Bette Davis shows how a talented pro performs poetry, and rhyming poetry at that! Wonderful job! Take note of the diction, the rhythm, and the spot on tone. Not overdone, just right.
10:30 rivers could be literally using the same comedy lines as she did today that 60 years ago. Crazy. She never really changed because she had an book shelf of jokes she had every day she was alive. It's literally 1000s of them. She used jokes from every generation when she was older too. RIP to all lost. Amazing talent.
It aired seven years after I born. Missed it then, got it now. I do keep up a steady stream of jokes. The POTUS has helped keep up the steady flow. He could be the first person executed for treason against a state. Check Article IV.
To MISS GAIL:I came across your TRIBUTES to MR VINCE EDWARDS on just about all of VINCE,S appearences on the YOU TUBE film clips!! If by chance it is a doctor series you care for DOCTOR KILDARE has every episode crystal clear with no commercials available by typing in to keyboard: DOCTOR KILDARE TV SERIES:INTERNET ARCHIVE. Thats all you need to do but unfortunately BEN CASEY is not available (not yet that is) on INTERNET ARCHIVE* MEDICAL CENTER*CANNON*GET SMART*HOGANS HEROS*KOJAK*KOLCHAK NIGHT STALKER*MAN FROM UNCLE/IMMORTAL are available with every episode! BARNABY JONES/BANACEK/MANNIX have a lot of thier episodes also!! Remember to type in a title of a past tv series or movie and add the name: INTERNET ARCHIVE! Keep admiring VINCE and YOU TUBE has an uploader putting on a good number of BEN CASEY episodes!!
I'm so depressed after watching this but only because I miss each of them, I miss the times, I miss all of it. The singers today, the actors, are All "wannabees," nothing more. And even the decent ones are so very full of themselves. Even All of today's Awards shows have changed. The "Stars" are right here folks, the real ones, so enjoy. Enjoy a REAL show. Boy do I miss them. And all of the Class.. went with them.
The financial world has no heart, but its brain is in Manhattan, former home of the heart of entertainment. I love them gals with balls, the Monkey Sisters.
The crack about astrogliomas and glioblastomas must have been Greek to Bette's ears. They are both brain tumors, as are gliomas. Bette's character in "Dark Victory" died of a glioma. Four decades later, Bette wrote that she died of glaucoma. Not good, but not as bad.
Joan Carles Tomàs Forteza She peaked during Cabaret. Even then, she was good, but not great like her mother. I don't mean to say Liza isn't talented, just that she's like a downgrade version of her mother..
I disagree, she evolved and became a superstar & a great entertainer in the 70s, just like her mother was. And she achieved even more > Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, Tony, Golden Globe, and many more. Her singing is definitely different, but she delivered some great & larger than life performances in NEW YORK, NEW YORK, THE ACT, CABARET, and delivered exceptional albums like RESULTS, THE SINGER & the 2 Carnegie Hall Albums
+Joan Carles -- Yes, I believe you are right. She seems a big rough all around. Her singing and dancing improved considerably. I saw her on Phil Donahue's show (on UA-cam) around the time the move "Stepping Out" was in the theaters) and she was enormously poised and graceful. A real charmer.
How wonderful to watch the brilliant gorgeous Vince Edwards ❤️🕊️💕
I remember my folks having this show on in the late 1960s, cuz I was just born in June 1965 🌷💛🌷🌸

Bette Davis, Joan Rivers and Liza Minnelli on the same show
A much simpler time, thanks for posting...
Terrific to see all these performers on one show. I never knew Vince Edwards was a singer. And just an all-round charming guy.
Great show and enjoyed very much Vince’s concluding medley. Thank you .
This aired TWO WEEKS before the day I was born. My mom may have actually watched this!

In Loving Memory of Vince Edwards who passed away 18 years ago today. Love and miss you Vince

Wonderful, and l never knew Better Davis was so tiny: she was a powerhouse with her dynamic persona!
I forgot vince could sing. how wonderful to relive these type shows. thanks for posting
I was amazed when Vince Edwards, famous for playing the surly Ben Casey, came out and sang with a smile.
It's the ads that I love
DID NOT KNOW VINCE COULD SING LIKE THAT!!!!
vince singing maria is beautiful
Liza's male dancers were just exquisite---especially the more heavyset guy! He's just fantastic! I wonder who he is?
Vince Edwards is A Smooth Singer
The best handsome Vincent Edwards, Joan one of a kind brilliant, Bette Davis the greatest actress ever, wonderful t.v. , gone today.
The Muriel Cigar ad is wonderful to see!
what a great lineup!
JOAN RIVERS! SHE'S A CHARMING YOUNG LADY...
Sweet.
what a lovely man
Nice to see Edie Adams as triplets in that cigar ad. (24:23) Muriel Cigars
RIP JOAN RIVERS
Happy Birthday Liza. @ 25:37 one of her greatest performances. What fueled the urgency and the Passion?

🙄
Who knew Ben Casey could sing? He's really not too bad.
I lknow huh!!!
wow.
Ironically, "BEN CASEY" was cancelled a month after this was originally telecast (daytime repeats on ABC continued through 1967).
I was going to wash Bravo with spaghetti sauce, but I'll follow the commercial's advice.
What is the best placement of the jump catching rod in the front of the high jumper so as to Miss most certainly
Vince Edwards - one of the biggest male stars ever although Jon Hamm is a contender.
Oh, I didnt' know Vince was that huge too.
He's sings pretty well
THIS IS SO GAY I LOVE IT! Rowe after Rowe of pink tents, camp, camp, camp.
I wonder if Clara recommended Haley's M-O to Aunt Bea...
Of course l meant Bette! Sorry for the previous auto-correct typo. Grrrr...😣
lol 😊
Christ that bit at 13:10 - that passed for entertainment haha
+stoph2 not quite as bad as the performing elephants IMHO
The financial world has no heart, but its brain is in Manhattan, former home of the heart of entertainment.
I love them gals with balls, the Monkey Sisters.
14:17... still the Bayer slogan today.
How tough is Bravo? If you bang your head on it, you'll need Bayer.
Liza was so young. The camera did her no favor by giving her all those close ups.
Did the elephant trainer really hurt Tina?
Amazing nose!
What year was this aired?
But more importantly...HOW did Liza keep that hairpiece on?
LMAO... She was phenomenal

Wait, is this a SNL sketch?
.....these "Talent Shows" were so Freaking....Psycho !
She could not NOT work. Game for anything.
Good lord! That use to be called entertainment ... UGH!
So sorry for you. Oh, and it's " used" to be called.
Liza didn't have a voice like her mother's. Judy at 20 years old would have blown Liza off the stage. I always thought Liza was just mediocre.
Liza has learned a lot since then

millers3888 Both voices are just fine. "Rainbow" makes me cry, and I adore "Cabaret".

Joan Rivers 🤮
