  • Cathedral Falls is a waterfall in the small town of Gauley Bridge, West Virginia. The waterfall flows down a rocky ledge of shale and sandstone. Coming in at 60 feet tall, it is the 2nd tallest waterfall in West Virginia. Across from the waterfall is a railroad crossing which was once used by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (C&O Railway) but it now only used rarely by Amtrak’s Cardinal line. The waterfall itself can be found right off of Midland Trail as you can pull right into the parking lot and take the short walk right up to it.
