Hi - thanks for checking out the lesson! Here I'm thinking Dorian with the Eb (b5 of A) note borrowed from the blues scale. Or, you could look at as the Blues scale with an added B (2nd of A), and F# (6th of A). Either way - the main idea is combining Blues and Dorian. - Ben Z.
I like that lesson. Good balance of inspiring examples and easy frames that you are giving. Many of the great guitarists of your level in the tutorials on the internet rather demotivate me as a not so advanced player. You really motivate. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this great video! I need to do some soloing over this tune next week and I needed some new ideas and these are GREAT! I've been rehearsing your ideas for the last week and really having fun with them. Regarding the scale you're using, it just hit me today that I've seen a scale like this before! If you think about this as the notes of the G major scale with an added #5, this is called the "G Sixth Diminished scale". Jazz piano great Barry Harris has taught this scale for many, many years (anyone interested just google him). It's funny that I didn't recognize it until just now. Of course there are many ways to look at it. That's just one more way. Thanks again!

Nice lesson. For the scale at 11:30, were you thinking Dorian or Aolean with an additional note being the Eb or some other scale/mode??
