M dear freind, you cannot possibly grasp the imp[act this song had ( in Italian) on those of us fluent ion the language [I was Navy-stationed in Naples 1987-1991]. It absolutely brought me to tears. Damiano is an Angel in an unconventional appearance to say the least. A truly brilliant lyricist.

Sanremo orchestra’s arrangement leaves you speechless and adds such a powerful element to the deep meaning of the song, to Damiano’s interpretation, he really felt this performance that at the end of it he cried. Damiano wrote the song as if it were a fairy tale without a happy ending... in the end he talks about a wall of a castle, that castle refers to one of the cemeteries of Rome, the monumental one of Rome, the Verano. Just look for a photo of the Verano cemetery in Rome to understand what I'm talking about.
Damiano said that Coraline(not her real name) did NOT die. However, he has also said that he writes music with different possible interpretations. So it could be a cemetery, or severe withdrawal from everyone, or whatever the listener’s interpretation is.
