Thank you so much for your hard work. This is one of the most concise and informative resources I have found. Hopefully, you will be able to go through all Books of the Bible to create 5 Minutes studies. I am sure this channel will become super popular with time, it truly deserves it!
Absolute wonderful explanation. I’ve had much trouble with this chapter because of the newer characters but your explanations are so perfect and splendid. These videos will help people for the next 10,000 years at least. Your work is flawless! Thanks so much!
@5:07 I had to go down that rabbit trail of what 1700 shekels is in something I could relate to. According to an online search 1700 shekels is roughly 71 pounds. That's crazy to think about.
1700 shekels is thought to be the equivalent of 19.38kg not 71. Either way no one could wear it, so it must have been fashioned as a stand alone object or sculpture.
@@savourybiscuit I was checking online search again and came up with 42 pounds based on your 19.38kg. It is possible to wear that weight. I can walk wearing 33 pounds in a backback. My son wears more. I think 50 pounds. What actions did the priest perform while wearing an ephod?
@@savourybiscuit Yes. I was telling my son the weight needs to be equalized. If I had to carry it long distance, I would try to swing it to the front and test the weight that way or wear a smaller back pack on the front to equalize the weight. So I wonder if there was a back part to the ephod to make it easier to wear. What were the activities of the priest while they wore the ephod? I don't think they were hiking, so the weight would be tolerable. Not comfortable mind you. It would be a heavy responsibility.
Quick check brother. the army was 135,000 men that they brought to battle. 120,000 were killed in the chaos, leaving us with the 15,000 we see in this chapter
Yes, and in the following chapter we see the demise of Gideon's lineage. The Bible isn't about showing perfect righteous men. It's about a perfect righteous God using imperfect unrighteous men to do His will because He still loves us despite our shortcomings.
Like apples, a chapter a day helps keep evil away. Great job.
Thanks brother. I’m really enjoying following along daily. I probably only get about 25% of the messages form these chapters reading it alone. 😅🙏🏼
Thank you sir... GOD BLESS YOU
Thank you for this! You are part of my daily routine. This is a great light - excellent !

Ty for creating this channel such a huge help for me

With 70 sons Gideon didn’t celebrate Father’s Day instead he celebrated Father’s Month
Does his creation of the ephod for himself imply he was putting himself in place of a priest?

@@BookZealots okay good point, what does it feel like and would you wear it on your chest?

Does his creation of the ephod mean he was sort of putting himself in the place of a priest?

Things I don’t understand. Gideon was openly committing sexual sin. Gideon also used anger to do revenge . Doesn’t God denounce all of these things?
