One thing I don’t see talked about a lot is the experience factor. Most players regardless of server or ping are used to fighting low ping players, and thus have more experience with them. So when you have a low ping player vs a high ping player, it’s just a normal game for the high ping player, but the low ping player has to completely adjust their play style. Maybe not gamebreaking, but I thought I’d mention it.
that's only for actually good high ping players like if a t1 logged on an australian server. Most of the time high ping players aren't that good and would probably lose against a good players
on top of that it's not like the high ping player never has to adjust either, fighting a low or high pinger still affects their fights even if they are the one with higher ping
@@Kart high ping player still has to adjust but they are more used to fighting low ping since they most likely primarily fight low ping players (eg if an AU player is playing NA stray where most ppl have like 30ms). Idk about other modes but for 1.9 sword specifically you need to change your play style so much when fighting high ping, and getting good at this only comes with practice
High ping is a huge disadvantage when in gamemodes involving placing blocks. When trying to place blocks to block off opponents, block in or something like that, the blocks will almost always disappear, resulting in my death. Yet when you are chasing a low player it is almost impossible to hit them due to hit reg. If the player were to turn and place blocks you will almost always get stuck in it. When people say high ping is an advantage it really annoys me for this reason.
There are a lot more disadvantages in shield pvp for high ms, for example, blocking a backstab is almost near impossible on 250+ ms, Trying to land predictions are even harder, as unshielding to hit someone who you think would make a move(predicting) would be heavily delayed and the high ping player can be easily baited into getting the other players shield if the low ping player were to instant shield, thus resulting in a free autohit for the low ping player. Also not to mention blocking a stun is also impossible in this ms, which renders stun blocks useless, and bow and crossbow delay is also confusing. The only playstyle that is good for high ping pvp would be aggressive playstyle, as defensive playstyle really depends on shield delay and bow delay, If an individual were to play defensive in 250+ ms, they are going to lose 14/15 times. The bow delay could be dealt with if a player were to learn bow timings in lag, but as someone who constantly switches between servers that are in different regions, the timings become almost impossible to learn, and the visual bow and crossbow loading delay would only make this worse. The only reason high ping is good for aggressive playstyle in axe, is because there is no need to block backstabs or stuns if you are the one stunning, and the delayed knockback would help the player to hold a sword crit chain longer. Zilch plays a bit more agro in high ping than in low ping, which is why he is able to do good. High ping in axe & shield forces you to play a specific way and you have a limited number of strategies and playstyles you can use, compared to low ping. Good luck on your server, I am looking forward to how you deal with lag issues, hope you keep shields in mind as well!

I usually get relatively stable 220-280ms (depending on the server) and in high ping sword pvp strafing a ton and generally making your movement unpredictable allows you to keep hitting your opponent without them being able to effectively aim at you. I've found this works best when circling your opponent by about 180 degrees and then going back the other way. High ping also allows you to get inside and behind your opponent before they have time to react allowing you to get a couple extra hits while they try to find you again

I don’t know how I feel about the plugin you’re developing for sword pvp. The 1.9 community has been playing with knockback scaling for forever and the gamemode would become much different to how it’s always been. If your server is the only one with the plugin, players would have to learn 2 different kinds of similar, but different sword pvp. Furthermore, the old community has already been a wreck since stray blew up, and this would only divide the community even further
There is this very special laginator called clumsy, it allows you to lag you from both the clients side and the servers side, basically what I mean is on one hand you can lag from your view, but on the other hand you can lag from the other persons view but not your own. this is actually a huge advantage and I used it in strongest battlegrounds and 90% nobody could hit me
A tip for those who don't know, a trick to comboing opponents with 80-150 ms is to hit slightly slower to still keep them in a consistant combo, while for 160+ hitting at very fast speed can actually cause them to take more knockback than normal, with the exception of getting launched to the ground instead.
High ping is a huge disadvantage, I literally can't rod, place blocks to block or quick bow low ping players and for most gamemodes these are the core mechanics in pvp. Also high ping reach is literally less because lower ping people can reach us before we reach them.
5:52 Your hits do indeed cancel if the lower ms player is too far server side. For example imagine you are chasing a lower ms player. In your screen he might look 2 - 3 blocks away, but in their screen(and the server) he is more than 3 blocks away. Hence you can reach him client side but not server side. I have experienced this multiple times(my ping is stable) and it doesn't help that clicking on a player slows you down. So if you misjudge the server distance you will slow yourself down and the player will just get further away.
Let me clear something: As you mentioned before in your video, people with high ping take reduced knocback. This does not only happens when you try to combo high ping players, but also when you try to hit them only once (as they keep teleporting). Meanwhile, knocback contains 3 different components on cartesian coordinate system: X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis. We know that as opponents ping values gets higher, it becomes more tough to knocback them when we hit, including the y-axis component. Crystal pvp is based on how high your opponents fly, as you put your crystal under the obsidian block, and deal massive amount of damage. Considering the fact that it is pretty hard to knocback a player constantly teleporting, it is also compelling to kill them by using your crystals. For this reason, I believe that having high ping values compared to your opponent, can actually become an enormous advantage for you, as it will get much harder for both of you and your opponent to crystal each other. Even you might be a really newbie (noob) player, you can easily kill pro players just by luck (two crystals can easily kill anybody even with totems depending on burst damage per second). I have been fighting really high ping players for a long amount of time, and I have actually experienced this type of situation so much that I can believe this reasoning without doubting. Of course, there will be much more aspects than I just mentioned, however the one I wrote majorly effects the pvp.
Yes, but when you have bad enough ping to be teleporting everywhere, chances are 80% of your hits and crystals that you break are extremely delayed and probably won't do as much damage as your opponent can do with just their sword. When you have a fluctuating or a very high ping 90% of the things you do never register hence the teleporting. So if I were a skilled high ping player there's probably a 10% chance i would win against a low ping player of similar strength (in 1.19 ofc). The things you said will happen but 9/10 times it won't end in the high ping player winning.
Yeahh the video is now up. I was actually here in the stream when you did this. I watched the entire stream and it was amazing. Sort of behind the scenes. Edit: I see what you did there at 5:53. Totally not referring to any server *coughs* Hypixel.
Calling it lag kinda says that it’s an internet issue opposed to a connection “issue”. High ping while making it harder to combo, is also (in my experience) easy to counter if you strafe a lot. Also all players can easily be good if they tried but saying one or two players that could win against players on the other spectrum of ping doesn’t bring much to an argument. Sorry if this came off as hateful, just some points.
5:42 I'm pretty sure the pvp legacy server host was moved so now australians get a constant 260ms which is significantly harder to use a shield on then 200ms
As someone who lives in Australia and gets >200ms on most servers, I would argue that the worst thing about high pung is just that it feels worse to play than low ping. Even though you can argue that 'well actually if you play in a very specific style and predict every move from your opponent then high ping good', theres no denying that it simply feels worse, so I prefer to stick to Oceania based servers just because it feels better, not because I'M better, if I'm being honest I'm probably better at playing on high ping servers, but I just hate how terrible the delay feels. Tldr: high ping feel bad low ping feel good
Being asian I usually hover around 250ms and normally beat t3s in sword or axe and 50/50 with lt2s in neth pot, although as 100% guarantee all of them would sweep me in uhc or crystal considering the cobweb/crystal delay.
I was once on a Hypixel Housing event for Skyblock coins. It was a red rover event and my ping was so bad that on everyone else’s screen, I was just teleporting from one side to another. They gave me a consolation prize of sb coins since I was “too laggy to play”
Personally i get a constant 220+ ms on servers like hypixel and frankly its really annoying but there have been those rare moments where it provided me an advantage due to lag
I think that its a disadvantage, when someone like me with 230 ping verses someone with 50-80 ping, the kb in the fight is probs to my favour, hits will be delayed but they will still do the full amount of kb because the person has such low ping, but when i verse someone with 110-150 ping, the kb in the fight is to their favour as i dont do enough kb because my hits are delayed and they have somewhat high ping, so for me to be able to do kb i have to do w and s taps at the same time to be able to compete
Heya intel, i enjoyed the content! I can't wait for the server. I am wondering if it would be possible to send me your plugin / the plugin and the config to remove the knockback scaling as this would help me a lot for my own minecraft network. Thanks!
Bedrock player here, high ping is absolutely painful in both normal and sweaty pvp. All ur projectiles are delayed and the hit delay is painful. The hit delay almost always ensures that they do not get the first hit and they will get double hit very VERY easily (it’s a lot easier to combo on bedrock and all it takes is just 2 hits to get an instant combo) the projectiles are very self explanatory. High cps can actually compensate high ping as long as u aim properly and it’s like somewhere between 80-120. There’s one thing that high ping players can’t do, and it’s bow spamming in the middle of trades. This is very rare, but quite common to see in scrims and when used properly, the player doing this will get a almost guaranteed combo within the first or second trade, even if the guy kb jumps. However, it is impossible to do this on high ping as the delayed shot makes it impossible to pull it off
Well another thing is with ping 40-60 (my ping range) you also get hit through your shield by low ping and high ping, (btw ping generally works in chunks of 20 so when I have went down to 39 ping occasionally on Kiwiland I could actually instashield) not that people with really high ping and lag don't have a disadvantage, but generally if you have good internet but play on a server far away that can be a crazy advantage. Like me with good internet, I played on Leyon with 150 ping one time on ethernet and it was really not that terrible
And also like it's kinda hard to block early with me getting hit through my shield constantly because it heavily slows down your movement and people can literally hit through my shield like 3/4 a second or more after i blocked
Lag can never be an advantage, while STABLE high ping can sometimes be. Low ping is still overall better tho Edit: i said this before watching the video, dont boo me in the replies
good video; but often the 1hp situation is encountered and is a real disadvantage. Another thing you forgot to mention was in time-based games, like the bridge. higher-ping players are at a disadvantage there.
1.8 pvp on 200ms is cracked. I can reject bows and get crazy hits from miles away, my blocks sometimes disappear although it won’t mostly do that. Hit reg is not a problem if you just make sure to get closer before you get the first hit one them
about that server you're working on for 1.19 that fixes lag with crystal pvp and removes knockback scaling. i'm guessing its gonna be a normal practice pvp/arena pvp server which is fine, but i personally would like that server to be a minigame server network like hypixel, but on 1.19 with the knockback scaling removed and the fixed crystal lag ping while of course keeping the practice pvp as its own mode.
high ping is also bad with block placement compared to low ping players, becos if u try to block low ping players whilst they're running they just go through the blocks and lag back is really annoying when other ppl place blocks. also, idk if this only happens to me, but when i do sword pvp on high ping (260) ms its very hard to combo people because my hits take a while to register and then i have to adjust to their kb when they get hit in a weird direction which is especially annoying if you are trying to critspam or maintain distance.
@ Intel Edits 6:14 , this is not true, having a lower ping than your opponent increases the chance of getting the first hit, instead of trading hits, so it also matters when trying to start a combo as having the first hit increses your chance of a combo.
The thing with axe pvp is that even if there are good player with high ping that deosnt mean it wasnt much harder for them to get better then a low ping better
I think Intel does have a pont, and i dont know if he regulairly plays on high ping or not, but the advantages that come with it are way harder to master (predicting shields and getting delayed hits without messing up a combo etc) and i still think its way more easy to play with low ping (getting first hit having KB register fast so u can adjust to the place u get hit to and not not having to master a whole new skill wich is shield predictions). also the problem of not being able to combo somone of their high MS is no problem if u have low MS cause u can just stop walking into them a bit longer and than start a new combo since u always get first hit. And also he did not talk about projectiles blocks getting removed or any other factors wich comes with SMP type pvp, he only talked about flat wrold 1v1s.
Idk maybe it just happens to me that low ping players do so much kb to me it's like reach hax to me and high ping players just don't take kb and tp sometimes and I can't do anything w taps and s taps do nothing, btw I play at 100 ping avg
In 1.7 & 1.8 pvp, high ping only becomes an advantage if you catch your opponent off guard that you have high ping (e.g. Hypixel where ping isn't displayed), or if the opponent doesn't know how to play differently against high ping. but after the player knows that the opponent has high ping and they know how to play around high ping, the high ping player lost their only advantage and the fight becomes even. This was evident in Technoblade's duel against dream. The first thing Techno did was "I threw a couple of rods just to get familiar with the ping"
Hey Intel, I was interested in the new Retro Skyline deskmat design on the flowshop. Is it available yet and if so how can i get it. If it is not do you know when it is releasing? Thanks, great content i liked and subscribed

@@IntelEdits Problem is if other servers start doing it. That's what I'm most scared of
uploading every week gotta love a new intel edits video
There is this very special laginator called clumsy, it allows you to lag you from both the clients side and the servers side, basically what I mean is on one hand you can lag from your view, but on the other hand you can lag from the other persons view but not your own. this is actually a huge advantage and I used it in strongest battlegrounds and 90% nobody could hit me
A tip for those who don't know, a trick to comboing opponents with 80-150 ms is to hit slightly slower to still keep them in a consistant combo, while for 160+ hitting at very fast speed can actually cause them to take more knockback than normal, with the exception of getting launched to the ground instead.
thats low ping tho...
@@bloom-mania not really 80-150 ms is at the point when you take reduced kb. around 50 ping is alright I think
@@bloom-mania less than 70 is what I would consider "low ping"
@@VamirB 50??? thats the best ping iv ever seen in mc and its not like i have bad wifi either in most fps games i get around 30
@@NickyADuck thats ultra low ping lol 70 is low
In my opinion 100/120 ping (on average) is the best BC you kinda rarely get lag spikes and you can still take advantage of the kB reduction.
1:00 Not necessarily, it works well in some games like the bridge. It's generally bad, but not always bad.
High ping is a huge disadvantage, I literally can't rod, place blocks to block or quick bow low ping players and for most gamemodes these are the core mechanics in pvp. Also high ping reach is literally less because lower ping people can reach us before we reach them.
Excited for the server
as a person who averages 350 ping i can say the hit reg problem on hypixel is insane
Server side reach is 6 blocks, client is 3. If you are within 3 blocks on the client and under 6 on the server your hit will register
1:08 let’s just appreciate the line that this guy just drew.
The things you said will happen but 9/10 times it won't end in the high ping player winning.
but intel edits just explained that crystals go MUCH slower it'll take at least a second to double crystal someone and probably more
thats just luck imo
@@tiki2tgt whats luck?
Good video Intel!
Let’s go 🎉🎉🎉🎉
5:42 I'm pretty sure the pvp legacy server host was moved so now australians get a constant 260ms which is significantly harder to use a shield on then 200ms
Legacy laggy no matter where your living.
Love your videos
Depends on the gamemode
I'm loving these videos.
Does he even give 2 fs for 1.8
I also get 220+ ms bro it really annoys
hypixels hit reg on high ping is trash, i suggest going to other servers to pvp (especially one with good hit reg)
Intel, your videos are just too insane. And that’s a good thing!!! Stay safe and continue this awesome content! P.S. your 100% my favorite MC YTber
Nice keep growing sir
very good video ngl, cant wait for the server to be released btw is it cracked?
Amazing video, keep it up
I think that its a disadvantage, when someone like me with 230 ping verses someone with 50-80 ping, the kb in the fight is probs to my favour, hits will be delayed but they will still do the full amount of kb because the person has such low ping, but when i verse someone with 110-150 ping, the kb in the fight is to their favour as i dont do enough kb because my hits are delayed and they have somewhat high ping, so for me to be able to do kb i have to do w and s taps at the same time to be able to compete
WAIT WHEN IS THE FIX FOR CRYSTAL PVP COMING OUT?
Heya intel, i enjoyed the content! I can't wait for the server. I am wondering if it would be possible to send me your plugin / the plugin and the config to remove the knockback scaling as this would help me a lot for my own minecraft network. Thanks!
0:00 that was me
Bedrock player here, high ping is absolutely painful in both normal and sweaty pvp. However, it is impossible to do this on high ping as the delayed shot makes it impossible to pull it off
Hi Intel Like I'm following ur steps and strategy's and I'm being good in gameplay and PvP I really love your content
You don't need lag for advantage you are PvP god
4:20 is that the Marlow one
Please be my math teacher you explain better than any teacher i know
2 videos in 2 weeks!!
does eli is back?
You r good at this
Lag can never be an advantage, while STABLE high ping can sometimes be. Low ping is still overall better tho
Edit: i said this before watching the video, dont boo me in the replies
Oob
R/whoosh
Not even sometimes, but rarely high ping can be somewhat of an advantage
@@Hypermanne what does not getting a joke have to do with my comment? Lmao
good video; but often the 1hp situation is encountered and is a real disadvantage.
Another thing you forgot to mention was in time-based games, like the bridge. higher-ping players are at a disadvantage there.
I was in the stream of recording this video !!!
at 5:13 that is actually my footage; not zilch’s and no zilch is not tier 1
didn’t realize at the time while editing, sorry for the mixup!
It's like asking where is the sun in a clear sky at Day...
Hey Intel
Intel is becoming the saviour of latest version pvp
i got so surprised when i saw tufninja's skin there LOL i forgot that its a pokemon
1.8 pvp on 200ms is cracked.
I can reject bows and get crazy hits from miles away, my blocks sometimes disappear although it won’t mostly do that.
Hit reg is not a problem if you just make sure to get closer before you get the first hit one them
NEW SERVER!? pog
zilch was t1 in the oce list but ht3 in the worldwide list
about that server you're working on for 1.19 that fixes lag with crystal pvp and removes knockback scaling. i'm guessing its gonna be a normal practice pvp/arena pvp server which is fine, but i personally would like that server to be a minigame server network like hypixel, but on 1.19 with the knockback scaling removed and the fixed crystal lag ping while of course keeping the practice pvp as its own mode.
Keep up the great work my top g
high ping is also bad with block placement compared to low ping players, becos if u try to block low ping players whilst they're running they just go through the blocks and lag back is really annoying when other ppl place blocks. also, idk if this only happens to me, but when i do sword pvp on high ping (260) ms its very hard to combo people because my hits take a while to register and then i have to adjust to their kb when they get hit in a weird direction which is especially annoying if you are trying to critspam or maintain distance.
ashswag: YES
@ Intel Edits 6:14 , this is not true, having a lower ping than your opponent increases the chance of getting the first hit, instead of trading hits, so it also matters when trying to start a combo as having the first hit increses your chance of a combo.
Intell edits big fan dude I'm also a pvpier now
The thing with axe pvp is that even if there are good player with high ping that deosnt mean it wasnt much harder for them to get better then a low ping better
Intel I want your old video like stream highlights that was insane❤️🔥
As a guy playing hypixel from new zealand with constant 200ms it isnt all that different except for when you lose in an equal position because of ping
Just my experience
does regedits matter? , because whenever i apply a different one i feel like the knock back is different.
if you have poor internet some tweaks can improve your ping slightly but otherwise nah
Thanks, great content i liked and subscribed
as someone who has played on HYPIXEL for over a year now on both 150 ms and 75 ms, high ping from 150ish - 120ish is an advantage when mastered
I changed my house for like 2 months and I didn't have my WiFi so I was using mobile network and it had high ping
So when I jumped of a bridge to block cluth and sometime when i fail , i lag back back to the bridge this has saved me sometimes
there's a way to abuse shield delay so basically it's hard to explain but you have to shield hit shield, shield first before hitting, it's most likely it's tricks the server that your shielding
I became good at bedwars watching intel my brother told to watch you and learn how to play now I am good bedwars player
i have a question about ping because I live in asia and most big servers are in na or eu so if I was to use a VPN to move closer to the where the server is hosted will it lower the ping so if I were to use a VPN to change my location to the US would I have lower ping?
