An AMERICAN Application of a New JAPANESE Finesse Rig (I made it BETTER)

- There's a lot of finesse rigs that come over from Japan that I don't feel have the applicability to outperform other rigging systems currently used in the United States...this is NOT one of those.

This is why I watch your channel. Not only do you catch the big mothers, you share and teach new techniques we can all try,and apply in our fisheries. Keep up the good vids.
The lake he is at is unique, it's a diamond in a gold nugget. The 3-4# fish he's catching is what I consider a "dink" in that lake.
Check out core tackle hover rig. Much better rigging and action, milliken is teaching others’ new techniques
Man I’ve been watching your channel way before you even got some tips from flairs punk azz. I just got my first bass boat and I’ve learn soooo much from you and I can’t wait to put it to work on the lake. Go get ‘em big dog.
It’s awesome that you share real knowledge and techniques that you actually use and not some theory that someone read and are repeating to sound smart. Keep on slaying them my dude! You betttt!
I appreciate that!
I've watched so many of those "social media videos" you're talking about, discovered your youtube this week, I freaking love it. And love your bass fishing dream story as well! Thanks a lot.
THANK YOU!!! I love pretty baits and all that but the stuff I enjoy the most is “here’s this cool thing, here’s this cool thing catching fish” 🤘🤘
RANDY BLAUKAT LOVES ARTS AND CRAFTS TIME
So. I ordered everything from the list above. The hooks haven't come yet, but I tried the rod and reel today with a light 3 inch swimbait today. Was amazed at how far it casted. I have been impressed the with 6th sense stuff I've picked up the past couple weeks . Definitely thinking of swapping out a couple of my rods now.
Long time sub (avid bank fisherman)…. I LOVE HOW MUCH YOUR CHANNEL HAS PROGRESSED… Keep doing what you do brother.
You’re growing on me dude . Like the content especially lately .
I appreciate that Gerry. I'm doing my best.
@@MillikenFishing you really are ty
Love your willingness to share awesome techniques.. and the level of detail
I just love the way you explain how to rig and fish the baits you use your so awesome thanks I like learning more ways to fish
Great information Ben. This is what sets you apart from most anglers
Ben, thanks so much your teaching and and showing the different ways to apply baits is awesome Thanks again Be Blessed
Even though i know you are selling your companies products I am sold. You are an incredible down to earth salesman. Much respect which you absolutely deserve with all the work you have put in. Love you bro living my ultimate dream and i know it's not easy, ever. If you get back to Wyoming I'll hook you up with 5-10 pound cutthroat trout all day!! MFer for life!
Thanks Ben I love it! I tend to get discouraged when a senko, square bill or shakey head aren’t getting bit. You’ve taught me a lot since UA-cam introduced me to your videos!
I think it’s also called hover strolling? It’s basically a more natural damiki rig. I heard the juggle is also good for a nose hook and a nail weight in the belly. Put an owner cps spring in the nose and it catches 5 times more fish for the plastic. The juggle is one of the greatest plastics in the last few years
Little tip instead of buying nail weights save your broken ned rig heads like if the hook breaks off save it and use it like a nail weight works Awsome for this application
Really didn’t think I could enjoy your content anymore and you bust out a bobbin and start tying. Awesome stuff
I absolutely love that 7’4” ML MFer rod. That rod can cast a mile and has plenty of strength. Best spinning rod I own.
Your amazing, sticking with it when fishing is tough and using new tech to catch them.
This presentation can definitely help me with catching more finicky fish in tournaments. This will definitely help me maximize bites. It seems like it would definitely kill fishing it on beds because to me it would make sense because you can work it in place for an extended period of time. I just can't wait to see how big spotted bass react to it if those largemouth are coming unglued on it.
Thank you for providing the information as well as entertaining tournament videos. They have definitely helped me become a much better angler and improve my critical thinking in tournaments. I have started finishing much higher in tournaments applying the knowledge and skill that you display and break down in your content.
Check out core tackle hover rig
You are the biggest And best MOFOing fishing channel on UA-cam. Thanks for being your self not a fake ass. Awesome work boss 👏
Thanks man for the great explanation and showing your technique. Looking forward to trying this
This actually a really cool way to use these lures because I have some of my own just didn’t know what to really do with them but now you’ve given me the perfect technique for it!!!!
Amazing video. New to the channel and fishing as well. Great content! Loving the breakdowns and all the detail. I also appreciate the portions where you actually fish the rig. All of this info combined is great for new anglers such as myself! Tight Lines!
Hello, jus curios were your from.or were u fish from
Great info as always! Will have to try this next time I fish.
I definitely gonna have to try this I enjoy all your videos
I don't believe the smallest details of this rig matter, but I agree with the premise because last fall when not much was biting at the river I went to a very similar bait and jiggled it and splashed it in place near the top and got hit when nothing else seemed to be working. So I like the idea.
All rigged up and ready to try tomorrow. Thanks for the video content. Always putting out bangers broski 🔥🔥🔥.
Shimano raised the bar in fishing reels. Bought a couple of Spirex 2000 and 5 Calcutta reels and they were still casting pretty dang good after 20 years of regular use.
Man your camera work (slo mo shots) are documentary-worthy. Serious you're on some national geographic video quality!
Simply the best when it comes to helping yr followers catch more and bigger bass!! 👍💯🤜🐟🐟🦈🦈
Awesome video, informative and entertaining! Thanks for sharing!
Liking your videos how you go into detail about rig and how to fish. Going to try this
This is the hot new method. You can do this and make your own, but the nail weight will fall out and tear soft plastic. Or as you saw at 15:13, the weight pulls the plastic away from the hook and you are left only with the hook.
You can buy premade hover rigs at coretackle. The rig they sell is integrated so the weight is on the hook. The whole thing is inserted where you want in the back, and then is completely covered by the plastic. Because it's one piece, you won't have the wight pulling the plastic away from the hook.
The juggler hook works Awsome for this also
I bought all the content from this video love the way you share, thank you so much.
Got me on the 7'4" ML Milliken Spinning Rod. On the way from 6th Sense! Tks for the 10% off and the Hover Shot / Aaron Martin keeper.
Great video Ben 💥💥🇺🇸🇺🇸 Awesome tips and information man Thanks 👍💯 can't wait to try this lil trick out 💯👍
Another dope video!👌 always loving your content man.
Bro, set this set up on my spun rod other day, freakin awesome. Caught 2 bass in first 15mins
I remember the video back in the day where Ben first showed us his homemade keeper on his Flippin hooks (I think it was flippin hooks)
YOU KNOW!! Miss you Matt hope all is well 🙌🏻
@@MillikenFishing been awhile, glad to be back on this side of youtube 🤘
It's chilly here in North East Ohio . Fish still biting . Almost Half Million subscribers.
Great Ben. This is Crabbie time here in Ohio . They like the cooler temps. Keep up the good work Ben. How's the boys doing ?
Can't get you on Telegram Ben .
Thank you so much, for your input 😊
Heat shrink tubing works great for all size and types of hooks
Dang good video Ben. I would recommend that 6th Sense make some Juggle Minnow hooks with bait keepers. They will sell.
Check out core tackle hover rig
@@FindingAdventure already using them. They work great
Core tackle just came out with a hover head with the nail weight on the head should be hitting TW in a few weeks
Hey Milliken Fishing, thanks man. I've rigged this a little different, you may find it useful. I just use a bait hook and thread it out the bottom of the plastic and super glue it. Then just Carolina rig it with a small weight. It may be a similar presentation. Right on.... thanks for the videos.
Hey Milliken, I'm a huge fan so I would never question your knowledge or integrity. I'm just a curious person, so I was wondering how long do you research your baits before you break them down like this? You're so educated about it which makes it seem like you've been fishing these techniques for years! I just think it's pretty incredible that you just find out about these baits and you're so confident about them when you break it down. Just a curiosity thing brother
Honestly I feel like I can gather so much information using my livescope in such a short amount of time, paired with my experience using similar techniques/rigging methods at different times of year on a wide variety of different fisheries...that when I see the fish react like they did to this rigging method, I know it's legit.
@@MillikenFishing thats awesome! I love how you break these techniques down for the amateur angler like me you've definitely helped me catch a lot more fish! Thank you for responding back!
Yeah .. Arts and Craft Time!!!
I think the juggle minnow would make a great mid strolling bait too! Just swap the terminal for a jighead
Awesome thanks Ben 👍
Hey Milliken, Fishigan Milligan here. Great stuff. I wonder if they would work in the saltwater world on reds and trout. 🤔
Great input on this and another great type of way to fish
Good stuff in this video. Thanks for sharing with us
Seen you out on the lake last week thank you for not showing everything that lake is small as hell max I see is 2-3 people hope it stays that way
this lake is a cheat code lol they bust and school in the middle all day i could close my eyes and catch as many fish as he did
I would LOVE to see you try that right now Mr. Van.
@@MillikenFishing gettem!
I will be trying this! Thanks for the tips!
I also see you are suffering from addiction issues. That's what i do for a living because I've been thru it myself if you want help i will get on a plane tomorrow and show you the way out. Much love brother!
What? hahaha
@@MillikenFishing I'm saying
So I love Ben and have been an mf’er for like 7 years but Japan dosent put out clout baits they have been tested and tested again to be perfection.. I’ve never felt like such a bad ass bass master when this video came up and I had a biwa rig already tied on baby
I've been using this technique with the cheap Walmart jordan Lee drop shot minnows. It's been killing them. Been using ned easy shinner with there little 1/32 ewg hook they have and using it as a jerk bait. Doing it on slack line gives it a darting action they can't leave alone.
Awesome information Ben. Thanks
Saw a Hover video last night --- can not recall the gentleman's name. He suggested using a lighter to heat the nail weight (perhaps 8-10 seconds) to avoid loss of terminal tackle & subsequent tearing of soft plastic. I'll be trying "a dose of heat" this week !
Just buy the core tackle hover rig and you’ll be playing around with rigging a lot less! No nail weights lost
Very interesting, great to
Great video. Already ordered my baits going to try it
Great video Milliken, I use my Knot Assist 2.0 on my kayak as a vise to do that AM keeper trick. It also allows me to hold the 6# braid I use for this.
Nice camera work Cole!
My MAN!!! Straight up game changing is your middle name my dude. Best content on the tube! 🌳😎🌲 Keep’em cummin
Hey Ben since you don’t mind using a weight with the head being exposed maybe try the big bite baits Ned head screw lock
Gonna try it. Might add a drop of super glue to the weight. Thanks for the info.
Killer breakdown, thanks
Hi Ben , thought of something ,what if you cast the darter jig head from do -it with out the hook and clean it up a bit say the 1/8 or even 1/4 and stick in in the front ,I'm sure it won't pull out as the darter as a barb. Will give it a try my self. thanks
take it easy
I love the new rig I have used it with success.
Whacking em!💥
theres actual hover shot rigs at core tackle so you dont just burn trough nail weights or things like that
We're about to have arts & crafts time 😂
As always great video!
Good Deal! Thanks for that info!
I think I'm gonna have a use for this rig and I'm gonna start trying it in the next week or two. Not for largemouth though. I'll let you know
😯 ....Dude!!! You just showed me something awesome. Right now I'm going through the lock jaw syndrome with my local hot spot. They are killing small Bluegill since there's no shad. They will strike topwater before the light hits the sky early morning. I've had a small success with the original fluke rigged with a 1/0 worm hook but they lose interest within 30 minutes. Never considered a hover shot. Thanks to you, I'm fixing to kill em tomorrow morning!!!! Have you ever tried scent added to your bait??? Lately, that's been my secret. I use Fishsticks attractant. It is kinda like chap stick like Chummin Rub used to be but better. I'm even going to try it on a Roboworm. Time for me to study Hover shot today and get all the info I can take in. Free rig works great around here. But I've showed too many that technique. Thank you for sharing
Damn those 6th sense baits look fire
Great video thanks
Yeah man fishing has been very hard for me lately
Thank You bro!!! I am about to pull out what hair I have left trying to get these fish to bite in West Texas heat and clear water.
Shoulder to shoulder on the bank on Biwa w/ a 4' 8 ultra LL on 1lb test. Hired.
Matt Stefan has intro'd the Hover Rig (Core Tech) that adds the nose weight and 90 degree eyed hook in one unit. Very nice. 18:52
It's like a balanced leech for fly fishin noice!
Love your sunglasses, can you give the name on the one you wore here?
I’d be willing to bet the glitch would work the same way 🤔
I'm gonna try this mod w/ my new 5.2 Flush
I’ll give it a try
Once I find the bass
Cant wait to try this out. Also what size nail weight would you recomend?
Great show !!! You ever try that on walleye ? Don't know if you have any or not. thanks
Very Nice parabolic rod; however, the description @ American legacy is misleading. The eyelets are micro eyelets and will make braid to leader application difficult. Is this rod available with different size eyelets?
Great stuff here! By the way, what would be your top 5 color recommendations?
where did yatzee come from!? deal and you bet? where did it all come from? ???? love this shizzz
Great content!
That looks great just curious and I'm gonna have to try in saltwater for flounder
Been doing this for a while with flukes 🙌🏽 with a weightless hook . The fluke will actually work away from you if you pop it and give slack
Cool video!
Good one Ben.
