That look in Flea's eyes is amazing. He's just in it. So open to the conversation he's having with another musician in front of thousands of people. He's like a teacher, an equal, and a student all at the same time. This is one of if not the most beautiful thing about music.

I would not want ...any other guitarist on the planet to replace John... other than 'Josh'. As a fan for 30 years , I never thought I'd witness that organic bond between bass and guitar that I'd seen with John and Flea...and yet ...here we are witnessing pure magical 'LIVE' chemistry ....that makes the hairs on my arms stand up... my heart melts ... Josh is amazing ...and I feel 'so proud' of that red asterisk tattooed on my arm ... :)
Man, this level of musical chemistry rivals that between Flea and John. Josh had huge boots to fill, but he managed wonderfully.

The way josh approached these jams with flea from a musicians perspective is so fucking interesting, the chords he chooses and like the style he puts with it just sounds so unique.
Love how a lot of the jams have this layer of intensity. Almost like the bass and guitar aren’t just floating or complimenting eachother, but fighting, or in conversation.
Plus, Josh has a very non-traditional strumming style. Very indie, virtuous, and wild. Less melodic sure, but more intense and focus on speed and anger. Absolutely golden
I think that intro jam is one of the closest things to musicians musically fucking.

After hearing john and flea live doing the cali jam this year, it does feel strange that josh is doing it, but it’s like a museum archive, a beautiful relic from the past that will always be appreciated and looked at in a space of enchantment! Thank you josh! You were an incredible piece of the jigsaw to the Chili peppers history!
The Klinghoffer Era was full of surprises. I loved that he got to sing and play by himself for a few concerts. His version of Lover You Should Have Come Over is as close as we’re ever getting to Buckley.
I feel bad for Josh... He was honored to be playing with the boys but wonder if he was intimidated and such high expectations of him. He's a trooper !!
Yeah him and flea was cringe. Flea was draining all his energy and he could barely be inventive anymore. This second one I'm on right now is really cringey too
I think it's just stunning how Josh manages to fit in the band like he's been reharsing with them forever.

Josh sucks. There I said it. Since he joined the band he has never failed to underwhelm me. New single included. In John you had a guitar prodigy, a riff master and a musical genius. In Josh you have a guy who isn't even a guitarist.
The band will never be as good as when Frusciante was in it . We saw it in 90s with Dave Navarro and we're seeing it again now. If you're a real RHCP fan you've got admit that. ;)

its a complicated place to be, replacing one of the most influential guitar players of the last decade. As a fan of the redhot i must say, TAKE YOUR TIME TO HEAR THE B SIDES from "im with you" and soon enough the ones from this new album. that may make you change your mind. New redhot albums are a lot more commercial like mixed to sound more modern and fit in the -new music market-

I really love Josh, it's such a special light made soul... Very simple, shy, and also a great guitarist. Love what he's doing with my favorite band of all times. And I love John too, and Dave Navarro, and Hillel of course, everyone of them gave the Red Hot Chili Peppers something special through the years. Flea, Anthony and Chad gave Josh his special place in the band. So, I doesn't matter what you say... He was the choice, even J Fru chose him to play with them. That's a really good friend. And just talking about friendship, that's what made the Chili Peppers stay together through all this years.

i feel like john has such a distinct style that goes like perfectly with the rest of the chilis, emphasising melodies rather than fast guitar riffs. Josh also has a distinct style that also fits so well with the chilis, i doubt many if anyone could blend together so well other than Josh and John, josh has his own style but it still blends to create some of the best music we get to hear today, i love em both... thank you for still making me smile rhcp
John did a lot more string plucks, taps and licks. Josh is more of a rhythm guitarist who strums chords and dyads. But when it comes to tapping the threats, plucking the strings....or licking out notes, the cats got his toung haha!

+valdi vall I don't think It's anger but rather general sadness over the degradation of the quality and creative process behind RHCP. I don't really care what the reasons for John's departure were but I feel that he is irreplaceable. I'm sure that Josh is a good artist and perhaps his sound will fit somewhere but you simply can't replace John who I hold as the best guitarist present and past. RHCP without John feels a bit like Queen without Freddie. Some people simply set the bar to high for anyone else to follow them and that's what I feel that mr. Fruiscante has done in RHCP.

Whoever says josh is a bad guitar player or "half a star" obviously knows nothing of music and is def not a guitarist themselves. John Frusciante is my idol and i was sad to see him leave the peppers again but josh fits in perfectly, there couldn't have been a better choice.

This band changed a lot over the years, not only with Josh.
I think Josh was the best replacement for John, he was already playing with the band live and he is an amazing guitarist.
I don't like comparing guitarists, everyone has his own playing style, the band just adapted their records with Josh's style, like they did with Slovak, Navarro, John, etc.
