Finally a real gay wedding in a real church, with real music, and who is that priest/minister? What a marvellous job she did. I loved hearing the organ (with trumpet) and the soloists. Thanks for posting this. I hope you guys are still together and having a happy life together.
I have watched this video at least fifty times over the past three years and, even though the video is over six years old, I feel compelled to comment on its excellence. After all of this time, if anyone actually reads this, I apologize in advance that this comment will be quite long. This video, along with its accompanying "Recap", "Preview", and "Sabrina Blaze" videos, has come to mean a lot to me. I am going to divide my comments into sections to make this more manageable. The first section is by far the most important. 1. "The Letters to the Beloves" (hopefully this is spelled correctly) section of the wedding not only reveals a lot about the relationship between Zachary and Jason, but also about their personalities and their degrees of intellect. It is obvious that these letters were written by highly intelligent men with a great deal of ambition. The letters are not only articulate in expressing the deep feelings that they have for each other, but are also written with delightful touches of humor. One would think that they both have university degrees in journalism. (Perhaps they do.) I could write about many things that were expressed in this part of the ceremony, but this would make my comment even longer. I will, however, express my feelings about the one line in the entire ceremony which I think it the most beautiful. This is when Jason reads to Zachary, "I love you for not only who you are, but what I am when I am with you." I am not certain which scenario is better: Having a man making me feel this way or having the ability to make a man whom I love feel this way. Either sounds wonderful. 2. The music in the ceremony was impeccable. The pipe organ and the trumpet were both beautiful and the two vocal selections were truly outstanding. Having _Ave Maria_ sung in Latin really illustrates the excellence inherent of the ceremony. I imagine that the organist, trumpet player, and the two vocalists/pianists are all professional musicians. If not, they should be. 3. The Unitarian Memorial Church is extremely beautiful and the pastor/minister seems to be a truly fine woman. She is not only attractive in appearance, but also very professional and articulate in her speech. She also has a wholesome aura which I really feel adds much to the overall effectiveness of the ceremony. The messages that she presented are really outstanding. 4. The eight female participants added who walked individually down the aisle added a lot to the ceremony. In a straight wedding they would be called bridesmaids, but I suppose in this wedding they would be called "groomsmaids". In any case, they were all very physically-attractive. (I'm gay, not blind.) Obviously, Zachary and Jason are also very physically-attractive themselves. In addition, how fortunate for Zachary and Jason to have a large group of friends and wonderful parents and families who are enthusiastic about their marriage. 5. And finally, I want to comment on "This is My Voice" which was read by and probably written by Kyle (a dear friend). He indicated that people often "use the Bible or what we have learned as a fixed excuse" to express criticism of two men who are in love with each other. I couldn't agree more with Kyle. In the Bible, we read in Romans 3:23 that, "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (NIV). In James 2:10 we find out that, "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." (NIV) From this the Bible is very clear in that all people are guilty of all sins. People who consider gay love to be a sin are also participating in gay love themselves in the eyes of God. Like Kyle, I find it appalling that some straight people are so proud of their sexual orientation that they put down people who are gay by using the Bible "as a fixed excuse". In Ephesians we learn that we are saved by grace through faith and not works. As warned, this is a rather long comment. As with others I wish Zachary and Jason all of the happiness in the world. With their high degree of intelligence and sense of humor, their obvious love for each other, and their excellent families and friends, I am certain that they are very happy anyway. One thing that I wish, however, is that a DVD were available for purchase which contains the ceremony and the accompanying videos. I would love to have it in my DVD collection.
Deeply moving. Here in Australia we had same sex marriage legalised in Dec 2017. Your wedding was an incredibly beautiful example of what we have fought so hard for. We wish you every happiness together. (I cry just about every time I watch it...happy tears).
