For those who didn't take chemistry, my guess is that this song revolves around the chemical family Alkaline Earth Metals (the 2nd most reactive family on the periodic table). Alkali is also an ionic salt (a base) that dissolves in water easily (explains "fighting just to breath"). The song describes how they're Alkaline, always searching, "lost in ecstasy" and "tied in what we find". Heck, the entire song

This is the best out of the 3 (my opinion)
They definitely are underrated and deserve more appreciation. I saw them when they were the support act on Selena Gomez her tour and they blew me away with their amazing talent. I am obsessed with each song of them, Alkaline gives me chills.

I listened to this so long ago, I remembered the album picture and that I liked a very abstract song and couldn't remember the name of the group or song. The meaning of the song is that everytime Timeflies comes on you need to turn them right up!! Not all songs have meanings, sometimes the music is supposed to be enjoyed carelessly and not have a meaning
