    Her answers and insight are so razor sharp. I can’t wait to see what she does next. Little Women and Lady Bird are both modern masterpieces

    It's the humility of a greatly talented person who seems unsure of how very talented they are that impresses me. Greta is a treasure. A moving interview. A moving film.

    There are lots of male-directed movies that get great reviews without getting an Oscar nomination. But of course it's sexism when it happens to a woman.

    • @juancho2392
      @juancho2392 5 років тому +1

      Couldn't said it better. I feel like women think they deserve award nominations based on their gender rather than their movies

    • @SthembisoMatenjwa
      @SthembisoMatenjwa 3 роки тому +1

      This makes 0 sense. For two reasons: 1. If it's a great movie and males dont get nominated, they always make a fuss too. 2. This isn't just a movie with good reviews, it was one of the best movies of 2019 so it should've been recognized as such

  • @handheldroyorbison169

    Yeah, it's been done.

    • @AbcDef-ww2gy
      @AbcDef-ww2gy 5 років тому +18

      No, it has NOT been done. This version is an utterly unique deconstruction of the book and the author. It has now turned into an ensemble piece rather than only following the protagonist, Jo.

    • @myytchanneldinakoha8498
      @myytchanneldinakoha8498 5 років тому

      Abc Def The 1933 version was a vehicle for Kate Hepburn, but the 1949 and 1994 were ensemble. That’s why they hired Elizabeth Taylor and Janet Leigh (‘49) and made stars (or bigger stars) out of Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes and Christian Bale.

    • @myytchanneldinakoha8498
      @myytchanneldinakoha8498 5 років тому +1

      Abc Def Not to mention Susan Sarandon was Marmee. But, yes, this new version is a bit different and in tune with the times.

    • @AbcDef-ww2gy
      @AbcDef-ww2gy 5 років тому +3

      @@myytchanneldinakoha8498 Of course the previous versions had good actors in the supporting roles. The difference is that the storyline always followed Jo, never anyone else. All the scenes between Amy and Laurie here, especially, are an innovation, since in the previous versions Jo learns about the developments and that's that. We don't see the other characters' backstories.

    constant repeating of the past novels into movies ... no longer has it place in history.. it make no sense to those who've never lived it. Stop boring us, please?

    • @sophiacook5713

      Famous dead guy said - "The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past."
      Several of aforementioned dead guy's novels were made into movies. As were writings from Shakespeare, Dickens, Tolstoy, Bronte, Twain. And don't get me started on King Arthur. I think not many people agree that the stories of past eras are boring or lack sense. Maybe it's just that this is a story about women, by a woman, made into a film by a woman. It's ok if you don't want to see it--but don't suggest it is boring in itself. It is simply not your taste--but it is definitely the taste of the many people who read the book and resonated with this particularly masterful adaptation.

      Remaking Little Women every generation or so is a testament to the author’s genius. It remains relevant and relatable and certainly creates a new space in every generation’s history.

    • @AbcDef-ww2gy
      @AbcDef-ww2gy 5 років тому +14

      "... it makes no sense to those who've never lived it." There it is. The biggest drawback to being an old white straight male like yourself is that you have little empathy for people who have lived different lives to yourself. Learn some empathy for other humans and broaden your mind. Until you can do that, please stop boring us with your boring UA-cam comments.
