Hi Rex I've been following your videos, and enjoy them, the reason why i enjoy them is cause im a retired tanker driver of 25 years,so it's like I'm on your truck with you,(Keep on keeping on)my name by the way is Ron.
Just passed my CDL permit 🎉 orientation is February 13th 2023 . Very excited! Going with tanker as well!! Love the videos! Hope to see you at the prime yard 😅
@@smokeboi123 yes , I just passed my cdl test here in Springfield. I had to retake my dot physical and did another urine test for it before I hit the road with my tnt trainer. Stay clean and you’ll be fine.
Great information man. Really digging watching your day to day of getting it done. Was wondering if you were gonna stop in Pittston yard while up that way.
I want to drive tankers! I’m in Pa right now with all my endorsements. I have 5 months of driving experience. I prefer to Drive automatics but I don’t have any restrictions on my license.
Could you give us more information on the tanker side for a company driver what to look for in training an how to get comfortable with being a tanker driver
I will try to make a video regarding primes psd and tnt training (what to expect during orientation etc).. The biggest thing with driving tanker is you just gotta smooth on your turns, braking and accelerating because the surge!
That's awesome you go to any other places in Humboldt? Any chance on doing a surge video, Rex? So are you going to try and hopefully win one of those Ram pick-ups with Prime's incentive they have running for the holiday or no?
Starting my CDL training soon. Hoping to start with prime. Do you know if I have to get some OTR experience before I can start local? Wanting to get tanker endorsements. Nice Hey Dudes by the way
I applied for prime with your code but I have an IRS conviction back in 2011 and now I have to wait 10 years after my probation ended to get hired. So guess I'll try again in 2026
Quick question. Given that it's tanker division and considering the shipper/receivers and how the loads play out...could you run nights if you wanted to?
It ain’t all cupcake’s and rainbows but i really like the tanker side. Got my CDL through prime and went straight to tanker division. You just need your tanker endorsement no HAZMAT needed. Hope this helps ya 🤙💯 all shippers and receivers are in small towns or outskirts of cities. Only 1 tank wash is in the middle of Louisville KY kinda tight.
@@truckingwithrex how many miles are required for tanker right now. I'm in Springfield right now in my psd stage thinking about switching from flat bed
If you lease with prime your truck is governed at 65mph, company drivers trucks are governed at 57mph on the pedal / 62mph on cruise control. All prime drivers get an id badge which is also our fuel cards. We swipe the card prime deducts the fuel out of our settlements weekly. Our discount is about $1.50 off per gallon. I use my loyalty truck stop rewards cards for points and showers. I’ve made over $750 this year off my points for fueling 🤙💯
Wow 65! I thought about coming over there! But my truck is not governed! Nah I can’t do that one! Great u made some nice money on those loyalty cards! I did as well! Thank you sir for the advice!
It’s a little different where I work! I do intermodal work so I have to hustle! But I’ve driven road tankers before, and yeah it’s just run, miles, load, and unloading! I was just thinking of going back to road tankers! U stay safe as well!
Tank washes are usually 1-3hrs wait for a washout, shippers and receivers I’m in and out within 2-3hrs usually. I do some drop and hooks no waiting with those 😎🤙💯
I run inedible products, everything I run is used to make dog food / dog treats… we have a food grade side also. Prime doesn’t run chemicals or HAZMAT liquids. Hope this helps ya! 🤙💯
I did ask for em because they are super simple to replace and I was told to buy them myself and show before and after photos of me replacing them… then prime would reimburse me so yeah… lol

@@jonnyjon1126 you said it correctly they are nickel and dimen drivers. Prime is solid but it’s not the drivers responsibility to do minor repairs to their trailers and or equipment imho.. Hey my friend thank you for sharing the information. Im thinking about getting into trucking. I noticed you said you where married and have children. I am married as well and have kids what im wondering is was the adjustment for you and your wife difficult? Also i live out of Indiana does prime have a terminal here?
Before I made the jump to trucking my wife and I had extensive talks about how I’ll be away from home long periods at a time. Sacrifice now to get ahead in life and later be able to chill. Prime has a terminal in Decatur Indiana.. Hope this helps ya! 🤙😂
@@PuJolsLol yes my buddy on the food grade side is leasing a (lightweight truck) and is home every night + off weekends. He is on a dedicated account and picks up a preloaded trailer in Decatur Indiana and delivers to terra haute every night.
70% of the time I’m parking at tank washes, shipper or receivers so for me being tanker I don’t have problems getting parking. A handful of times I was running and had trouble get a parking spot at midnight, 1am etc… ending up going past my 11hr clock to find parking.. hope this helps 🤙💯

It would make it a little easier if Prime would run air to your product line to blow the hose out. And a sample valve.
Agree with that for sure 🤙😀
Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t think you was ever gonna post another video!!!!
