Bolt Thrower is the most consistent metal band I’ve found. Not every song is astounding, but every song is at least good. Probably my favorite metal band behind Amon Amarth

As a metal producer (in the early pro tools era) I used to be bothered by the lumpy drumming but as the years have gone on I have come to appreciate how much heavier this album is, due to the musical and HEAVY drumming.
This album was one of my first cds, and I must have been obsessed with it, cos while I haven't listened in many years, it's all come back to me. Or maybe their riffs are so heavy, they carved indelible trenches in my ears and brain. Marvellous. Even learning some of the tunes.

@@KinoTechUSA69 I'll admit I didn't know that. I'd assume it's because the Church deemed Orthodox Christians to be "pagans" or some bullshit like that.
There was a bit of a Latin/Greek schism building at the time with smaller atrocities on both sides, the 4th crusade was defeated in the field by Muslim forces, when they retreated they went through Constantinople, they looted it and massacred inhabitants and clergy as they went. Many religious icons and works remain in Italy, but many have been returned to various orthodox churches in the last century however, which is encouraging.
