The doctor is a honey badger if I remember correctly. She was supposed to have a bigger role I think..? I really need to watch or read all the material about the abandoned plot and changes, I've only seen bits.
Yes I believe she operated Nick’s Amusement Park “Wilde Times”. Most of the C-level character were intended to have larger roles. For example the pig bus rider was the original Mayor, the bodyguard Polar Bear was the mob boss, etc.
This is why a lot of the early merchandise is mainly of the extra characters and not focused on Nick and Judy. I remember walking into Target around early 2016 and just seeing shelf after shelf of “Koslov the Polar Bear” and “Safety Squirrel” action figures and thinking “Was these guys even in the movie??”
Yeah, I remember that, too, and being pretty disappointed with the merch offerings. There were stacks of these secondary characters on clearance for months after.
So if I get the novelization, does it include the whole shock collar storyline they abandoned?
I don’t think so ☹️ But I do believe it has a few extra scenes, such as Judy rescuing the cat from tree and a later scene where she comically uses an elephant-sized keyboard. Oh and here’s the best one! The DK “Guide to Zootopia” book has the original Nudist colony scene where Nick strips nude in front of Judy. Yes this is 100% real! (Ever wonder why the original trailer briefly features a nude Nick model?? Now you know!)
Yeah, I remember that scene in the trailer, and they made such a big deal out of it, then I thought I must be misremembering when I saw the movie. Been noticing that a lot lately, trailers for movies, and a lot of shows will have a ton of scenes that don't end up in the episode. It's not worth watching previews anymore, just to be jerked around like that!
