  • Thank you for stopping by and watching the video. I hope you all enjoyed it, or at least most of it. I'm just getting started here and would love some likes, comments, feedbacks and subs!!! if you have any recommendations for the next video, I'm all ears. I appreciate each and everyone of you watching and supporting my small channel. Cheers!
In this video, I show you how like to cut my own steaks, more importantly, how I cut my own ribeye steaks. In doing so, I save a good amount of money and get to have the type of steaks and size of steaks we like for our family's purposes. I would highly recommend a couple of good meat cutting/butchering knives though. Regular chef's knives are okay at best at cutting raw meat, you will just get aggravated with how they perform. I bought the full Ribeye Roll from Costco so I can butcher the steaks i want to. I really do hope you guys find this video helpful, and please don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!
I will try and link everything here that I have used in the video. I'm not paid by anyone as I have bought everything on my own. I'm also not affiliated with any brand or company at this time.

So a few people have been questioning whether this is a chuck eye.
a chuck eye steak or chuck roll, where the chuck eye is extracted from are not the same… a Chuck eye roll will NOT CONTAIN the muscle called Ribeye Cap (spinalis dorsi), which was the first thing that I took out of the rib roll. If this did not have that, then yes the possibility would be higher in the fact that it might be a Chuck eye roll and not a ribeye roll
Also, Chuck eye is a steak, which comes from a chuck roll and only the top part of the roll which would be called the Chuck eye roll. A chuck eye itself is not a big chunk of meat, in fact only 2-4 Chuck eye steaks can be recovered from the Chuck roll.
So to clarify, this is definitely not a “Chuck eye/Chuck eye roll.”
Hope this helps, and thank you for watching 😊

I sub'd very early, you have something going I like. Very informative, but the food police will ask you to use gloves. LOL, home food, no gloves! I just can not figure out why they can not separate that...I ain't serving YOU, it's mine. Keep posting and have patience.

Thank you very much for the sub, and comment! You’re totally correct on the food police part. I usually don’t care what people have to say. I’m quite busy most times because I have a family and don’t do this as a job. Cooking is a hobby for me and I’ll try and keep doing what I can!
I do like to wear gloves when doing something messy and what not. Other than that, this is how I do it when I’m at home, so no need to change 👍🏻
Thanks for watching and enjoying 🍻

Forget what those idiots say; clean hands with no gloves, no problem as long as the food is not being served up raw.

Im not a chef or a butcher...

So no it’s definitely not a chuck eye… I have cut a full chuck roll a few times. It has way more different muscles than rib eye rolls.
It was on the smaller end of a rib roll which is why I decided to buy it. And I absolutely love chuck eyes… even more than rib eyes sometimes 😅.
Glad you were able to watch and learn something! Thank you 😊

I'm looking at the cuts also and thinking the same thing. This is not the ribeye but the chuck-eye- based off the cuts

      Bars...
Somehow I knew this, especially when you explained it to me... And I believed it was rib eye after.
However, the way you just explained it. Spot on. I can even visualize the cuts...
