He grew so much, he saw the reality that Jing Yuan only sees him for him & is the only one who knew Dan Feng so closely yet didn’t impose that identity on him like others. He believed in Dan Heng’s choice & eventually Dan Heng came to believe in Jing Yuan. That’s why in penacony Dan Heng tries to summon Jing Yuan because he’s the only one Dan Heng entrusts to save his family. He has come so far from ‘I’m not him’ to ‘I will visit my old friend’. As far as relationship development goes, this is the best & most natural one yet in HSR. Kudos to writers for writing such relatable relationships.
Finally someone who sees and describes their relationship properly. THOSE certain people always undermine the relationship between both JY and DF and JY and DH when it's obviously the most developed out of the high cloud quintet. Danheng really deserves someone who sees him as his own person.

I am so head over heels with this deep / lower harmony at around 2:05. Something about deep harmony just sounds so full with tone and sustain. Makes my ears happy, and gives me chills. I don't think we'll ever be able to thank Cyyu and Nicholas enough for this. Singing that low couldn't have easy for Cyyu as he's never sung in the Jing Yuan voice before (as far as I know), so he must have been working on it! And it is MAGNIFICENT.

Listening to this after the finishing 2.4’s story gives it even more of a meaning. Spoilers ahead, so don’t read if you haven’t finished 2.4-
These two are both so selfless, they both are willing to go to great lengths for people they care about and that includes each other. Jing Yuan not wanting to send Dan Heng to shackling prison for his testimony even though it’s needed for his innocence to be proven, Dan Heng not hesitating for one moment to go back to the place filled with traumatic memories if it meant he could help Jing Yuan.
Like if this isn’t dedication, I don’t know what is. Even though their relationship started quite hot & cold because of Dan Heng thinking Jing Yuan only sees Dan Feng in him. He grew so much, he saw the reality that Jing Yuan only sees him for him & is the only one who knew Dan Feng so closely yet didn’t impose that identity on him like others. He believed in Dan Heng’s choice & eventually Dan Heng came to believe in Jing Yuan.
That’s why in penacony Dan Heng tries to summon Jing Yuan because he’s the only one Dan Heng entrusts to save his family.
He has come so far from ‘I’m not him’ to ‘I will visit my old friend’.
As far as relationship development goes, this is the best & most natural one yet in HSR. Kudos to writers for writing such relatable relationships.
Looking forward to their further growth. I feel like it’s Jing Yuan’s turn next to actually open up & truly share his worries with Dan Heng. That he can’t share with his family & other friends due to his status as the General of the Luofu.
i genuinely didnt think i could love this song any more than i already do it is an absolutely beautiful song in chinese but you both did such justice to it in english and i love it even more now
