SEVENT9 // Steering Lock Delete (The Safe Way)

  • There are many wrong ways to disable your steering lock. This is the right (and safe) way to do it. After my steering locked on me mid-drive I decided the only way for true peace of mind would be to pull the lock and drill out the locking pin. This is how I did it.

    I recently had my lock mechanism out to rekey the ignition. I came across a tip on how to remove the sheer bolts that worked for me… take needle nose vice grips and grip the head of the bolt and turn. I was surprised at what low torque the sheer bolts snapped off at since this technique worked. Worth a try before spending 30 min with a drill.
