you here!
Great Video Sethi! I will try to make some Japanese flashcards using this method. I would also like to add some images and audio to the flashcards. Is this easy to do?
So after you created the flash card file, what could it be used for? Do you create a slide show with the English showing, and then do a click animation for the foreign language to appear?
Hi, There are many things you can do. You can use them on Interactive Whiteboards or set up the slideshow to function as a quiz. The main purpose I use this for is class resource creation. Which would mean you generate many cards and have them printed/Laminated for keeping in your classroom. These can then be use for revision, teaching, games, etc. Hope this helps.
This is a great tip, really.Thank so much. Could it be possible to get it on digital version too ? Students are all glued to their smartphone, so it would be perfect to have flascard usable on their device for self learning or playing with friends... :)
Hey. that was great.🤩I have only one problem. How can I do this for Chinese? I want one side of the word to be Chinese and the other side to be repeated Pin Yin and even the Chinese word itself with its meaning. Please help.😘
Could you please help, where do I find those double Tags you place around the Languages (8.47 minutes) ie= Eng, ES , FR and NL on the Keyboard > is there a single Key that reproduces instead of using Double
hi, how can I fix this> Error: Tags fetching failed. Please make sure type in all tags in your template manually. AutoCrat won't fetch tags that are from copy & paste
That permission is part of the api and how its able to read and create new files in your drive automatically. The only thing you can do witgout autocrat it the translating. You would have to manually copy paste, to create the flashcards if you dont trust the app. That being said, Autocrat is definitely trustable.
@ Good suggestion, unfortunately it wouldn't always work because my target language, German, has awkward Grammar, the definite articles for feminine and plural words are the same, "die", but are treated grammatically differently. So if I generate a long list from a document, which was my goal, I would have to manually go through the list and make sure that there are no plurals. Also, I would rather leave the plurals in, as the plural form is not always obvious in German.
Awesome trick. By the way, your tutorials about new google sites helped me a lot. Please post such tweaks more.
Will do! Thank you for leaving a comment and joining in the discussion!
This was just WONDERFUL! You will be featured on our blog this week for sure!
Thank you so much! Sounds great! Glad you liked it.

Haven't found an automatically way but maybe consider using mote to add audio? Git a video on mite for slides on my main videos page.

I have to use (;) insted of (,) to make it work
Hello, thanks for the video. How to do the same but for online/live flashcards instead of printing them ?
There are some services that will let you make online flashcards, however translations are not part of that. I will see what I can find.
@@FlippedClassroomTutorials It'd be awesome ! Thank you. I'll post here if ever i find a way
Is there any way to do this WITHOUT autocrat
I distrust an app which claims the right to read AND delete any and all of my files obviously.
That permission is part of the api and how its able to read and create new files in your drive automatically. The only thing you can do witgout autocrat it the translating. You would have to manually copy paste, to create the flashcards if you dont trust the app. That being said, Autocrat is definitely trustable.
You can export from google sheet then import into anki, memrise or quizlet.
Any other flashcards system where you can create or import your cards ?
Is there a language code for Georgia?
How can i enable hey sire or OK google
Is there a way to make the spreadsheet pull the grammatical gender of words?
Just type in "the" before every noun in the English column.
