We are already counting down to the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. We do that by looking back to recent editions of Europe's favorite TV show. This time we go to 2008, when the contest was held in Belgrade, Serbia

it's my 2nd favorite Eurovision song of all time. Even my mom loves it! When I went to Athens last year, I looked for Kalomira CDs but I couldn't find any because they were all out of print ): I bought her album online!

I love Russian music too! I have CDs by Polina Gagarina and Alsou :) and I usually love Armenia's entries too, my favorite was Jan Jan which was my #1 Eurovision song of 2009

We miss songs like this in Eurovision. We need more Kalomoira, Hadise, Ani Lorak, Helena Paparizou, Sertab Erener like singers

I think its a shame that Russia won in 2008, because in Semi's we were first, Armenia second and Russia only third... i believe this tells a lot about block voting :P

Χωρίς να το κάνω πολύ βαρύ το θέμα...Για μένα αυτη η συμμετοχή ήταν η καλύτερη συμμετοχή της Ελλάδας! (Εξαιρείται η Άννα Βίσση που ήταν στην Ελλάδα), αλλά για μένα αυτό με την Καλομοίρα ήταν καλύτερο και απο αυτό της αγαπημένης Έλενας Παπαρίζου! Αυτό το οπτικό θέαμα σε κρατάει περισσότερο γιατί έχει κέφι, ζωντάνια και ξεσηκώνει!
Ούτε καν. Δε λέω καλό είναι αλλά δε συγκρίνεται με την Παπαρίζου το 2005, ούτε τα ρούχα, ούτε η χορογραφία και ούτε το τραγούδι. Τα ρούχα ναι μεν ήταν της μόδας εκείνη την εποχή αλλά θα ξερνούσα αν τα έβλεπα σήμερα ενώ της Παπαρίζου αντέχεται. Επίσης είχε πολλά πράγματα από την ελληνική κουλτούρα (όπως πχ τη λύρα) και παρουσίαζε με έναν πολύ ωραίο και μοντέρνο τρόπο την ελληνική παράδοση χωρίς να το παρακάνει και στα όρια της eurovision. Όταν όμως κοιτάμε το secret combination δεν είχε τίποτα απ'όλα αυτά, βασικά η μουσική στην αρχή νόμιζα ότι ήταν από μέση Ανατολή. Τεσπα σύμφωνα με τα σημερινά δεδομένα (και τη γνώμη μου βασικά λολ) φαντάζει τριτοδεύτερη και κριντζ σε σχέση με της Παπαρίζου. Δε θέλω να κάνω χειτ αλλά δεν μπορώ να ακούω ότι η Καλομοίρα είχε την καλύτερη συμμετοχή. Ας μην ξεχνάμε τα παλιά τραγούδια (πχ άνοιξη) ή τον Ρουβά ή ακόμα και άλλες συμμετοχές που δεν έχουν αρκετό κρεντιτ.

Συμφωνώ πάντως ότι έπρεπε να κερδίσει και αυτή όπως και οι Antique το 2001 αλλά όχι και να το ρίχνουμε στη συνωμοσιολογία.

Μην ξεχνάτε οτι η Καλομοίρα βγήκε πρώτη στον ημιτελικό που ήταν και ο Dima bilan και αν η Ερτ τότε στην ερώτηση αν μπορεί να αναλάβει το διαγωνισμό ξανά απαντουσε θετικά και οχι με ενα ΟΧΙ ο Διαγωνισμός θα ήταν στην Ελλάδα το 2009..και μάλλον η ερτ πλέον δεν θέλει το διαγωνισμό γι'αυτό και δεν στέλνει καλλιτέχνες που το έχουν και ειναι αγαπητοί στο φακό της κάμερας...

Remember this after nearly 15 years and it's a real bop - very catchy! I love that it's infused with Greek elements too and the lyric "to win a destination at the centre of my heart". It reminds me of many ABBA lyrics that make perfect grammatical sense even if you'd never hear them from a native English speaker - I think it's charming :)
