I had what I think was possibly dysentery when I visited India from the UK many years ago. I suddenly got constant vomiting and diarrhoea and became very ill very fast. I was taken to a Dr's surgery in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh where they put me on a drip and gave me medication, I don't know what was in the drip but after two days I was better thankfully. Those Indian doctors and nurse saved my life, the healthcare in India was excellent every time I needed help. Much better than the NHS in the UK.
