  • The series 2 Jaguar is the poor middle sister of the S1 and S3 and sadly the most unloved
We have progressed on our old girl named "Red" who was certainly destine for the wreckers if I didn't save her .
In this video we show how to:
    #Replace your ignition lock.
    #Repair your electric windows
    #Rust prevention
    #barnfind
    #barnfinds
    And more
    #jaguarxj

I was in the cleaning business for over 35 years . I ran mostly truck mounted steam cleaning equipment . I specialized in upholstery cleaning from auto the fine fabrics in homes . Cleaned many limos and classic car interiors from seats to carpets . I used an Bissel the Little Green Machine for spot cleaning if I needed to clean up some spots that were left after a complete cleaning . They work well but only draw back low suction and low water pressure and only heat was that what u could achieve from your faucet . The clue is to use professional cleaning chemicals designed just for upholstery . I was located in Los Angeles , CA. .

Yes, it would be nice to have something more professional
      Space is my problem
      Thanks for the feedback

Brilliant man. I loved owning my Jags, but no way could I do what he's capable of.

Thanks Jagman. I really enjoy your videos. This episode included two dogs breakfasts: one in the Big Red Cat and one with your parts bins. Top stuff. I'd be wanting to remove all those grafted in accessories, except the electronic ignition. Old looms have enough challenges, without the extra stuff. The window motors could do with a bit of a look. Dirty commutators, maybe dried out grease. Super job with the Bissel. Thanks for posting.

The car has clearly been looked after by the previous owners, even if many of the “enhancements” and “improvements” have been questionable ! Great to see she’s rewarding your faith and efforts…..

It's amazing how much you get done, on yer tod without any help. It was quite a thrill when you got into the red beast to take it for a test drive, but a disappointment when you didn't take us with you! Still never mind, I'm sure you will when the work is completed. One thing - I'm not at all fussy about most things, but those wheels look pretty ghastly on a noble Series 2. They look much too flash and boy racer.

I wish you a speedy recovery. So many similar faults to my series one. I had the dash out of it a couple months ago to get the heater core repaired. Putting the dash back interfered with the Lucas electrics: 1/ new cigar lighter 2/ bypass non working horn 3/ brake light switch had stopped working got a new old stock one off eBay 4/ Speedo not working still to fix, got new lower angle drive ( do these need oiling? ) I've had to use the underwing release a few times, lastly mine came with Lumenition but still uses a ballast resistor but the coil had failed so I fitted a sports coil. As always thoroughly enjoy your videos, cheers from Geoff post script, I had to change the window motors as they had seized after 30 years of non use.

I noticed my speedometer is not working either.
Found an angle in my parts while sorting

I love your can do no precious attitude. Concourse cars make no sense to me. Jags are among the most beatiful of cars.

Great! This XJ6 looks so good in red, it's amazing. My old XJ40 is back on the road after its high speed encounter with a deer and everything is working fine! The only missing bit that I can't seem to find anywhere is the little Jaguar cat badge for the right fender, as he's holding in his hands at 7:18 . So for now there is a hole, or I might get a generic flasher light to go there meanwhile.

That was an interesting smorgasbord of faults & fixes. Sorry you are crook, go easy on that strenuous garden work. I like your comment that the rust hole will allow water to drain out, a pragmatic solution, yeah not perfect but .......
