Lahore railway station is very beautiful.I m from Amritsar , just 52 km from Lahore .I wish kabhi Lahore aana ho aur Lahore ko dekh sakoon.before 1947 we had a nice haveli here .I want to see my ancestors home.well I think pakistani railway's ko bahut kuch badalna hai.i had seen in many you tube videos . pakistan railway ko electrification karna chahiye.indian railway poori tarah electrified ho chuki hai.ab kuch saal mai bullet train aane waali hai from Mumbai to Ahmedabad.very soon ek coridor taiyaar karne ki taiyari ho rahi hai bulett train ke liye ,from Delhi to Amritsar ...

ap ki railway achi hai tu humarey *Motorways* connecting from karakarom through Peshawar to Islamabad to Lahore to Multan onto Karachi , its better than your expressways with wifis, rest stays every 10 km spanning entire Pakistan ... by 2028 ML1 Railway will get completed cutting time between Karachi Lahore to just 7 hrs ....

1857 is called "Jang-e-Azadi" by subcontinent people, British named it "Mutiny"...also Railway Headquarters is not at Lhr Railway Station but at least 3 to 4 km away from here.

Loss of life was in trains coming to Lahore and not leaving Lahore. Moreover, trains coming from India after Independence stopped at Walton Railway Station , which is before this main station. Thus trains full of dead and injured reffugees stopped at Walton where Reffugee Canp was set up.

HOWRAH Calcutta Peshawer Punjab Mail via Lahore and Lucknow still gives a feeling that it is going to Western End of India...But now not..So is ou grand ..r Frontier Mail ..Bombay to Peshawer

Wonderful documentry on Indian and Pakistans famous Railway statios n Tracks He speaks Urdu while talking to people..Lahore statios looks like Delhis Old Railway station ..Fort castle like.. Trains come in a Porch covered long Verandahs typical of Old Northern Railway style stations..Moghulsarai Lucknow Delhi Ambala AMRITSAR to Lahore ..then Frontier Railway to RAWALPINDI Peshawer..Thanks for showing us the grand station..

Though, your approach is a bit lethargic but I think it suits you the way you project and study your subject.
Keep it up, may Allah helps you bring out something good for both, Railway and general public. Do explore and emphasis on merits and demerits of Railway operations. Do highlights the positive and abstract functions and suggest solutions for the existing drawbacks.
Appreciate your courage and confidence to undertake such challenging hobby.
I love trains and has special romance for Railway journeys.
I am lucky to have had 43 Railways of the world including Vladivostok to Moscow by Trans Siberian Railway which takes 9 days.

Lahore railway station building has amazing architecture
Prior to 1947 the Grand Trunk Express connected Mangalore to Peshawar via Madras (Now Chennai),Delhi and Lahore..Nowadays the Grand Trunk Express connects New Delhi with Chennai and is pulled by Electric Traction all through
I think the cross sectional service was offered from Lahore to Peshawar and this was called Frontier Mail. I happen to hang out with the retired pilot who drove this section. He was an Anglo-Indian from Madras. He use to live in Little Mount.

Dear UZma , your absolutely right , I have never seen such a beautiful railway station in my entire life. I am from India , same here also , only Aligarh and Howrah till far I have visited , and both are gifts by the Britishers. Anyways , I was seeing LHR Rail. Station , and I have fallen in love with this. Wanna visit once in a life. But we are not allowed.

Sorry dear, it is impossible that with 8,000 passengers departing and 2,000 arriving , it is 50th busiest railway stations of the world. Compared to JUST Indian railway stations itself it will not figure even in first 250 busy railway stations.
Bhowani Junction was made in Lahore. With Ava Gardner and Stewart Granger. They stayed at a famous hotel in Lahore. Urooj Ali kudos to you. Please keep up the good work. Informative, entertaining with an eye appeal. You do a great job. Do one on Lahore Gymkhana. the Indians generals wanted to drink a chota peg there in 1965. never got there.

Architecture of Lahore railway station is impressive but maintenance is not up to the mark. Indian Railway stations are much better and well modernised .

Interestingly ..Many parents in West Punjab..now Pakistan used to send their children to study in Famous Convent and English schools to Shimla Dehradun Lucknow etc.... specially girls after earning their Matric certificate from Punjab were sent to Famous All Women's colleges in Dehradun Shimla and ISABELLA THOBURN COLLEGE ..I TO COLLEGE of Lucknow. It had higher education and Graduation facilities for Women..I have met many Old well educated ladies who fondly remember their days in IT.travelling from RAWALPINDI Lahore to Lucknow..
It was safer here for them and a high standard of Womens education upto Graduation level in a All Women's institution..There is a book also by late Mrs Prakashvat wife of Comerade Yashpal i..Lahore to Lucknow....displays old social life of Undivided Punjab n mohallas gates bazars of Lahore..of 1930s
