This is the first RMT I remember listening to on WCCO, Minneapolis, while driving from Grand Forks AFB, ND to St Cloud, MN, to visit my folks for a few days, on the night of its repeat, December 27, 1974.
Superb ending!!! By far one of the best installments! Can't believe 40 years have gone by since E.G. Marshall babysat me with these stories at night before going to school the next day!

It's been years since I've heard one of these; I used to listen to them when they were originally broadcast.
"Vicki Vola" also used the name "Vicki Volante" when she acted in films for Al Adamson.

however his wife's voice makes me think of Mrs. Pringle and he would be with a younger sexier type
I must admit i didn't understand the ending at all... (I normally guess these endings) Shame.. the lockdown must be making me brain dead !
The traveling salesman was Jerry. It seems he told the narrator about the insurance and when Jerry died he assumed his identity and planned a scheme to steal his insurance money.
