Andreescu singing the OPOM (over-powered and out-matched) blues.
She finished it, even though it was such a lost cause, and she finished it playing. That is progress.
Blinkova can bring some game at times, but Andreescu was TOTALLY lackluster out there on the day. She was quite sluggish on her feet, which was the most obvious deficiency. As a result, she was hitting tons of short balls that Blinkova wisely pounced upon. Bianca just seemed to lack any fire or urgency today. That’s not her game. Maybe this event held little interest for her or she woke up feeling undercooked, but it’s a complete change from her fiery determination displayed in the previous event. She’ll have to really rev things up for Wimbledon. Blinkova was all over everything, but that wasn’t much of a challenge when Bianca was hitting so many short replies and, in many cases, not even running for balls.
i agree. i just think she should of played in Eastbourne
Probably a bit of both. She just came off a nine month lay off and it’s only her third tournament back. Ups and downs happen at this point. She just needs to play more.

Unfortunately for Bianca, the other players are laying in wait for the slice "stuff" to start. She has to get back to making REAL strokes if she is to get back to where she was 3 years ago.

Why is Bianca slicing so many balls like Monica Niculescu? 😮 She looked sapped here, no energy at all. She was so determined last week, especially against Osaka.
Very slow grass courts, am I’m the only one that thinks this?
I thought grass was slick and low. Maybe dry weather?
The video recording is slowed down on purpose. Just play it at 1.25x. I always do. It gives it a bit more realism.

I want to buy tickets for the tournament of national bank but how do i know who will play in round 1? I guess the only way is the wait and see if theirs tickets à day before
They typically don't announce the lineup until a day or two before... So... Hang tight
In Round 1, you usually can walk around and see many players and many matches throughout the day. At least that was my experience in the past US Open.
@@Birdylockso for the national bank tournament you usually buy a day session pass or a night session pass... You can watch any match during the sessions

Just no power in Andreecu's game these days. Average women at best are out hitting her.
Spot on. It's strange to see Andreescu being overpowered like this. And that slice forward she hits has just been getting crushed by everyone.
True except should have been "on this day" instead of "these days" - she just reached a final two weeks ago, winning, among others, against Osaka
@@urbanillustrated that doesn't mean she won with power. She won with her tricks. But in 2019 her tricks complemented the big forehands and serves. These days she has no weapons.
@@tomgraham6071 it is grass, people dont win on grass with power alone. unless you have stats to prove her serve and forhead have become less powerful then tis was just an off day.
@@deusexmachina9776 who said anything about 'just' power? She can keep the drop shots and even the moon balls. She just needs a serve and some potency on her groundstrokes. She had a big forehand at one time.
If Bianca is still having a physical problem, maybe with her back, I can understand her lack of execution today, though I would rather she not play if that is the case. On the other side of the coin, if she was sans any physical problem, I am concerned about her. I would rather she skip Wimbledon unless she is okay in all ways to compete.

Me too...but she was a finalist a few years back and probably had good memories
@@fitness2008 thats true. she did say she wants to play against good players cause it will better help her game and she says it makes her play better.. and looking at the draw homburg has a lot of good players vs Eastbourne. she played in Eastbourn in 2021 she did lose in the second round but also played in doubles with Yulia Putintseva. thats how they became friends. so looks like she hasn't been back in Eastbourne in 3 years now.
