Amazing series. very helpful. Can the fixed position Items feature be applied in a pdf document I could send to a client? as a presentation? that format is very powerful for straight delivery system. thank you!
Correct. Animation will not work in an interactive PDF. More info in these videos: ua-cam.com/video/_Jfd6M-Qxuo/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/XW-dvtI6g2U/v-deo.html
Can you make a searchable list? I have a list of 185 elements in a scrolling frame, but can I create any feature to narrow the list down? Any filters, or a search box?
That would be possible with some custom HTML and JavaScript. There's likely a framework that would do this. I haven't looked into it recently, but many years ago there were multiple frameworks for easy UI components (such as Yahoo's, Spry, & jQuery UI) so you wouldn't even have to code it.

One question - When you talk about creating slideshows using the in5 feature, how would you be able to use this slideshow/presentation? Would it only be able to be viewed online as opposed to using it in a business meeting setting?
You can do both. :-) There are examples of online presentations and offline. I use these features for webinars, e.g.: ua-cam.com/video/r8bIYQHTR5A/v-deo.html There's also a distinction between slideshows that live *within* documents and auto-playing presentations (where the entire document runs like a slideshow).
You're right. The issue, unfortunately, is that the PDF format doesn't support a lot of interactivity. For more information about what PDFs do and do not support and what you can do instead, see the following article: ajarproductions.com/blog/2018/03/26/interactive-pdf-is-dead-heres-what-you-can-create-from-indesign-thats-even-better/ ^MF
Thank you for this content!!!

Hi, Fixed Element Position is only available with in5. You can use in5 to make presentations: ua-cam.com/video/-bxJfudSVaI/v-deo.html
@@Ajarproductions thank you! I will check the video
@@SnakebiteCortez You're very welcome. 🙂
So is the animation feature not available if you save the InDesign file out to an interactive PDF?

For anyone finding this looking for PDF help - 90% of this video is not relevant unfortunately. Cool stuff for other platforms, just not PDF.

@Ajarproductions I agree, PDFs are limited however they are still industry standard in a lot of places so that's what I have to work with
I'm using indesign 2022, when I add sound effects why can't it work? (sound effects)
Are you attempting to autoplay the sound on page load (esp. the first page)? Safari & Chrome require user interaction before you can autoplay sound.
