That HK is really surprising! Cool video bro! 💪🏼🔥
Great test and even better info! You da man!!!
Looks like I'll be ordering the HobbyKing Servo thanks for the video and the info. Keep up the good work
it draws too many amps!
Great video excellent test always
Really cool video! I've had a bunch of the jx 6221's, and they have been ok. Ive used a jx 6015... And It is a great 11 doller servo! Im not sure it has a lot of torqe but in a 1/8 buggy it was almost as fast and drove as good as a savox sv 1273tg. Only noticable benifite to the savox servos I have used, is they center better than any others I have tried. I have a savox sv1271 in my mbx7r eco and it is about perfect for how I drive. I want to try the power hd 20kg. And that hobbyking servo! Great performance for under 20!
great test! got the 6221mg for a beater 4WD. for 10 bucks shipped, i have no complaints.
Nice and informative vid!
Thanks!
Awesome brother,,very good info bro
power HD is amazing!
Really useful consumer advise. Thanks.
awesome video💪🏻
Thank you for the info👍👍
I use a JX 32kg on my 8S Powered Talion which turns my Xmaxx mounted wheels with zero issues!! Good video
I wish I had money to buy all these nice servos I keep reading about. LoL I’d have a box full.
Great info! Thank you. 👍
Thanks for sharing this video. Subscribed 😉
Thanks and keep up good work
If I'm doing the math correctly, the 6V inner hole tests translate to actual torques of:
JX6221: 9.4 kg-cm
DS3218: 12 kg-cm
PowerHD: 14 kg-cm
HK 15298b: 19kg-cm
I think thats not right
The powerhd servo has better electronics because it uses less amps to hold stall which is important. The Hobbyking 15298b is outstanding for it's torque.Thank you for the test.
Great video awesome testing thanks this is my first video I've watched of yours surely not last. But I need a real decent heavy servo i got a everest10 and I've gone thew 3 ecopowers and a futaba as well as stock? If the gears don't fail its the circuit board, I need something waterproof and a brute under a bill
Great real test! Like the charts! Which ones have ball bearings, single, dual? Waterproof?
The ds3218 coming with a horn, and then the performance of it, makes me feel good about running them for a budget friendly choice.
Yep
Awesome- love this kind of thing! Thank you for sharing.
I have been defaulting to the PowerHD servos recently, and looks like a decent choice.
Do you have any way to test speed also? Power is just one piece of the equation.
I don't have a way to give an accurate way to get the speed numbers, I just did what I could with the comparison.
Thanks man!
i bought the Ds3218 pro and i think it's a good servo
If you ever get your hands on the power hd lw-25mg would be cool to see how it compares to there other servos you’ve tested
Great info! I'm really surprised that the 6221 did so poorly. I have one in my Clone Hammers and it's got enough torque to twist the whole chassis.
maybe this one is a dud?
@@ExocagedRC or maybe the chassis of the Clone Hammers is way weaker than I realize! But, this 6221 does seem to be WAY stronger than the 150oz servo that originally came in my Gen7, so you may indeed have a dud. Are you interested in testing another one if I pull it out of the truck?
@@BudgetRC_ChannelI'd be happy to put another one on the tester just to see.
@@ExocagedRC Did you test it again?
Fredrik Stjernqvist no sir. I did make a servo winch video out of it.
I have a power hd and I really like it for the price
check out the JX 5821 LV. I recently got it for 17 bucks on amazon, it's something like 20kg torque and 0.16s! not bad at all! love it on my Pro SC 4x4! Got a Savox 1257TG recently for my new losi scte 2.0 build in the works though!
thanks for the vid! is it normal that the hobby king and power hd are noisy under load?
Great test 👍. I bought two of those "Tr@##@$" servos, who shall remain not named. But my question is they were super expensive and I like them on my TRX and my slash. But it would be nice to know who they source these from. They have too be rebranded right?? I think alot of us would like to know the answer. Please help.
hej i just bought the hobbyking servo but now its says its an 11,5kg servo and not a 20kg anymore do you think they still be the same?
2 power hd on the way... damn trax-ass servos and the erevo comes with 2!
I use the zoskay/animos 25kg. Good amount of torque off Amazon for only $22
I will have to give that one a try
The DS 3218 pro was in my rustler 4x4 and survived less than a year it's jitterly and barely can move back to center position under it's own power even in standing position and interfere with the TSM system it overcorrects and basically sent the car off the road...
I just removed a 100$ savox sc-1267sg from my gmade buffalo. My girlfriend hated the constant beeping. Swapped to a 15$ spt5425lv. The cheap servo doesn't have the high pitch beeping. Maybe because the savox is a high speed racing servo and the cheap spt is made for crawlers.
Showing the servo while you're talking about it would help a lot
Great Test. There is a New DS3221servo rated at 25kg.. Hope you Test It in the near Future.
Yeah someone sent me a pic of it. I’ll see if I can get it along with a few others in the near future
@@ExocagedRC [R$52,52 46% OFF]DSSERVO DS3225 25KG 180 Degree Metal Gear High Torque Waterproof Digital Servo For RC Airplane Robot RC Parts from Toys Hobbies and Robot on banggood.com
banggood.app.link/LlhMZdzS6V
Ever tried the onyx s45 standard metal gear servo?
Did they all have the same angle range? That effects gearing ratios and torque. Also the speed of the spin will change torque as well. A slow spinning motor will have more pulling force.
Angle has nothing to do with torque. If you remove the pin that prevents it from rotating beyond then it can sit there and just spin.
@@KTMcaptain What I mean is if the range is 180 as opposed to 270, the amount of torque offered by the motor is different.
MrSirFluffy I know, that doesn’t change the torque. It’s a dc motor driving a gear set. It can spin 1 million degrees and not change its mechanical leverage. This would be true of something that has a natural end point and requires mechanical leverage to change it. The motor can just spin twice as much if need be.
.
You must not be a traxxas person. Everything they sell comes with shit servos that break. My erevo servo literally just spins and spins because the sensored gear no longer moves with the motor driving it.
.
Even the speed doesn’t dictate how much torque. A fast spinning servo can use gearing for the speed, which would cut down on possible torque, or it could use a lower resistance motor that draws more current and produces more heat.
Thanks ,second test I have see on a JX servo ,very dissapointing same as DS3218 ,no were near spec .
great video sir, i want ask question about turning angle why the PowerHD 20kg compare to DS 3218 has less turning angle, powerHD 20kg just like 35 degree and DS about 50 degree?
and can we set the angle without any electronic modul, just from EPA on transmitter such as in MT4 Sanwa?
Thanks
some servos simply travel further than others, yes your radio should have epa that you can adjust up to and maybe a bit over 120
@@ExocagedRC thankyou for replying, nice info sir
Good morning
I've had three of the JX servos and they don't center themselves well at all I'm constantly messing with my steering trim.
I just got the 46kg SHV servos for the next project, I hope they center well.
Im new to rc. How do you get different volts supplied to the servo? Does it draw power based on battery size?
The esc have an output specifically for the receiver. That comes out of its built in battery eliminator circuit (BEC). You can also use separate bec’s for more amps.
What does it mean if your servo winds super loud like the power hd and hobby kind servo?
its all in the drivers in the control board, its not a bad thing but on a quiet trail or course they can get annoying. Savox are notoriously loud.
I seeeeee thanks bud!🤙🏽
I'm new to rc cars, I have a kyosho tki3, which servo would you recommend? Another question are all servos the same for all rc cars?
You’re going to want a faster servo than you see here. What’s your budget?
@@ExocagedRC What can I get for $ 40?
hobbyking is good, but you will need a BEC cuz the amp draw is huge, powerHD seems perfect for user who doesn't wanna go thru installing a BEC
yes, the PowerHD has that amp/power limiting feature which should make them ideal for stock trucks with no BEC.
@@ExocagedRC i think that feature only comes in their latest models. from your previous video i think the amp draw was well over 4 amps, i think mine powerHD 20kg which purchased few month ago did not have the amp limiting feature either, and is making my TRX4 factory ESC glitch like crazy, but i will install my HW 1080 system soon, hopefully no more glitch
@@papachillyeah the stock TRX esc is only rated to 1A so everything is too much, including the stock one lol
Why is the JX6221 7v inner hole number less than the 6v inner hole number? 160.4 vs 165.2
No idea
Is that hobby king waterproof....I went to link but didn't see that it was
I don't believe it is waterproof
what is the cheapest
Is that a different Power HD 20KG than last time? Last test i thought i remembered it putting out a fair bit more torque than that.
It’s a different servo yeah. These low cost servos vary a bit. I’d expect a Reefs or 3BRC to hold across all of them. I’ve also noticed that as time goes on the servos get out good and strong but the manufactures start getting cheap, the 959 is a perfect example, the v2’s have gotten really cheap inside lately.
What is the measurement unit? it is not clear.
Aer Dronix it’s simply how many ounces it can pull
@@ExocagedRC Ok, so it is ounces. I was sure it cannot be kg/10 :) I am from EU, so kg makes more sense to me, but I will convert. Thanks for the quick reply!
JX is good for Helicopter?
HeliModTRC I wouldn’t use it for a helicopter. But I’m not a helicopter guy so my input on that isn’t the best.
@@ExocagedRC Thanks. Why not use it? Is there a special reason?
HeliModTRC the jx servos seems to have a timer that shuts them down underload, I’m just not sure if I would trust them in a plane or helicopter. They may work fine but I wouldn’t.
Noo I bought a ds3218 yesterday :c
you got a good servo bud, it should serve you well.
Power hd 20kg is now 40$
Really? Wow
your servo tester is not acurate first thing your power supply can not handle current to servo you can see it as a voltage drop for example you set 6V but under load your votage drop to 5.5V that is to much... and the second thing is your weight meter is not very well connected to the base for example you can see move the whole meter move down when servo pull becase this thing test in not accurate at all
300 ounces is only about 8 kilos
Torque. 300 oz/in = 21.6023 kg/cm.
@@UltraMagnus-jt7qr thx
everything sold out lol
Sorry, but you need to have the center screw installed on every test on each servo. The servo horn is twisting without the screw. Faulty test.
The servo horn has a screw on the side to snug it down.Test were fine
Nothing slipped and the servos weren’t strong enough to kill it and yeah the side bolt was tight enough that nothing moved.
@@Fiaudiodude Both you and him need to watch the video "again" You can clearly see the servo horn twist. Test on all but the one he had the screw installed were faulty.
Try using your eyes and look closely.
@@johnnyyuma9326 Even if it was twisting the servo horn the servo still had more throw and was tapped out on power. Adding the center screw isn't going to change anything as it didn't jump teeth
@@Fiaudiodude Yes, it would change it. Think!
