    Other MicroChannel licensees: Tandy, Compaq (never shipped though), Nixdorf, NCR, Olivetti, Dell (don't believe they shipped though either), and a few more.

      I would imagine they never shipped because VESA, EISA and PCI were significantly cheaper to design around and far more peripherals existed to utilize them

    I have this card and it sounds great on many of the games on my PS/2 57 SX. First, I want to thank you for making an awesome product and bringing my DOS PC games to life. Wolf 3D sounds phenominal, and the original Civ and Sim City sound great. I have one issue though:
    When playing the game, I have my sound set to ad-lip, sound effects set to sound blaster. However, whenever there's an earthquake in Sim City, my city goes up into a ball of fire! (But it sounds nice while it happens)

    I bought this card a couple of weeks ago for my 8570-161. It works like a charm 🙂 Totally recommended!

    Love your work Kevin! I already own a lot of the cards you designed and I was able to succesfully rebuild 2 Compaq KeyTronic keyboards using your outstanding foam and foil kits. Sadly you released your MCA variant just a few days after I ordered a Snark Barker from Monotech. It's excellent though how my model 56 SLC3 is now able to bark!
    Keep up the good work! You're making a lot of retro afficianados very happy with your products!

    PS/2 was a desperate attempt by IBM to turn time backwards. There's a saying - Фарш невозможно провернуть назад. 😆

    LOVE everything you do. Any thoughts on a PS/2 MCA IDE board?

      Yes, been working on one here and there as possible. It's being a little bit of a pain, but such is microchannel. I think I'm going to have to run one more PCB to get an issue ironed out, so it may be later this year. Other than the X16, it's my primary focus for now. It will probably be the last MCA card I make, so I'm trying to finish it before I move on to some other projects I've been putting off. :-)

      I would buy that one in day one. Finding good ESDI disks is getting harder and it would be nice to be future proof.

      Is an ESDI to IDE / SD possible? Something that would just fit into the DBA connector the current drive goes into without using and MCA slot? (I guess that only benefits the model 70) I've heard SCSI to ESDI is easier than IDE but not sure myself. Either way, it's very exciting stuff!

    Great work! I like the white, clean PCB design. Will order one for my IBM's soon. :D The test sample sounds are nice too. I like this kind of music. What song is this?

      That's the TexElec theme song! It was written by my friend from back in the day, Craig. Here's his info: facebook.com/threeclife

    I'm thinking of getting this for my IBM PS/2 Model P70. has anyone tried this card in a P70?

    • @TexElec
      @TexElec  Рік тому

      Yes, I have one and it works fine. Unfortunately, the joystick conflicts, but otherwise it works.

    microphone input ?

    • @TexElec
      @TexElec  2 роки тому

      I removed it from this card, because there is very little use for it. Almost no games support it, and a max 11KHz mono sample rate didn't really seem too useful.

      @@TexElec will there be clones of Turtle Beach Systems, Inc. cards, for example, Pinnacle or Gravis Ultrasound MAX and Gravis Ultrasound PNP ? They have a huge potential, including for recording. (translated from google)
