I remember the 70s and 80s here. When the Sparrows Nest caravan site was a small community. We were site 123. Evening walks along the sea wall. That ill never forget. Super times. Thanks for the upload. Keith.
It was so good to watch this,coz my dad and grandad worked the Kensington gardens boating lake it brought back memories thank you for sharing this it made my day 😀 😊
My hometown too. Dad would often take us to the Kensington Gardens boats back in the late 60s. Thanks for sharing this and bringing back so many cherished, childhood memories. Cheers!
Well done for some remarkable clear footage. I'm a Lowestoftian and its pre 1962 as our family Ice Factory is not present in the Lowestoft fish Market background. The dear old electric boating lake at Kensington gardens, low voltage passing from a grid above and down the pick up through the electric motor to the water.....wonderful. Would'nt be allowed today (health and safety). I was five in 62' and its so lovely to see how it used to be, nobody on mobile phones or computers. Thanks for uploading.
sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Felix Deshawn thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.

I visited Lowestoft a couple of years ago, and the locals described to me how wonderful the seafront used to be. Nothing much there now.
Thank you for uploading this video of my hometown. What a wonderful piece of history and so well preserved.

@Felix Deshawn It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out :D
@Roberto Graham No problem xD
Nice little video. I was born in Lowestoft in 1945 and left in 1964.
Am I correct in thinking that the paddle boats on the lake were made of wood before the GRP ones came into service?
Great film. Nowadays I fear that all the kids would just be sitting on the benches playing with their smart phones!
My very first job, wading out too those that could not steer a boat lol
ie The 70's for me
is the miniature railway still there ?
I never knew there was a miniature railway. There's very little there now. All grassed over
I remember it there in the 70’s but long gone now, along with most of the promenade activities
