- This is a breathtakingly beautiful live version of Orange Sky by the amazingly talented Alexi Murdoch. Alexi is helped by the always incredible Pete Townshend and the wonderful Rachel Fuller. This is from the outstanding In The Attic, which was the brain child of the brilliant Rachel Fuller. I do not own any rights to this video, but I certainly hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This song was played at the funeral of my 29 year old daughter who, along with her fiancé, were killed by a DUI driver. Then, six months later, it was played at the funeral of my 39 year old son, who died of an overdose after he restarted his drug usage to self medicate after losing his baby sister. I have requested that it be played at mine.

Nick Drake would be proud and honoured if musicians such as these emulated him. Murdoch is great. I love how Townsend modestly, and professionally,gives Murdoch centre stage.
Of course Townsend gave him center stage....that's what guests do.

I feel the same when I heard that line. My twin had moved to Arizona and we did everything together, even worked at the same place. The next day driving into work without him I heard this song. Gets me every time. Even though there's FaceTime & such, it's still tough. Why I'm telling you this who knows. The power of music, even one verse is so powerful!! Great soundtrack to memories! Peace!!

I don't remember the date when I first heard this song, but it's just so timeless.

Pete Townsend and The Who are truly one of the most formative influences in my life growing up in Canada. From the first concert in Toronto in 1981 where they opened with Baba O'Reilly and the explosion from the flash pods in the climax of the song I was launched into a life long relationship with music singing, song writing, guitar and piano and this performance captures the essence of all that for me; a beautiful song supported by a legend with a layer of icing from the piano. Well done and thank you.

Two of the best musicians I admire the most
Usually don't enjoy live stuff, but this one,... Amazing! Its nice to hear someone that has such a great voice.
Murdoch is cut from the same cloth as Tim Buckley and Nick Drake. Outlived them both as well.
Townshend needs no introduction. A forever restless talent that will perform until his last dying breath.

This is at Hotel Cafe in LA I think it was Feb, 2005. It was the first time I had heard of Alexi and he just blew away! Ben Harper was also playing and he signed my guitar before the show. Also, I had a good chat with Pete about the Scilly Isles, where I live, as he used to come on holiday to the islands. I was right at the front standing along side with the Smashing Pumpkins. A great night! I'm so pleased to see this footage

Wow! Didn't think it was possible to make this song better. Townshend's harmonics on the twelve string are extremely difficult and fitting for this song.
