Any amount of transparency, even not noticeable by the naked eye, will not protect your information. Only fully solid lines with NO transparency will protect your information. That being said, It's up to you. As for the clubs, it comes down to legality, and responsibility. You need a step to make sure people getting into these clubs are over 18. Whether that step is asking for ID, or just having them check a box and say their date of birth, they both work. Both can be bypassed, but that doesn't matter. In the process of clicking that box, the users basically agree to a ToS and claims they are over 18, it takes it out of your hand. This is now them lying to you, and not you letting minors into your event. I'm not saying you can't ask for ID, you can, but it's not as necessary as you might think, and if poorly managed can be a risk to attendees. This isn't an in person event, it's online, once the picture is sent, it's out there, nothing can be deleted. Discord has your data, the person you sent it to can save it. If you screw up and censor incorrectly, you're done. If you're okay with that risk, balls in your court. But that's my opinion, and I stand by it.
this is where i think vrchat should have a built in ID verification system like roblox, and other games etc. so at least the process is official. This should allow you a viewable badge or something to display on your profile, it would prevent sooo many issues with children lying about ages for access into things or unsavoury interactions with adults with no excuses also for 18 plus events!
Doxxing yourself on discord to get into an event should be frowned upon, you did nothing wrong standing up against it. The more popular you get some people are going to disagree and have bad takes, don’t worry about catering to them, you don’t want that kind of community anyways. - Just my opinion. That said I was coming into comments to specifically thank you for mentioning the ID for events issue. I’m close with a few DJ hangout drinking groups and we have discussed the 18+ issue. Using discord to verifying peoples age is standard internet practice. Asking someone you don’t know for their ID online is never ok. Amazing video hope to see more soon!

All of the events showcased look fun in their own unique ways. When you were in PolyWorld, I got hit with nostalgia. I did a roleplay event with friends for almost a year in that world. I can certainly say there is SO MUCH you can do in vast, open worlds like those. I seriously feel that extremely large and content varying worlds are a part of the future for big events in VRChat. I do agree with what VRChat could do better, having an official hub for everything would increase awareness and adoptability. I also think Furality Umbra could be the start of multi hundred people in 1 instance events. Having the event organizers pay VRChat a certain amount of money for going well beyond 100 people would not only give VRChat some revenue, but would bring community goers closer together than being separated amongst other instances. I never really comment on videos but I will make an exception to just try and convey to you how much I adore your videos, Dera. This documentary style on the social geography of VRChat is such a captivating thing to watch and you describe everything so well… it’s beyond me how you don’t have more subscribers even at this early juncture in your videos. As someone who somehow has even more severe social anxiety in VR than I do in real life, I find these videos rather comforting. I barely started using VR recently and I watch your videos to get a grasp on the social experience in VRChat before I fully join so I don’t overly stress out. You seem like such an incredibly chill person and I can’t quite articulate- beyond what I’ve already said- how much I respect you. It’s all cheesy, I know, I can get like that sometimes… but I had to at least put something out there or I wouldn’t have been able to move on with my life. Keep doing what you’re doing, man. ❤️
thank you for this video, im so glad you were able to check out the positives of this game and experience the good bits that still thrive today!! finding a good friend group is really hard if youre new, but events like these can be a major help. dont limit yourself to the black cat; get out there, world hop, event hop, and look for people that are also searching for someone to hang out with!! something ive really enjoyed doing is hanging out in furry karaoke; there arent any timed events but if you log on around the same time every night youll most likely find the same groups over and over again and be able to make friends that way!! ive met some really great people and have been able to come out of my shell a bit, and have even learned about other events or activities that are worth checking out. singing isnt for everyone, but if youre looking to meet some cool people without needing to be on at a specific time, i would definitely recommend hopping to some group public instances. (also you dont need to be a furry, just be a normal person and start a conversation!!)
I dont mind the ID for dance clubs, and its really no issue. All they ask is for the DOB, and the picture of your face. It keeps alot of children out of these adult spaces and keeps children and adults safe. Obviously if u have an issue providing you dont need to be in those severs, same with irl bars if you arent over 21 u legally cant drink in a bar. idk i see it as a safety thing.
Would absolutely love to see more videos featuring cool VRC groups that I’ve never heard of. Since there’s such a lack of info on where to go, and what groups to join this is super helpful to find cool things to do with friends.
I don't think I'll ever stop using it for preaching. I'm thankful for the freedom to express ourselves no matter the belief. We may not all agree at all times, but I still love the interactions I have with every person I meet
Hey Dera! It's Dera here saying great work on the video! Looking forward to seeing more vid's delving in vr communities or what else you plan on making. Might look into jumping into a Deracore sometime.
If you can do it in iRL you can do it in VRChat. 🥰The VRDJ scene is what got me into VRchat. Bought the Pico 4 when came out and was lurking from the outside via UA-cam , thrillseeker, rolfgator and so on.. But as soon as I got FBT (2 weeks in December 2022) I was hooked. So 5/7 days a week I have been dancing in VRChat, and would never ever thought I would become a dancer, going on stage under dance group Ministry Promotion and helping out hosting events with Cauldron Group. So you can't quit "life" and VRChat adds to life. I can now dance NONstop on iRL raves for hours with skill, thanks to mirrors in VRChat, vrdj's mixing amazing music and the best part, other DANCERS! Coming from small town, and now I know dancers all over the globe. Thanks for the vid, always a pleasure watching em 😍 P.S I connected with the VRDJ scene, by connecting with people in public Club Orion instances.
Loved this, it just felt like a huge love project and thank you to the communities. You can really see how much you care for these safe and fun places were people get too come together. Thank you for the new groups ill defo be checking them out :)
I'm TERRIFIED of people... I got into vrchat because it was a place I was able to quietly sit there around people and not feel guilty about it. I really really want to get better, and the way ive been going clearly isn't working... I see these events and it makes me want to cry, I can't participate, but i really want to. Maybe something like these could help..? Idk. The video is super well made, by the way. It looks professionally made and very enjoyable. I wasn't expecting to enjoy ot this much
I think that events might be too far of a jump based on how you are feeling, try and play a game world (I usually like murder 4) where you have something like a shared goal and fear of the murderer. I started there, it worked for me. It will make it easier to talk to people and to have a conversation if you hang with them for a few or more hours.
It would depend on the event. A group I would recommend is the NFFC, no friends friends club. It’s a LOT of people. However they specifically give ways to encourage socializing as well as classes to help you make friends and get over social anxiety.
Dude every time I watch your videos I have to really force myself to not just go out and buy trackers. Your content makes VRC seem so welcoming and fun. I logged my first hour today and it's utterly terrifying for me, but I'm looking forward to getting more used to it and finding some buds like you have. Thanks for all the fun vids!
i only know rave dj events and lap events, now i been inspired to try more and different type of events that may not include drinking for once, i joined the yoga one but i have no clue where to find other ones that seems fun
i normally cant stand VRchat content but i get so excited when i see a dera upload!!!!!! might have to get back into it eventually always takes me back to the good old days.
Wow, it's so cool to see what else is out there! I've only really known the music scene for the last 2 years. I love taking pictures at these places and sharing them online.
Wonderful videos man! You deserve more attention! Also, I appreciate you listing the music you use especially since you use a lot of synthwave which is my favorite.
Great video, defo gonna try some of the other events I never knew about like camping. I'd love to see you cover role play events, those events can be awesome, I'm in a massive and old scp one if you'd like to see.
Banger video as always man! I love seeing all of the different niche communities; it's awesome to see this sort of broad networking to bring new folks into the fold! I'm constantly amazed by and appreciative of all of the people that I get to meet on a daily basis, and it it's made so much better by people like you bringing awareness to these sorts of groups!
i've been to a couple music events in vrc and i cant shake this feeling in the back of my skull like "this is kinda sad because behind all those headsets is someone sittin in their room by themselves with a brick over their eyes acting like they are at a club/rave". Now i get it that this is all some people have because of where they live, but again the feeling is there. IDK maybe its because im primarly a deskie (even tho i have a headset).
like you said, this is a good alternative if they dont live somewhere with clubs. but also this does get rid of the hustle & bustle of finding/paying for parking, having a dd, planning with a group, & dodging weirdos at a club irl. i don't see it as sad but instead pretty genius. for a deskie tho, it'd be pretty hard to get into the flow imo, i'd at least wanna be on my feet jammin
Try it out in vr if you can sometime, desktop just does not have the same immersion. Maybe think of vr clubbing as more of a silent disco like in irl. There are pros/cons to both but enough pros with vr that I don't think it's sad at all: - Much cheaper beyond the initial vr/pc, those parking fees and cover charges and drinks will add up big - Immediate access to way more clubs unless you live in a major major city - More music diversity, I doubt even major cities could compete - Unique visual experiences that aren't possible or difficult to do irl. This is definitely something u can't fully experience on desktop - Much more space to dance and no awful sticky floors - Better audio fidelity with headphones for the most part, although u probably can't get those body thumping subs at home. Less hearing loss cuz a lot of clubs turn it up way too loud, and if u put earplugs in the audio just turns to garbage - Safer drinking, ppl interaction, etc. for the most part. You can leave and be home safe at any time
Your videos are always so amazing to watch because they have so much production value with how you utilise VR for making your videos. The interviews are informative and easy to understand, the contents of the video are entertaining to see and listen to, and your choices for music for each section are fantastic! 😊 this is a great video, thank you for promoting and showing off these communities which should get and deserve more attention.
It sucks to show ID to basically strangers but honestly what else can you do? You dont wanna potentially have minors engaging in that kind of lewd event, so there really isnt an alternative without opening yourself to arguably illegal activity.
Been watching your videos for a while and gosh, amazing quality! I'll for sure join your community. Just a small note, you could have spoked about the RP-Based game events like the Murder Mystery Communities, Roleplay Groups like the Dalek HQ or the Galactic Republic (it's a small part of VRChat, but also important nevertheless XD). Some of this communities (some of the Murder Mystery ones) have websites and a whole network of affiliations to notify players for new events. Me, as a community owner and Event Host, really enjoyed the video! Keep doing your best! Already looking forward the next video!
Trans Academy mentioned!! They're honestly super cool and host all kinds of events, like voice training classes and dances. They're welcoming to anyone, regardless if they're LGBTQ+ or not!
I'm curious about the yoga events!!! Sadly, I don't have full body tracking or the money to get it anytime soon. I wonder if they would still let someone join who doesn't have fbt. Because I'm out of shape and I'm also trying to work on my lungs (I have asthma) and ik doing stuff like exercise and yoga can help, but where I live there isn't really any place for that
I looooove Ochakai so much!!! Super low key event. I've met a few friends like Enugoni there and I love talking about music with people from around the world there. Also I recently premiered a club and it was an incredible experience that I made for free. Making an event space and then having people like Boneless and Seeno perform there was amazing.
23:15 maybe hes talking about ring fit adventure for the switch, I think maybe he's confusing it with vr but it uses a ringcon and its a pretty decent kit for exercise!
I haven't played VRChat in so long, I've been sticking to beat saber but I miss it. I might have to hop back in. Bought FBTS and as soon as I got them, I used them once and just...didn't get back on again for some reason. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I miss just vibing with random strangers while we doodle in some random world and exploring all while making new friends.
Ok so not wanting to trust a club that does ID verification???? As a club owner myself would love to have a talk about this with you, as that more-so protects ourselves and those in our community that wants to be in an 18+ community, that shouldn't be a reason not to trust us...
honestly you just gotta find the right crowd and it can be a great escape from the daily grind. most vids about vrc highlight the negatives, but if youre in the right places it isnt that bad :)
Fantastic video! Really well edited and the filming is top notch, especially in the little cafe. Mind if I ask how you got such clean, stable footage in VRChat? Did you use some sort of software, or are you just that good?😂

Oh hell WHSPRS! I saw them at Furality Umbra this year, nice!
❤
20 mins old dera video is a win
thank you for this video, im so glad you were able to check out the positives of this game and experience the good bits that still thrive today!! finding a good friend group is really hard if youre new, but events like these can be a major help. dont limit yourself to the black cat; get out there, world hop, event hop, and look for people that are also searching for someone to hang out with!!
something ive really enjoyed doing is hanging out in furry karaoke; there arent any timed events but if you log on around the same time every night youll most likely find the same groups over and over again and be able to make friends that way!! ive met some really great people and have been able to come out of my shell a bit, and have even learned about other events or activities that are worth checking out. singing isnt for everyone, but if youre looking to meet some cool people without needing to be on at a specific time, i would definitely recommend hopping to some group public instances.
Yay, Polyworld mentioned! Glad someone finally stumbled across it, haha.
sooo underrated we love it, appreciate the constant updates
I don't think I'll ever stop using it for preaching. I'm thankful for the freedom to express ourselves no matter the belief. We may not all agree at all times, but I still love the interactions I have with every person I meet
Hey Dera! It's Dera here saying great work on the video! Looking forward to seeing more vid's delving in vr communities or what else you plan on making. Might look into jumping into a Deracore sometime.
Hey yeah, Thanks Dera! You're welcome to check out Deracore anytime lol
Hooray, I caught your newest video. And I passed it on. 😸🎭😎
Thanks for the vid, always a pleasure watching em 😍
P.S I connected with the VRDJ scene, by connecting with people in public Club Orion instances.
Keep up the good work Dera!!
However they specifically give ways to encourage socializing as well as classes to help you make friends and get over social anxiety.
the production on your videos are always stellar, it’s always a joy to watch :)
ohmygosh you ended up putting some of my stage performances!! Im honored!~
Really awesome video. The vibe and talking points, backed with interviews, camera work, music. Really well done :)
I love all your videos, you deserve so much more! Quality was top notch
i only know rave dj events and lap events, now i been inspired to try more and different type of events that may not include drinking for once, i joined the yoga one but i have no clue where to find other ones that seems fun
6:55 omg HES A GERMAAAAAN LES GOOOO
On behalf of Stray .iD and the DJ community, thank you for this video Dera! ❤ you rock man
wtf thats me with the beret djing at 1:28 lmao lol
i go by sir rose
Thanks for linking everything mayne! Awesome vid!
i normally cant stand VRchat content but i get so excited when i see a dera upload!!!!!! might have to get back into it eventually always takes me back to the good old days.
The cinematography is just so eye-catching. Love your videos!
Wow, it's so cool to see what else is out there! I've only really known the music scene for the last 2 years. I love taking pictures at these places and sharing them online.
So much work in your videos... Just amazing! Keep it going! It was extremely interesting
I truly have enjoyed your content and how much effort you put into every camera shot. I'm excited to seem more from you.
Langa has a lot of titles lol, thanks for the video, great quality content!
I had a 2 very small features during the music section which was so cool to see THANK YOU (it was at the PSHQ Boiler Room)
Wonderful videos man! You deserve more attention! Also, I appreciate you listing the music you use especially since you use a lot of synthwave which is my favorite.
WAKE UP NEW DERAFOG MOVIE
Good video, the events and diversity are what keep the community alive.
IDK maybe its because im primarly a deskie (even tho i have a headset).
if you go to a real club/rave you can catch disease so it's better this way
like you said, this is a good alternative if they dont live somewhere with clubs. but also this does get rid of the hustle & bustle of finding/paying for parking, having a dd, planning with a group, & dodging weirdos at a club irl. i don't see it as sad but instead pretty genius. for a deskie tho, it'd be pretty hard to get into the flow imo, i'd at least wanna be on my feet jammin
Try it out in vr if you can sometime, desktop just does not have the same immersion. Maybe think of vr clubbing as more of a silent disco like in irl. There are pros/cons to both but enough pros with vr that I don't think it's sad at all:
- Much cheaper beyond the initial vr/pc, those parking fees and cover charges and drinks will add up big
- Immediate access to way more clubs unless you live in a major major city
- More music diversity, I doubt even major cities could compete
- Unique visual experiences that aren't possible or difficult to do irl. This is definitely something u can't fully experience on desktop
- Much more space to dance and no awful sticky floors
- Better audio fidelity with headphones for the most part, although u probably can't get those body thumping subs at home. Less hearing loss cuz a lot of clubs turn it up way too loud, and if u put earplugs in the audio just turns to garbage
- Safer drinking, ppl interaction, etc. for the most part. You can leave and be home safe at any time
Thank you for a great video. It’s good to see a video showcasing the good in VRChat and you have a talent for video creation. Well done and keep it up
Your videos are always so amazing to watch because they have so much production value with how you utilise VR for making your videos.

FBT Heaven
(It would be a 10/10 place if the one who created it wasn't a drake...)
Nice video I’m actually dancing in a lot of your shots at schism like 1:16 , 2:52 and that’s all me at 3:54
NEW DERAPOST🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
oh wow pretty cool video so fa- IS THAT JOHNNY JOESTAR DOING YOGA??!!? 0:15
Trans Academy mentioned!! They're honestly super cool and host all kinds of events, like voice training classes and dances. They're welcoming to anyone, regardless if they're LGBTQ+ or not!
Im a trans mann! I'm 18, that sounds like funn
OMG! Okay, Camping stuff for summer-! I'm on it!
Omg the person who looks like pun pun is so cool! Noticed them immediately
23:11 it’s probably a world similar to ring fit adventure
I'm curious about the yoga events!!! Sadly, I don't have full body tracking or the money to get it anytime soon. I wonder if they would still let someone join who doesn't have fbt. Because I'm out of shape and I'm also trying to work on my lungs (I have asthma) and ik doing stuff like exercise and yoga can help, but where I live there isn't really any place for that
I still find It crazy that I bought a oculus just for drinking nights with the boys
Omg, thsse events all look so fun. I had no idea there were coffee shops!!!
I looooove Ochakai so much!!! Super low key event. I've met a few friends like Enugoni there and I love talking about music with people from around the world there.
Also I recently premiered a club and it was an incredible experience that I made for free. Making an event space and then having people like Boneless and Seeno perform there was amazing.
whsprs interview!! wow!!
❤
I have never gone to VRC events and this video shows how much I wouldn't wanna
Excellent video as always
6:15 lol I joined up into a random concert thing for the first time and this guy was playing
The club stuff breaks my heart all the people who lost themselves to it
Welp, it got me hooked lmao
23:15 maybe hes talking about ring fit adventure for the switch, I think maybe he's confusing it with vr but it uses a ringcon and its a pretty decent kit for exercise!
whisprs was interesting to see at furality umbra
❤
yooo, shameless #1 , myclub, im happy to see our footage
Also the half all these videos of the coffee, the show and tale ,the campers events are so kool. Only I'm Don't think I'll fit for the vibe
Epic
I mean Vrchat doesnt keep you playing vrchat.... its the people.
Oh! thanks for mentioning the Trans Academy! very well done and infomrative documentary. All the amazing events definitely keep me hooked.
LoL I just saw my name in the Video. Im DJ Red Panda and my name was on the Time Line clip. This is so funny and awesome.
no shot langa talked about the tent toggle (I was there) lol
Ok so not wanting to trust a club that does ID verification???? As a club owner myself would love to have a talk about this with you, as that more-so protects ourselves and those in our community that wants to be in an 18+ community, that shouldn't be a reason not to trust us...
Makes me wanna play vr chat but at the same time I know it can be hell
honestly you just gotta find the right crowd and it can be a great escape from the daily grind. most vids about vrc highlight the negatives, but if youre in the right places it isnt that bad :)
Don't go in with high expectations or plans, you'll find your group, you'll find your niche, you'll have a great time
Lapdance clubs mentioned ❤
Fantastic video! Really well edited and the filming is top notch, especially in the little cafe. Mind if I ask how you got such clean, stable footage in VRChat? Did you use some sort of software, or are you just that good?😂
Just normal camera in VR, there's a smoothing option that lets you get pretty stable shots.
Also I use fly mode alot, just flying forward and back
@@Derafog much appreciated, dude! Loving the content!
the camp is cool asf
