@@ArboristAlone I first visited St Petersburg when it was still Leningrad! Then I've been to southern Siberia, near where you are, and to arctic Russia north of Murmansk. I'm an archaeologist and I was in touch with a guy at the museum of Karelia. We were arranging a trip but then Covid happened. Now there's the political situation of course. Everywhere I've just found normal, friendly people and I hope to come back when things improve.
