    I bought a bell pepper at the store and planted about two dozen seeds from it indoors in March. They all germinated and I ended up planting three in my garden and giving the other plants away. Those three plants have given me over a dozen peppers and they keep churning out more. A nice, easy plant to grow!

    I love me some stuffed peppers. For consideration, and if you haven't yet, try Giant Marconi's or Escamillo. They have a thinner wall than a standard bell - but just can't beat the flavor.

    I'm harvesting a lot of Hungarian Yellow Wax, Lipstick, and Jimmy Nardello Peppers. I have Etiuda, and Corona di Toro peppers developing. I am also getting a decent amount of California Wonder, Banana, Leysa, and Cubanelle peppers. My late starts, Big Red, and Yellow Monster are flowering, so I expect peppers from them soon. I have dwarf zinnias growing on the outer edge of my raised bed. They are only supposed to get 18 inches tall, but grew to over three feet tall. I had to cut them way back to give the peppers more sunlight. September and October are the most productive months for peppers in my garden. Of course, mid to late October is when I have problems with deer. They don't bother my turnips, or Asian Greens, but they love peppers.

    Thanks for the video. Some of the peppers I grew from seed turned out to be different from the seed packet. A purple bell pepper is actually a hot pepper, and a jalapeño is some kind of longer very hot variety. Not a disaster, but definitely a surprise. A couple of Facebook groups I follow have mentioned the same problem.

    My peppers were almost all volunteers from my compost. They started out really nice but soon got little brown spots on the leaves. I looked it up and found that it's called bacterial leaf spot. Is that in the soil or where does it come from? They made a few peppers but not like your plants. Your pepper plants are beautiful.

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
      @THERUSTEDGARDEN  Рік тому

      Bacteria in theory can be in or on a plant. Usually leaf spots are fungal and float in the air. I would try hydrogen peroxide spray first. Find my tomatoes and h202 and start with the lower mix. If it's on the leaf, this works.
