    I just installed mine and when I tell you my cheeks hurt from smiling so much, BEST PAIN OF MY LIFE!!! I got the xs instead of the x9 though and I am glad I did. A lot more modes and options. Very easy installation, don't let the wires intimidate you like they did me lol. SUPER EASY INSTALL. I have a 2015 Scion tC. Love it!!!

    I bought something similar to this product called "Pedal Commander". They definitely work, I noticed the changes in acceleration but it does take a toll on my MPG when set on sporty modes.

    Saw this video too late. I manage to source a Weapon R Throttle Controller (used) for my TC, and am pretty please on the response, but would have rather spent the money on something newer. (It only cost $70 from eBay.)
    I'll wait to see your follow up video, and see where I go from there.
    It looks like it installs the same, but notice the HiKEit doesn't plug into the ODBII, or does it? (The Weapon R does plug into the ODB II.)
    Also, you are testing this with your OV tune as well,so I'm curious to see the difference with a TC without the OV tune.
    Does it suggest selecting the modes prior to driving, or you can change the modes during the drives, and what are your thoughts about the possibility of the car going into "limp mode".
    Thanks for the video.
    By the way, what would you charge to 3D print the mount, and ship it to me, besides coffee, to a fellow TC owner, since I don't have access to a 3D printer.

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, the HIKEit plugs directly into the accelerator pedal which was a big selling point for me, aside from the price.
      Yes, I'm using it with the OVTune 93 octane, 7200 RPM map. If you watch the additional reviews at the end, you can get a feel of how it works for stock ECU owners.
      You can change the modes while driving, but I suggest you only do so when the car is stopped until you get a feel for how each mode affects the throttle. Be sure to set ECO mode to level 1. I've actually been using auto a lot lately.
      No thoughts on limp mode. I haven't read anyone having that issue, but it's a plug and play device, so if you have an issue, just unplug it and reset the ECU.
      As for mounts, I can do $17 shipped via USPS Priority Mail (with tracking number) within the US. This includes me wet sanding the one side smooth so that I can apply 3M mounting tape and providing photos after the print is done and when I mail it. Find me on FaceBook and send me a message there if you want one.

    Derrick,
    The hits just keep on coming!
    Are you satisfied with your audio?
    Get the external mic.
    Also, I watched your video where you installed lighting to the 3rd reflector on your friend's TC. You mentioned that his car had your old Bola sound. What exhaust do you have now? From what I can tell on videos; I like Taneda or HKS bass notes. Your thoughts?

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  4 роки тому

      I actually tried two mics, and they made me sounds clearer, but they also picked up weird sounds. One had humming noises sometimes, the other crackles and pops, like it was clipping. Unless I can get a good suggestion for a mic I can preferably mount in the car and connect to my phone, I'm sticking with the built in phone mic.
      Mike's black tC is sporting my old Borla axelback. I replaced it with the Greddy RS Revolution full catback, which is pretty loud. I haven't heard either of the two exhausts you listed, so I don't know. I did like the Borla a lot though.

    Hey Derrick, would you mind doing a follow up video to this a month or two down the road? I'm on the edge about Hikeit USA bc I can't find much info on them. The website About Us page shows them around since 2012 but all reviews (although positive) seem to be from last quarter 2019. I saw some info about people having issues with warranty cases (given out of country address for returns/no response from company) on companies that seem to be affiliated with Hikeit (possibly Hikeit before they changed their name?) and it raised an eyebrow for me. I've emailed them through the Contact Us page to get some questions answered but they haven't responded yet. I'm hoping I can jump on the bandwagon and be an advocate for the X9 controller, too! Thanks for videos as always. Good content for the tC2/2.5 is a bit lacking on YT.

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  4 роки тому +1

      I usually do update videos and post them immediately if something happens with a product I review. Yes, their e-mail response right now is bad. I think they are swamped. I had e-mailed them a few times and eventually, someone just ended up calling me from HIKEit because they said they are behind on emails and it was easier to do a phone call. Yes, I was also very nervous when I ordered mine at first, but I cruised some of the car and truck forums to see what people thought about the HIKEit before I got mine. If something changes though, I'll post up.

    My scion XB has a touchy throttle and really doesn't rev the first inch into the gas pedal that jumps to 2200 rpm, which sucls with a manual, will this help? My only trouble is starting in first gear

    • @VampyreX13

      It might help actually. You'll have to go through the various settings and levels to find what's going to work best for you though. Look at the picture of the throttle curves earlier in the video and see what looks like it would fit your needs best, then go through the different level settings until you find one that feels right.
