The states need to follow suit and require employees to work in the office or leave. The courts must assist with breaking the union contracts that allow or require anyone to work from home. Taxpayers are not getting their money's worth from these employees.

Government workers are the least productive in the U.S. but have great salaries and benefits. Most of them came from Wall-Mart. Biden gave them a 5% raise last year to buy their votes.
Lol, your whole statement is ridiculous. Actually salaries are lower than the private sector. Most of my coworkers have master degrees or at least a Bachelors degree and years of experience.
I made $20,000 more in the private sector than I do working for the federal government doing the same job. Everyone that thinks that federal employees make all this money really need to educate themselves. I work for the VA near the San Francisco Bay area and I bring home less than $55,000 a year. But I don’t work with veterans for the money -coming from a military family I do it to give back to those who have served my country for me and sacrificed.

Because office spaces cost money on the public dime too, and if their work isn't public facing and can be done digitally why make them come in wasting their time and wasting the government's money.
By not requiring taxpayers to pay for transit subsidies. If every federal workers suddenly had to commute five days a week the cost would be astronomical. And transit subsidies are well entrenched in labor laws and can't simply be revoked
I have worked in the VA for the last 11years at multiple locations. Most of the buildings do not have the space to house the staff. Also, where is the evidence to say that staff working from home are not working. The government has all sorts of positions and some do not require client contact. Why can’t that employee have some work life balance? There is a lot to unpack here we should deal in facts not assumptions
For example, I worked as a therapist with the VA. Two days a week I worked from home. On those days I had six 1 hour sessions scheduled in my eight hour day. The other two hours included lunch, 2 breaks, meetings and documentation. Working from home allowed me to conduct virtual sessions offering those Veterans with jobs, families etc the ability to have their appointments on the go saving gas and travel time. Plus they didn’t have to take off from work to commute to my office struggle with traffic and parking. Things to consider…
@@shawnd861 Very true, I work for a private company, in which during COVID, they sold tons of office space and has the WFH. This allowed the company to save funds and the lease. Currently there is a rental company that wants to acquire the office due to its' spacious nature and able to handle high car volumes in the parking lot. Prior to this, when I worked in downtown Dallas, many business were failing as the could not recover from COVID, so many office buildings are being turned to apartments and condos. Now, Trump's idea comes off as hypocritical and very out -of -touch from the average civilian. First, he used funds to play at Mar Lago during his presidency term. Second, presidents technically work from home since they "live" in the white house and work there as well. The private sectors thrives from having people work from home. Third, insurance crises is quite significant as many people who drive to work will experience car accidents and rates have not gone down, this is impacting both the insurance companies and commuters. Lastly Trump is against environmental friendly, less likely to build trains or LRTs to alleviate traffic, which would increase traffic on the road. Definitely not the brightest idea from this guy, but I believe he is saving his circle.
The difference between Private company Tesla is that they can allowed remote work, i'm not paying them. I'm paying the federal employees with my tax money, they should be at work, not home.
I agree they should be at work, but federal workers pay just as much taxes as anyone else, no one gets a break; I retired from the 23 years of federal employment and I still pay taxes.

@jg8464 Yeah, and less traffic in the highways. Also, allows them to date in remote countries or other states too. Because in some liberal cities, it's impossible to find a girlfriend. Because the good girls in those cities are already taken and there are none left.
They’re saving the U.S. money by working from home. Light bills, heating bills, building maintenance cost, rent. My wife not federal but work from home I’m paying for high speed Wi-Fi and higher water bills , heating cost and she never missed a day since remote work started.
You don't know what your talking about. Get a job with the federal government. Guaranteed you won't be able to handle the workload. Try it before you run your mouth
In 1993, Ross Perot had an analogy about non taxpayer facing government employees: "that if a common person saw a government employees job title and didn't understand what that person did, then that government employee is a burden." This comment resulted in a ratings boost for Perot. We can expand in this: if the government employee can't be seen by the common person, then that government employee is a burden." Finally, after 30 years, we now have someone who is going to do something about it.
Yep, and the tax payer can pay for all the office space they have to rent to do nothing with! Sounds like a win/win to me, the real estate moguls will profit off the government's laziness and the workers will still do nothing.
Yes, get back to work or you’re fired. Your ignorant, how much golf should Donald Trump be allowed to play?. you need to check how much golf he played during his last administration and see what it cost to American people get back to work like I said before your ignorant
They may not have enough office space for everyone to be in person, you have to contract out leases for office space you know. That in itself costs money, which is why WFH is good, it saves money.
The reason being that employees will have to spend money on cars, gas, expensive rent in the city, lunches in expensive restaurants and outrageously expensive coffee at Starbucks, helping corporations and hurting them...
No, it is actually in the companies best convenience to do WFH. Many big corps sold their office space due to how expensive the lease became during COVID. When I worked in Dallas, many offices were turned into apartments, condos in downtown Dallas.
Private Companies are calling employees back to the Office since they found productivity has gone down for employees who work from home (amazon, financial companies etc)
Oh my God, I am so tired of stupid. Why don’t you research and see how much money Donald Trump cost the American people playing golf his first term if you can do your job from your house then do it.❤
American people voted for Donald Trump to bring down their groceries to make America affordable again. What does this have to do with him bringing down groceries?🤔
so government workers just received a 4.7 percent pay raise a 2.5 percent COLA increase for 2025, they also had their college tuitions paid off , plus they work from home , Must be nice
I am all for working from home when you are in a private corporation but not the government. But that being said if you have a disability you should work from home under the ADA law.

Soooooo........people don't understand how this works and how this benefits them. The government, for the most part these days lease out properties cause is better to lease than to pay millions of dollars in taxes in land. By working from home, that money can be allocated to other departments. Government workers also get paid to travel via locally via EZ Passes, which has saved millions of dollars for taxpayers in the last few years. The people complaining either don't work in D.C., or only worked in one area of government. There are only a handful of jobs that can work from home. The rest are going in every day to provide a service to the American People. Government is not a business that provides revenue, it provides services to the public. Bringing them back to a building, is going to hurt federal workers, their families and the public.
We pay the taxes for them to work in buildings we pay taxes for them to be in. This just proves we don't need many of those agencies or those workers so we can abolish those agencies and save billions
It will definitely effect employee morale! What really pisses me off, is they're jumping right out front, informing the masses what they're doing on day one. Deporting Eastern Indians, central & South Americans, many folks from Latino countries. Putting a stop to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Etc., etc., etc. He's not planning to do any of the things he promised he would. I don't know how you feel about that but, I'm angry. I knew he wouldn't do anything he said he would, and I didn't vote for him. He said more than once he was working for all of America, I knew that was a lie. Donald Trump is a loser and a sucker!!
It will also cause more traffic, higher gas prices and higher insurance because of more accidents. If someone can do their job from home, stay off the roads. I can't. There are enough bad drivers on the road as it is.
Everyone who works for government including contractors and regular employees all has to be treated equally. Why only mandates federal employees back to office, not federal contractors? Treat everyone equally, but someone is more equal than others?

@@B-ball-p3p Donald Trump is a billionare, He can play golf using his own money , on his own golf course. He did not take pay for his job as President 45, not like others filling their bank with tax payers money and by selling America to China, LOL

God, you're an idiot. Think about 2 million workers, you think all of them are evil trash? Sounds like you aren't a patriot just a parrot for hate and bigotry. There are moms and dads that get paid terrible wages working for the feds and they are trying to make things better. Sure there are some assholes that are breaking shit, but most of them are wearing red hats.
There is dishonesty of working from home from some employees. I have seen one gentleman outsourced his works to someone with half of the salary. He used to surf in the beach and play tennis on weekdays.
smart
That is a security breach!
Surfing in the beach would be something to see indeed
That’s smart. He also created another job for someone. Capitalism at it’s finest 😊

ABOUT TIME FOR SECURITY REASONS!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@wat8432 if you are working on something that is high security, you are not taking anything home with you. That info has to be kept secure and doesn't leave the location.
The states need to follow suit and require employees to work in the office or leave. The courts must assist with breaking the union contracts that allow or require anyone to work from home. Taxpayers are not getting their money's worth from these employees.
That is bullsh*t. Employers SAVE money by having their employees work from home. I worked for a tech company and they could easily monitor performance, hours worked, etc. Check it out and quit lying.
Why do you care where they work? Does it in any way make your life better or worse. What are you fed up with?
You don't complain when members of Congress don't show up to do their work but instead travel around with the Villages Idiot and Musk. These members are supposed to be working for the people in their district yet nothing is said when there are no Bills being passed to benefit their areas cause they are not at work. Also compared to the yearly salary these members are making close to $ 180. Thousand a year paid by tax payers.
Tax payers have to pay for office leases too! Larger offices cost considerably more than smaller ones. Employees working from home is a good thing so long as it doesn't interfere with their productivity. Lot of people go to work and end up not doing anything in particular because of hang ups in the office.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people won't have a problem applying for those positions if they decide not to show up.
Trump is planning to cut the number employees on Federal govt... the first step are to get rid of employee that does not want to go back to office. No replacement needed.
Typical…woefully uninformed and obtuse
I made $20,000 more in the private sector than I do working for the federal government doing the same job. Everyone that thinks that federal employees make all this money really need to educate themselves. I work for the VA near the San Francisco Bay area and I bring home less than $55,000 a year. But I don’t work with veterans for the money -coming from a military family I do it to give back to those who have served my country for me and sacrificed.
@@stephenr4145Why do you think the government is the most unproductive organ of society?
@@the.empty.nester Wow! Cue the national anthem. You're such a hero. Tenure after 3 years so you can't be fired. Now they are complaining they have to go to the office. Have you seen the starting salaries on USA jobs? That's why the U.S.government is the least productive body in the world.
If you are a government employee whose salary is paid for by tax dollars, shouldn't be allowed to be unionized.
Why?
Yeah that is what FDR wanted
Yes of course for government employees. They are public servants. How will they serve the public if they are working from home.
Yes 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great news
The difference between Private company Tesla is that they can allowed remote work, i'm not paying them. I'm paying the federal employees with my tax money, they should be at work, not home.
I agree they should be at work, but federal workers pay just as much taxes as anyone else, no one gets a break; I retired from the 23 years of federal employment and I still pay taxes.
@deemcinnis so what are you saying? You were a lazy federal worker?
Why? If they can get their work done more efficiently from home. You want them to spend money on gas on a car, waste their time commuting, etc.? If they have other things in life like family or kids, letting them work from home would be better. It's about the end result and measurable, quantifiable contribution, not whether they work from home or at the office.
@jg8464 Yeah, and less traffic in the highways. Also, allows them to date in remote countries or other states too. Because in some liberal cities, it's impossible to find a girlfriend. Because the good girls in those cities are already taken and there are none left.
@jg8464 Uh yes I'm agreeing with you
Just fire those who don't come to work... They are wasting our TAX PAYER MONEY...

GOOD! 👏👏👏 Maybe some, hopefully many of my colleagues that are teleplaying and committing weaponized incompetence will retire.
Does this apply to congress and the house representatives as well. Or, as usual, it only applies to the “little” people?
Only the little people, oh yeah and these office spaces will naturally have to be leases out at great expense to the real estate moguls.
1000% agree. getting paid work at home but enjoying life outdoor

Yep, and the tax payer can pay for all the office space they have to rent to do nothing with! Sounds like a win/win to me, the real estate moguls will profit off the government's laziness and the workers will still do nothing.

Federal employees should not be able to protest.....they need to understand Trump's not bluffing.
