I winched my front end up into a tree branch hanging over and behind my four seater. That’s how I installed my new skid plate.
You said your heading down west. You going on your trip like you did last year?? On the sked plate would have been just as easy to to drill the holes out all the same an use rivet nuts. I have had good luck with them holding up an not braking.
Yes. Similar trip as last year. We were in a hurry to put the skid plate on because I needed to drive the rzr the next day and we didn’t have any rivnuts

You heard it here first. Those axles will not break!! Lol. Drive shaft, pinion or diff 100%
LMAO!!!! I went through this same scenario in 2020 on a gravel driveway by myself. 😂 Ended up leaving about six hours late for a riding trip.
Hint: holesaw for grease fittings. I avoid dropping my skid at all cost.
I found out that sand craft makes a extension that you hook to it and you can grease it that way which is kinda cool.
@@TheCanAmCrew works for the carriers but not the u-joints. I also run oem carriers, though.
I also recommend a tapered bit to pre drill your holes for your skid plate self tapping screws. The bit they provide just breaks instantly.

If the carrier bearing mounts get hung up, ask Justin from orb for the special bearing mount he makes for the sandcraft bearing. It eliminates that issue.
That’s weird because I called and asked them if the orb cross members would work with the sand craft drive line and they told me they didn’t know. Then I called sandcraft and asked them the same question and they didn’t know lol. So I took a chance and glad I did. I feel like they are both top notch.

Instructions actually say to roll the rzr over when you do the skid plate lol, but luckily I have a lift to be able to the skid plates. Drilling all the holes sucked on my shoulders tho
There are definitely a lot easier ways to do it than what we did 🤣
Biggest headache saver for me was pre-drilling. Only other thing I had to do was drill relief holes for the Sandcraft bolt heads.
I should have drilled holes for the bolt heads.
I've got the 1/2" thick trail armor and have beat the absolute crap outta it and it's still fine.

What do you recommend for u joints? Ours are going out on our x3, couldn’t find an oem part for them
I’ve never had a ujoint go bad to be honest. I believe can am uses spicer. But it’s probably just cheaper to buy a whole new drive shaft. 250.00 will get you a whole new one.
