- JoJo is opening up about her journey to self-love! The 29-year-old musician sat down with Access Hollywood's Sibley Scoles to discuss her past trials and tribulations in the music industry and the upcoming release of her new album "Good to Know" on May 1. JoJo revealed that her latest single "Man" holds an empowering message for women and young girls. "It's about being comfortable with yourself," she explained. "Just feeling confident, a little cocky even." She then went on to discuss her love life, admitting, "If I'm going to have a partnership with somebody one day, they're going to have to be really freaking awesome because I know what I'm bringing to the table as a woman."

Exactly. While others are drooling over Taylor Swift and not focusing on other great talent JoJo was Almost forgot about but, I didn’t forget. There are so many talented women out there that need the exposure besides Taylor. I listened to JoJo’s new album Good To Know and it’s amazing. Raw real and honest. I didn’t fall asleep. That’s what music is all about.

One of the worst parts of being a female singer now as compared to years ago is we have so much pressure to look a certain way act a certain way and sound a certain way. And it’s also more sad that it feels like the women are being controlled by the media or the record label they get signed too. Sometimes being true to urself isn’t enough and they want them to be somebody else. They gotta fight back stand up for themselves in the music industry and don’t let people walk over them.
