Not much of their previous songs, but Maniac really feels like a Gfriend song. It feels ethereal, sad and happy at the same time

Viviz is like a mix of elegant and sensual with a little bit fun and fresh sound and vibe. the only gfriend song that had that sensual and elegant mix was apple and it wasn't even gfriend sound~
this is their peak music era and I am so proud of them!
I feel like Umji is glowing different since Viviz's debut, but on this MV.... The amount of emotions on her eyes, her voice, the viral choreo part... Love to see her shinning so much

umji really owned this comeback in my opinion. not only is her vocal ability insane, her acting (facial expressions& vocal acting) sold the concept soo well. it seems to me that sinb is more cold and resentful towards this maniac love, while umji desperately clings to it, and eunha is still captivated by it. the storyline in the mv makes it seem like sinb and umji had a falling out, sinb is tired of it but umji wants to fight for them, while eunha mostly stays at umji's side (comforting her). can be interpreted in a friendship view but i really see it as more of a love triangle.

Viviz is really proving themselves to be one of the most consistent groups out there. I haven't disliked ANY of their title tracks and their bsides are generally super solid. The english lyrics in this one throw me a little, but otherwise i can't deny how good it sounds. I appreciated your breakdown of the lyrics!
BTW you should REALLY do a reaction of Untie, it's a b-side of this Maniac EP and they have an MV for it, you will NOT be disappointed 🤭

I find it funny that some people say, "The facial expression is bad; they don't even smile during performances; they look like robots.". LIKE!? HELLO!! This is a sad song; how can you expect a bright smile and eye winking every 2 seconds to this?
Regarding the song, I love it so much. It is very easy to listen to; any time of the day, I can play this song and vibe to it. Please check out their performance video 'Untie', it is very different from 'Maniac'. 😶🌫️

I'm so happy that you finally reacted to it. This song really is up to par for the SOTY. The girls put their 1000/100 in every songs they made. And the girls in this MV are so stunning to look at. Eunha is so doll like. Umji her charisma is overflowing. And I understand your crush for and why you are so enthralled by Sinb, caused yeah, me too. She's so hot here 😊. I love how you are so into the lyrics, caused most will just go to the aesthetic of the MV and the girls visuals which I don't blamed them. And I know you didn't react to it, but their choreography here really went viral especially the last chorus one. Hope you can listen to the album soon. Bsidesof this album are so great as well. No skip really. Vocally, the girls really give their a-game in this album. Hi KS, so good to see you again. Someone's been on a diet!! Maniac is a beautiful love song, one of the best I've heard in K Pop. You didn't mention it but I feel I need to call out the lighting techs in this vid. They have done a fantastic job, especially on the close-ups when the girls are 'outside' on the car. They've hit the nail on the head. Wonderful.

I love VIVIZ! Untie is one of those songs that never leaves my brain but Maniac is also super addictive! The lyrics are very sad since I believe it has to do with loving someone as horrible as as the relationship is!
