These guys are legit awesome! They replaced my Prius head gasket in record time this past weekend. Prompt, professional, and very informative in their service... they knocked the whole process out within a couple hours, saving me a ton of coins. If you’re in the Central Valley, Sacramento or Bay Area, hit them up for your head gasket needs!

drew michael Nope, not on the payroll. They traveled 90 miles to my residence and did all repairs in the driveway. 840 for parts, labor, and travel. Better than the 4500 my local shops were quoting me. But yeah, if you’re mechanically inclined to diy, by all means do so to save some of coins.

@@a-dub9712 Not bad price considering it was done on-the-spot. But what the .... was with the 4500 with the other shops? Isn´t that a lot even for the Brand dealers repair??

Janne K I know, crazy right?!?!? That’s what was quoted at my local independent shops. The cheapest quote I got was 3500, but the 4000 range was the average. I didn’t check the local dealership because they’re always more expensive.

Quick word of appreciation for the work that Gasket Masters Jack and Jenn did on my 2010 Prius. Not only do I appreciate that the car is back up and running, but that they did not mind having me and my 5 yr old mechanic-in-training watch over their shoulders while learning how the pros do the work. They did the work swiftly, all the while addressing our questions/concerns with smiles on their faces. They showed up on time, ready to rock-n-roll, which I always appreciate from anyone showing up at my home to do work.
I simply cannot think of ways I could receive better auto repair service! Will definitely keep Gasket Masters in mind for any future engine repair ... Thanks again, Jack and Jenn!

This video saved me thousands of dollars. It took me 10 days working on and off, but this kept me on track and could pick it back up when I had time. I did have an issue after starting it for the first time where it was running really rought and I was getting a Check Hybrid System message, so I reset the hybrid system (there is another video on UA-cam about the steps to do this) and everything is kosher now. Thank you very much for the video and being so in depth.

Thanks very much for this video. Coupled with your earlier video, this gives a very clear view of the work involved, and lots of tips. One quibble, if you don't mind:
Around 18:50 mark, you recommend for removing the head bolts, a "size 12 triple-square". I think this will work, but the Repair Manual recommends "10 mm bi-hexagon wrench". The two have the same number of points, and very close dimensions, but the points on the Toyota recommendation are 60 degree (corner of hexagon) and your recommendation has points that are 90 degree. The points on the triple square also protrude very slightly more, so that maybe compensates. Still, The Toyota recommendation is the more compatible fit, and is available, on amazon for example.

Getting P0301, P0352, and P0403 codes. dropped battery - reconnect, get codes again. The relays seem to do something, but engine isn't even cranking. new spark plugs/coils there. All grounds connected. EGR plug is firm. All wires seem to be ok...WEIRD.
