    Not a bad strategy as long as there isn't a 30 mph wind blowing the snow back at you. In that case, I'd shoot the snow in the same direction as the wind is blowing.

    • @TheLawnFellas
      @TheLawnFellas  8 місяців тому +2

      Very true or you can just point the chute downward and it will stay out of the wind!! Some cases this doesn’t work especially if you have a wall to contend with.

    If it’s not heavy, wet snow, try your leaf blower, especially a backpack you would be amazed how much faster it is. It’s like blowing leaves for the snow. Been doing it for years almost don’t even need a snowblower.

    Nice. Few things. Right handers (me!) start left side of blower on best estimation of middle line, and chute to the right (not left) :) You also started one bite more left on both driveways than you should have, but hindsight is 20/20. I agree with your technique. It is funny watching people not doing it this way, but they definitely get a better workout! By the way, I am a Buffalonian and there is much to be said for single-stage for almost a majority of snow falls, even here. Just stay ahead of it the best you can. A single-stage is so, so much faster than a two-stage. I have one each snowblower, choose the single stage way more often. Sorry, one other tip. Put a gas shut-off on your snowblower gas line, when it's stored for a while, shut off gas flow and run what's left out of carb to keep carb clean for next time.

    • @TheLawnFellas
      @TheLawnFellas  7 місяців тому +1

    Oh, another tip. You can adjust the choke lever if the machine is not running smoothly in or out. Sometimes people just put it fully choke or fully unchoke when it can be adjusted to make the SB run the smoothest.

      @TheLawnFellas  7 місяців тому +1

      I always just run it at recommended through the manual. This snowblower is 17 years old. It’s a great snowblower. If you run non ethanol fuel in small engines you get way more out of them. I’ve learned for my driveway there is generally a cross wind that makes this strategy a problem. So unless there is no wind, I move the chute to blow with the wind.

    • @TheLawnFellas

    Using a lawn spreader for salt is the best way to go. One pass and your done. Not the twenty times refilling the big red cup, from the bucket.

    • @TheLawnFellas
      @TheLawnFellas  7 місяців тому +2

      Well that depends. I actually have since bought a handheld spreader. In my opinion that’s the best way to go. You won’t get salt in the grass and can control the salt better. I can do my driveway and walk way with one full up.

      The way I showed on this video is the most efficient way to blow off a driveway. Especially for a homeowner with a single stage snow blower with nothing in the driveway. I thought the engine sounded fine. It’s an older model 2006.

    That blower looks pretty useless. It throws snow about 3-4 feet. I realize it's a single stage, I'm sure you could do better. Especially since you're in the business. 👍

      Actually it works decent. Also I am not in the snow business. Just helping neighbors out. Thanks
