Do you suggest High School students to do some kind of medical research in order to get into their ideal universities? How can we land a research position? Do research usually require some sort of medical background knowledge? I have taken a year of phy, chem and bio, how do I know whether I am qualified in landing a research position?
Interesting, I thought pre-med at Stanford would be easier compared to say Johns hopkins or mit owing to their intense academics, but people seem to be grinding here as well.
thanks for the videos guys! You guys are so amazing to give advice... I'm a hs senior applying to colleges and was wondering if you recommend me setting up a LinkedIn account? Even though I'm not in undergrad yet I've heard that its never too late to start networking :-)
Hi again! I was wondering what your majors you guys have (Sameer and Sammy)? When I watched the video last I remember that Sammy mentioned being in a major within the chemistry department? I'm interested in applying to Stanford through the premed route and I'm trying to research/try choosing a major that is bio/chem related. Also do you guys have any tips for researching/choosing majors, especially for premed, at Stanford? Are there any specific websites I should look at? Thanks! :-)
Sameer is Biomedical Computation and Sammy is human biology! Their advice is not to pick a major just because it fits with premed - pick something you like!

Hey Sammy! I wanted to ask you how easy is it to get research opportunities and internships (related to pre-med) at Stanford?
hey!! it's definitely doable - research is competitive but there's lots of opps available. would a vid on this be helpful?

you definitely don’t need one until you’re applying for jobs, but I think LinkedIn is fun! and yes, never too early to get started!
Hi, do you guys have any tips on getting research assistant positions in high school?
yes just research a professor you’re interested in and ask for a coffee chat! and then make the ask

you’re going to do an amazing job! focus on getting good grades and developing a niche passion outside of the classroom (perhaps related to medicine)
But why do u need

I think so. Usually you go through 4 years of pre med and 4 years of med school
