Hi Sarah. If I do the long tail cast on I use 2 separate strands of yarn, either from the same ball, or, one from each of 2 balls. No need to judge the length then.... and you can use 2 colours if you want. Very much enjoyed your episode and am inspired by your blanket.....I'm learning to crochet....never too late, maria

The tank that heats the water is called ‘the boiler’.
I too make mistakes at night when I am tired and keep falling asleep over my knitting, so I now have to be firm with myself and put my knitting down and go to bed!

I sure wish I could go to your festival for a wonderful day, but it is too far for me to travel. I love to hear all about your knitting and sewing in a positive and upbeat manner. I truly think I was born on the wrong continent, but I will just enjoy it from afar! 🤗

By kettle, you mean boiler (the big one on your wall, that heats water for your shower 😅). At least this is how it called in the UK 😊
I love all the tank-tops you make and planning to make. You inspired me to make a few as well. And i decided mine will be used as a slipovers over my shirts for a winter extra warm layering piece. This way I can use all the mohair I have, which normally I can not wear if it's in clothes that are close to my skin. Tank tops over shirts are never close to skin, perfect 👌

Hello Sarah, new subscriber, Vera from Ireland. Your garments are gorgeous. I've never used pure silk yarn but I think I will try it now. The pattern and colour of your top are really lovely. I love your skirt too, and truly admire your skills in being able to make a complete outfit you are really beautiful!

Oh just so great to see the podcast and all the exciting things especially the tops you have made. The festival is very expensive (in AUD it's $75-82 ) here, entry to such festivals is around $24 AUD. I guess you have a lot of free things for attendees and the workshops if there are any are free. here we pay for the individual workshops if we want to go but there are some free workshops too. Of course I am too far away to attend :-) but I can't wait to see what goes on there in the IG posts and other people's posts.

In the US, we would also bring a treat to school for our Birthday...it didn't have a fancy name, we would just call it a Birthday Treat...I had a summer birthday and was sad that I could never share a birthday treat with my class.

Wish I could come to your festival but I live in Michigan, USA. Sounds like so much fun! Love all the podcasters you mentioned. Maybe all the podcasters will each do a podcast at the festival.

Sarah, you are such a delight! I find myself laughing and smiling as I watch you whilst knitting in the evening. I love the ‘decent steps’ whist wearing a narrow long skirt! I hope to slow down and take more decent steps instead of rushing around.

I love your podcast - I found it through a friend in Australia just after I returned home from my last visit to the Netherlands last year. I was born here in Australia but my parents were Dutch and all my cousins are still there and live quite near you. So when I heard about the K2P2 festival I knew I had to go. So I will be there. Dutch was my first language but then I forgot how to speak it but I can understand and read it. So lovely 😢that you are making this event happen and bringing the knitting community together.😊

A very cheerful episode as usual dear Sarah. If you are still interested in learning some English.....Id like to offer some words. When you talk about things in the past, like yesterday or before, you dont need to say I did make, or did knit, or did talk. You rather use less words and simply say I made, I knitted or I talked. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for the fun and games. I am actually from South Africa and we talk Afrikaans, a derivative of Dutch, so I do understand most of your Dutch words. xx

I had trouble doing the magic knot also. After a while, and after getting frustrated, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. You can't make both knots with the same yarn. In other words, if you have a blue yarn and a red yarn, one kmot has to be with the red yarn and one knot has to be with the blue yarn. Hope this helps.

Dear Sarah, I always look forward to your podcast episodes, sitting comfortably in my armchair knitting and listening to you. As I was born in Aken, your dutchy English gives me home vibes. Heartjumping!
And of course I'm coming to Breda for the k2p2 festival. My husband is coming with me, if only so that I can show a few more of my knitted pieces on him as a model. 😇
    Best wishes from Cologne!

We used to bring snacks for birthdays in primary school,. We used to bake things to bring, but I don't think they are allowed to do it anymore. Too many children with food allergies, so they don't do the birthday celebrating in school anymore (New York State in the US).

Alhoewel wanneer Nederlanders vinnig praat verloor ek bietjie.
Lees is vir my maklik en by die kwekery lees ek die strokies van die blomme wat julle vir ons stuur.
Ek voel geseën dat ek darem UA-cam het, want daar is soveel interessante mense met baie talente.
So bly oor jou inleiding musiek.
Sterkte vir jou besige lewe. X

Aw Sarah, you are so happy today ìn your podcast! You make my heart happpy with your enthusiam and joy. ❤ when you paused your headphones by tapping your ear and saying 'pause' made me laugh out loud. I so wish i could go to the k2p2 festival it sounds fabulous! Can you consider asking someone to go around and record a little something for ùs, perhaps? Or maybe Inga or Jana could record a bit for their podcast? By the way, if it is alright, can i just advise you that the boiler heats the house heating water, the kettle heats your coffee water. I love your makes too! Your top suits you so much, ❤❤❤

Sarah would you please tell me how you have joined your smaller and large granny squares together for you blanket/rug.. I usually crochet a continuous granny square until the required size. I am currently crocheting dancing granny square small and larger ones in block colours. I have not knitted for goodness knows how many years but I seen your tube scarf and thought I would like to try knitting again. 😂 Is your pattern worked in stocking stitch purl row + plain row. I may just do plain rows. I have never used cable needles. Something new to do as a retirement experienced for me.
    Thanks for your inspiration!
